Hotel staff was very accommodating when we requested a room change due a noisy heater. When we left things in our former room, they were kind enough to retrieve the stuff and place it in our new room while we were out at dinner. The concierge was available and had very good suggestions for a family traveling with a one year old. The location makes it easy to travel without a car - we simply took the 7 bus up to all the museums - so easy!

For what I paid for the room it wasn't woryh the stay. We had continuously had cold water in the shower. We had a king suite and it wasn't worth it.

Room was very clean and very comfortable. Bed and bedding were great! We stayed for New Year's Eve, enjoyed the short walk down to gas lamp district and, when back at the hotel, could hardly hear any of the other guest's activities (we all know that NYE can get loud). Slept well and experienced excellent customer service throughout the short stay. Self-parking was around $25 for the night, but was to be expected with the location. Great stay, would stay there again if visiting that part of San Diego.

Great staff and hotel! Walking distance to Gas Lamp District and many restaurants and bars. Excellent deal on hotels.com and was able to upgrade to 19th floor with nice ocean view or only $20. Really enjoyed my stay here and will return again.

My stay was three nights. The room was comfortable and clean. The only improvement would be to have the hotel employee give more specifics when giving directions. Rather than "over there or "that way", "a block past the light at state & Broadway" would be preferable.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay as we were in town for the weekend. Hotel is clean and room was spacious. The MTA station is located right around the corner from the hotel, which was very convenient. Only negative is we had to pay $44/night for overnight parking, which is absurd! This alone would make us hesitate to go back.

We stayed at this hotel on Dec 23, and thought it was just okay. Downtown SD seemed pretty empty but there was a lot of traffic noise that affected our sleep even way up on the 10th floor. Part of the curtain wasn't properly attached to the track (we tried to fix it but the attachments were broken) so we had quite a bit of sunlight coming in in the morning. The water temperature for the sink and shower were both quite frustrating- it would take so much time to adjust between hot/cold that it was nearly impossible to find the right temperature. Parking is either valet for $44/day or $25 across at a public parking in the middle of downtown. Not exactly thrilled with the overall experience.

Arrived early and asked the desk clerk if I could store my bags, she cheerfully told me "your room is ready" Nice view of the city. Comfortable bed and enough pillows to sit up and watch TV. The comforter was white and didn't match the carpet or drapes. There were 4 elevators so movement in and out of the hotel was fast. The lobby was very clean and offered flavored water in dispensers.

The hotel parking is outrageous for hotel guests. $45 for one vehicle for only one night. When directly across from them is a parking structure for $25 and you can keep your car there as long as you want.

The stay was an overnighter and was quite comfortable. Rates comparable to the area. The lobby bar not anything to write home about but very nice staff. My only real grievance was the price of the Valet ($40/night)

The pictures they have for this hotel makes it look fairly nice. When I got there I opened the fridge to put some drinks in, there was spilled milk from the previous guest in there, hair everywhere, shower needed a cleaning, concierge rude! Not the morning lady that checked me in tho! Valet? $44 for in and outs, I needed to get some bags from my car after they had parked it. Instead of them bringing my car so I can get my stuff out, they give me the key and tell me where they parked it. NICE! Just a horrible experience, if the rooms where free I still wouldn't stay here!

The room was nice. The location was decent. Little walk from Gas Lamp. But if that's not your thing, you're good. Don't Let the Valet park your car. Our rental came back with a few creases in the bumper. Luckily we had the Insurance through them. DO NOT EAT THE BREAKFAST!! I've never stayed at a hotel where they didn't have complimentary breakfast. I've stayed at some nicer hotels too. We go down, have maybe 3 pieces of bacon and 2 eggs. $50 for 2 of us. I could not believe it. They don't tell you there is a charge until you have your plate and have eaten some either. If I would've know I would've dumped it and walk out and went to the café right outside for a breakfast burrito.

Hotel and rooms are great, but when we got to our room at 8PM, our TV was blurry and had annoying lines running thru it. I called and was told a technician would be right up. A half an hour later he arrived. After 5 minutes of trying to fix it, he said he needed to get another TV. When he didn't come back in 30 minutes, I called the front desk and said forget it. When I emailed the GM, she basically said sorry. I would have thought paying for a night with no TV she might say have a free breakfast or we will upgrade your room next time or something for our inconvenience and hassle...... not just sorry.

The hotel is located real close to the train station and the tram station. We walked all over down town - to the wharf and Gaslamp area. The only bad thing - parking.... $40 at the hotel per night; $25 directly across the street in the covered lot. Pay attention to the street signs - you may be able to get overnight street parking for free!

Two couples went out to San Diego to see a football game, among other things. Our stay at the Westin was one of the best parts of our trip. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to all the sights in the gaslamp district, and close to the trolley that goes up to Qualcomm stadium. About a 1/2 mile to the water and USS Midway museum. Check-in and Check-out were quick and efficient. There was a shuttle that picked us up from the airport (no need to pre-book, just call when you arrive), however our return flight was too early so we had to get a cab. The room was large, modern and very clean. The gym was fantastic! Updated equipment and a great variety (5 treadmills, a few ellipticals, yoga mats, balance balls, medicine balls, a full set of weights, two benches and a TRX machine, plus tons of floor space to do your own thing). The gym also offered towels and cold water. RunWestin offers group runs on Tuesdays but we weren't there on that day. They do offer area maps of 3-mile and 5-mile routes if you are a runner or walker. The hot tub and outdoor pool was clean and a welcome reprieve after a day of walking. Our only complaint was that it took a very long time to get room service drinks delivered to the hot tub. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Everything was great except I was frustrated with not having wireless internet available for free. Everywhere else in the world it is free for patrons. I can go to any coffee shop and get it for free... And most hotels. I was searching for a hotel that would offer Internet...did not know that it would cost $15/day extra. I will read the small print more carefully next time...

We were only there overnight but our room was available early and they allowed us to check-in. We needed to get back in the car and drive about an hour, so we were grateful. Staff was extremely helpful with directions and early morning questions. Room was clean and beds very comfortable

We got first a room with windows to the inside yard and asked for another room with windows to the outside. That request was immediately fulfilled without any problems. Very nice. The neighborhood is a little empty and parking is hopelessly overpriced, but it is very close to the gas light district and the USS Midway.

Since we were there during the weekend, downtown is not crowded and we could get in and out very easy. The hotel is close to all points of interest. Never more than 15 minutes away. It is close to the Trolley station as well if you want to go explore without a car

For the money, the price was right. But parking was expensive. Their valet service uses the same public parking structure accross the street but charges $40. Its much cheaper for you to park your own car and simply walk across the street and save. As for the hotel itself, it was very nice. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

The counter clerk was friendly and courteous. The room was clean, nicely decorated and quiet. We enjoyed walking down town and found a restaurant a couple blocks away that had excellent food.

A fine hotel for conferences but for vacation, not the best. The staff were very friendly and the lobby was nice. The rooms were comfortable. I was really hoping for a nice city/bay view so I upgraded the room to City View. The 8th floor view was of the building, a side street, and a crane. Valet parking at $40/nt is a bit much. Having an overnight and in-and-out option for half price would be much nicer.

All and all not so good. The main problem was the bathroom which was disgusting. The toilet appeared to be clean but when I lifted the lid it had drops of human waste, the floor was not cleaned the bath top had hair in it. Next morning, Cold Cold water took a shower with cold water did not request a room change or complain do to time limits, stayed only one night. Requested a receipt I have not received it. All and All I will not used them again for fear of repeating my bad experience. The food service was good the employees were excellent. Sorry, first impressions count a lot. Sincerely Arturo Sandoval

This is a great choice for downtown San Diego. It is in walking distance to just about everything. A big plus is the free airport shuttle service. It also took us to breakfast one day. Room is quite comfortable except we did not like the pocket door to the bathroom. It is noisy and hard to operate. All the employees were very polite and were helpful in giving information about the area. I would definitely stay here again.

Just stayed overnight but was very impressed with the hotel. It was downtown close to everything, but wasn't noisy. The lobby and bar is so beautifully designed. The staff very friendly and gracious. The rooms are very large and the beds are wonderful. I would definitely stay here again when I return to San Diego.

Our stay was wonderful! The staff was very attentive and accommodating; the rooms were attractive, clean, and comfortable; the hotel is in a fantastic location - not far from the train station, around the corner from a trolley station, walking distance to many attractions. My 7-year-old son loved the glass elevators and the gym and pool/whirlpool.
