"It's nothing special."
This hotel was old and not interesting to stay in at all. The pool and Jacuzzi was filthy could not even enjoy myself.

"First class, worth a stay- but I've seen better."
Very good, but for the price could have been better: WiFi $18/day?? Why? How comes that Starbucks can give it to you for free if you spend $2 with them, while Westin will charge $18 on top of the hundreds you pay? (did not take it, although I needed it) Parking $44 (also on top of the price). The hotel should have a deal with the parking across the street (which is $25 for anyone) for say $15 a night, and (say) add $10 for valet. It would be more palatable. Sink was almost clogged; did not bother to report because we stayed there for only one night, and would rather not have the plumbers in an out our room. The place is first class, but barely. Impersonal lobby, decor and service.

There are lots near us to self park in, but they do charge every time the car leaves the lot so you need to be aware of any fees. "Almost perfect"
Hotel was very nice, bar staff was very nice, room was nice and clean. Could not understand why they charge for WiFi or parking. I've stayed in many hotels around the world and a hotel of this caliber should be able to handle free WiFi without being a member and vaidated parking just seams right. Or free vallet to hotel guests...

We love the Westin Hotels. This one,not so good. There isn't a good dinner selection menu, no wine selection. We requested bayview and paid extra. the Bay is now not visible due to construction.

"Really great stay"
Rented a room at the Westin specifically for Halloween night and got a very great deal 1 week before. Only saw valet parking which was not cheap but I found street parking which was free after 6pm. Room view was spectacular and very close walking distance to the Gaslamp scene.

"Best stay in Downtown"
We stayed for the Halloween Bash in the Gaslamp and had such an amazing stay we added an extra night. Great staff. Very helpful. Loved the rooftop pool and spa.

"Very dog friendly"
I loved the fact that the hotel was dog friendly (free dog bed and bowls are provided as well if you ask), and they didn't charge a huge sum of money for my dog to stay overnight with us. The hotel is not the most updated or luxurious, but for location it's good. Self-parking was little confusing as the entrance did not mention the hotel name. We ended up going with valet service since it gave us in-and-out privilege.

"Nice, extra fee for parking."
The hotel was very clean, centrally located in downtown San Diego, nice comfortable beds. Three persons were staying in room; we asked for rollaway bed, told by staff due to safety only could provide air mattress which went flat during the night. Was also surprised by parking fee of $44.00 for one night stay.

The stay was nice except the bath tub would not stay closed so it made taking a bath difficult. I should have said something but I just tolerated it and stopped the tub up with a towel other wise the stay was nice! Fix that tub I love bubble baths...

"High Class Joint!!!"
Got a good price through Expedia for one night after leaving Rosarito, Mexico. Wanted to make plane on time in San Diego but the Border makes no guarantee. Hotel is stylish and clean. Room was modern and extremely comfortable and had the biggest TV I'd ever watched.

"Nice hotel, but the security should be improved."
The hotel was very nice and the staff really pleasant, but we did have an incident when some drugged, crazy guy entered the lobby and tried to get my necklace from my neck. My little daughter was horrified and still has nightmares. I called the hotel staff and he yelled at the crazy guy, but when he charged at him, he started running. The guy then went to the bar area and unsalted some other hotel guests. They did not call the police, but ignored the whole thing. I was very disappointing and angry that the hotel doesn't have security at the door not to allow people like him entering the hotel. The lobby security should be improved, because the most important thing for the guests is their safety.

We booked through hotels.com it was paid in full. We checked in and they told us they only had 2 double beds? I told her that's not what we requested she said there was nothing she could do the hotel was full. It was our 1 year wedding anniversary and we did not want sepporate beds...I then found my reservation in deleted emails that shows we had a king bed and she did give it to us. Apparently not all the rooms were gone after all. RUDE. I will never stay there again. Also our room had a great view, The county Jail. And there parking was horrible.

"Even our dog loved it."
The hotel was very accommodating to our family. They welcomed our pit bull for no additional charge and the room was gorgeous. The parking was a little pricey but it did offer valet in and out service. It was a little over a block to the harbor and a 10-15 minute walk to the Gaslamp. You can also request a late checkout at no additional charge.

"GREAT LOCATION"

"Nice hotel, but parking is a rip off"
We're locals but live in North County about 45 minutes north of Downtown. We were seeing a show at the House of Blues and decided to stay overnight downtown. The price for the room itself was very reasonable and was 1/2 mile from the Gaslamp district. The only negative comment I have is that the parking situation is a complete rip off. We called ahead to figure out what the parking situation would be and we were completely surprised that the cost overnight to park was $44. They only did valet. Fortunately, there are a couple other options. However, we had some valuable music equipment and thought that it would be safer to park in the hotel's garage then anywhere else. When we got our car the next day, they pulled it out of the parking garage across the street. Which we could have done ourselves and it would have only been $25.

"Relaxing Weekend Stay"
When driving to the hotel, we couldn't find the main hotel parking and made a loop around and notice that it is located on Columbia St. There's no parking structure and only Valet or Hotel Overnight Parking which cost about $15 or $45. You can easily find parking across the street for $20 but you won't be able to go in and out of the parking lot. There was a wedding that was happening so there was a really long line to park at the Hotel. Besides this, Valet and workers were definitely helpful when walking in. The place looks pretty amazing and classy. They have a small and relaxing bar with decent selections of drinks and of course serve food. I had the deluxe room which is more than enough for two people. Nice view of Downtown. I didn't have time to check out the gym or pool but from looking from the outside, it looks pretty legit. Everything in the room was clean and setup for me and a friend. The only thing i disliked were the sliding doors in the bathroom since it was kind of difficult to lock but besides that everything was pretty comfortable. Overall, workers were pretty helpful and I definitely enjoyed my stay!

"Clean and Quiet. Great"
GREAT service at the bar by a lady with short curly auburn hair. I don't remember her name. I came with my friend. We are 2 young girls and sometimes I feel that as younger girls we don't always get the same treatment at hotels as the older couples, or business people get, but I felt that I got equal treatment here and was valued as a customer. It made our weekend getaway that much better.

"Needs free parking"
The hotel was awesome, I loved everything about it and the room was much more than I expected..very happy with my stay..just one thing. It would be nice to have free parking for staying at your hotel. I know it's a different company that does the parking garage but you should be able to validate a hotel guests parking.

"Hotel is just OK. Will stay elsewhere next time."
The hotel was nice. The room was just OK. The rooms are old and really need a revamp. The door for the bathroom was chipped and was really old. Just was painted over and over again. They still charge for internet for some reason. And this hotel is in downtown but is a few blocks from the actual good area. It is right by the courthouse so if you are going to walk to restaurants, get ready to see the best of the crazy homeless people. Top that with me making a reservation for a king bed room with a view and when I went to check in, they didn't have one. What is the point of paying for a reservation if you are just going to give the room away the first chance. They gave us a twin double bed room with a slight view. Plus, offered to give the internet free. Wow!!...not. So, I gave them the look of "I want my money back" and then they upped the game with a free breakfast buffet for me and my date and that kept me there. And I'm glad I took it because the breakfast was pretty spectacular.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Great location near gaslamp. Nice amenities, like free water and wifi for Starwood members. Parking is pricey. Self-parking is pricier. Lobby is a little cramped feeling and mazelike. Meeting and social events can get pretty noisy.

"Fantastic place to stay...if you can afford it."
I had an excellent time at this hotel. Staff were all very friendly, professional and helpful. The beds were comfortable, the views outstanding and the elevators fast. This hotel is perfectly located - close to the airport, the bay and even the Gaslamp District, without being so close that you get all the noise. The only negative is the price. I don't think it is 50% nicer than a typical Hampton Inn, which often run right around $100/night with a good buffet breakfast included. I also think the food was pricey (albeit very good) and $44/night for parking is outrageous.

"San Diego Vacation"
The towels were a bit scratchy and after you take a shower the towels would stick to any area of the body that you needed dry. They need to stop using a fabric softener with them. the main complaint was that there was no continental breakfast. The amount of money the charge per night at such a renowned hotel chain should offer one. There was no way I was going to pay $22.50 a plate for breakfast. That was just for one person. Outragious! Other than that, the Staff and stay was great.

"Very good location, but staff were deceiving"
When you're paying for a bay view, they gave us a city view and on the 3rd floor even though our registration said so. The location is fantastic and the hotel is clean and looks very good. The staff on the other hand needed to be dealt with because even when asked for a different room, they moved us in the exact same spot, ... just higher which was pointless because we couldn't see much of the bay anyway. Make sure you know what you've reserved and when you go, make sure you get what you're paying for because if you don't, you'll be deceived without even knowing about it.

The hotel was nice, aside from the fact that the hallway smelled like marijuana. Hotel staff came to my room at 11pm to tell me my music was too loud. I turned it down. About 30 mins later. They returned to tell me I was talking too loud. I went downstairs to speak with the hotel concierge. I was not yelling screaming or anything else in my room. It was just me and my boyfriend talking normally. He was rude, told me the walls are thin, and proceeded to tell me that because the guest who complained was a returning guest their experience was more important than mine.

"Worst Hotel"
Horrible! People walked in our room at 4am! Bed was very uncomfortable, back ache first night. Bill was over $550 dollars, totally disappointed!
