The hotel is under maintenance and renovation. The room was just about clean. The furnishing had a lot of something that looked like animal hair. Rest of the areas in the hotel were not so clean and well kept. The breakfast area and the quality of breakfast left a lot to be desired. I understand they were doing construction on the hotel but it was disgusting. The system wasn't up to date on which room were available and which ones weren't. Had to change rooms once. The hallways stunk and smelled like smoke and other stuff. I have nothing bad to say about the front desk workers, they were very kind. Unfortunately I can not say the same about the hotel itself. We got to our room I was mortified the condition of the room was horrifying. The couch was atrocious it was covered in stains, white stains, hand prints, and dirt. There was hand prints on the walls. It looked like […] there was blood on the curtains. The toilet seat had hair on it. The floor in the bathroom and the shower were dirty. I have stayed in hundreds of hotels and I can honestly say this was the worst experience I have ever had. To top it off there was people singing all night in the rooms around us. The sheets were stained yellow. We were supposed to have a complimentary breakfast in the morning, when I arrived in the lobby at seven am there was not any breakfast being served and no one to be found in the dining area. I am a U.S. soldier and spent a year overseas living in a tent and experienced better living conditions there. This may be harsh but honest. Read more

The hotel is completely outdated. The hotel staff said that they do not receive funding from the owner and therefore the hotel is unable to update anything. The rooms have burn marks all over and water damage in the rooms. Also the rooms are straight out of the 1950's. No renovations to the furniture, tv, or even alarm clock. My husband and I were on our honeymoon and when we booked this hotel we were genuinely impressed by the pictures and were very eager to end our honeymoon here for the Boise State/Michigan State game. When we got to the hotel it was poorly lit, drunks lurking around, and the parking lot wasn't lit. Our room had no drainage in the shower, nor did the […] sink. We changed rooms and it was hardly close to being clean; dust, dirt spots on the bathroom counter, and the carpet was dirty as well. There was hair on the blankets and in the light I could see spots on the sheets, as if they had not been washed at all. I was freaked out pulling up to the hotel and almost left just on the outside appearance, but decided to "give it a try anyway" only because I had already paid. My outside window didn't lock and the ledge outside soemone could easily […] walk on, so I placed the shoe rack in the window so no one could slide the window over. I stayed in my room the entire time, no walking hallways, not exploring that place, no way! I was SO sorry I paid first. I was going to a training class and didn't want to pay for something I wouldn't be in much. Good thing about this hotel was that the bed was comfortable and it was quiet. For some place to lay your head for a few hours it was fine. The room was large and tidy, but not clean. Used tissue beside the bed, huge dust bunnies or something under the bed, and […] a faint smell of cigarette smoke. Internet was o.k., but I think I logged in to another hotel. I have seen better t.v. reception from a pair of rabbit ears. The alarm clock was an analog clock radio from the 60s and was missing the tuner knob for the radio. I was glad had my cell phone for an alarm. The furniture had holes drilled in the surface from an age where everything under the sun must have been bolted down. The bathroom was clean, but if you want a nice shower, you better have the knobs turned to the appropriate 1/1000 of an inch, otherwise it is just ice water. Breakfast, I guess was a slip under the door for complimentary goodie bags. I did not partake, so I cannot comment on those. If you are using a GPS, it will not take you to the correct location. The hotel is also poorly marked. It says Dad's Inn out front, so take note of that. I had little interaction with the desk staff. They were not talkative, but polite. This isn't the worst hotel I have ever stayed, but I doubt I will return. Read more

The hotel is old and dirty. You felt uncomfortable when you walked in. The bathroom showed the signs of mold. The shower curtain was torn. There was a bar of soap in the shower from the last person who last stayed in the room. When you turned on the hot water in the tub the flow was severly restricted, but there was plenty of cold water available! The […] bed skirt was riped. The chair in the room was falling appart and the fabric was heavily soiled. The carpet was dirty. The furniture was very old and was in need of replacement. The wallpaper was coming off the walls. The breakfast in the morning was a joke and the dining room was not clean. The lit sign on the building stated "Dads Inn". I assume at one point it was a Days Inn. The owners of this hotel must have absolutely no pride. I have never stayed in a hotel that was as bad as this hotel. I am truly shocked. Read more

First of all when I booked the hotel on line it was under MAGNUSEN hotel.. Come to find out it was a run down old (DADS INN) very dirty.. We were very un happy. We would never stay there again. It needs to be redone top to bottom or torn down.

Spoiler Alert! The Magnuson Hotel Lansing is absolutely one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. The hotel doesn't even exist at it's listed address. The taxi had to call when the address brought us to a location with no hotel. The Magnuson Hotel Lansing is located across the street and is part of what used to be a reputable "Days Inn" but has since […] been renamed "Dads Inn." The "Dads Inn" is in a state of disrepair and currently being renovated. Upon my arrival, I was given my room and had to return to the front desk when I found my room used and unclean. I then was upgraded and given a jacuzzi suite. The room was nice, but did have a large crack in the marble siding of the tub, and I did find broken glass under my bed with pictures to prove it. In addition to the price, I chose the Magnuson Hotel Lansing, or "Dads Inn" because of the complimentary wifi and continental breakfast. The wifi did not reach my room on the 5th floor, and the continental breakfast consisted of donuts and coffee. I would not recommend this hotel to any friends or family, or persons that I care for the general well-being or personal safety. Read more
