"Beautiful location, beach front property, but...."
Beautiful location, nice beach front property, but the rooms are older and there is no noise insultation between first and second floors. We could hear everything going on above us and I'm sure they could hear us as well. So if you're neighbors are early risers, you will be as well. But all in all a very pleasant stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"On the beach"
Although the grounds were nicely groomed, for the money the room was spartan. Indoor/outdoor carpet, spider webs under the bed, old furniture...the room was horrible. No restaurant or bar service in the evening.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Wonderful facility and the Cape is always great. Two complaints about this location: weddings there both Saturday and Sunday while we were there - resulted in NO PARKING available - we got back from a great night at 11 PM and rode around looking for a parking spot - finally just left car in a no parking area a long walk away. NOISE outside our room […] until midnight both nights. Our recommendation is really a maybe. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location, not very clean"
Our room smelt moldy and hair was all over the bathroom. The rugs did not appear overall very clean. The indoor locker room also did not appear too clean or well maintained. We frequent hotels and the extras that are available and the location is perfect, however I would stay at a cleaner hotel a bit further down the beach if possible. I was hoping […] for a lot more and was somewhat disappointed. It seemed as though this location was touted as Red Jacket resorts "elite" spot - I think the Blue Rock was cleaner. The pool was perfect at this location however. I would only recommend this hotel due to its location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"The resort with it all"

Stayed as a couple but this a great family resort as well. Plenty of entertainment for children during the summer break. Large rooms with balconies overlooking the beach or river or pool area. Comfortably furnished. Refrigerator in room. Table and chairs. Outdoor chairs on deck. Large bathroom with excellent vanity. Dining room, coffee machines in foyer, indoor & outdoor pools, spa, guest laundry, jet ski hire all this directly on the beach. No lifts but stairs easily accessed
"Good combination of beach and pool"

I have been going to the Cape for more than 40 years, to the same place. But my 81 year old mom couldn't manage the tiny cottage we went to any more. So I was looking for a place that was right on the beach but that also had a pool so that she could see the ocean and put her toes in the sand, but my daughter could still swim easily in the ocean or pool. The resort included amenities that we didn't use but had to pay for. And the resort grill and bar closed too early (5 p.m.?) so we couldn't get a drink early evening and sit by the pool while the kids swam. I would go back but it was pricey for what we got. But we were clearly paying for beach front access and the pool.
"Great location, good facilities, terrific staff"

We stayed at the Red Jacket Beach resort for 4 nights in August 2014, booking direct via the hotel's website. We were delighted with the location of the hotel, as it was quiet (at the end of a road) but only a short drive to a wide selection of shops, bars and restaurants, and near Hyannis which is a lovely town to visit. We arrived at 11am and were able to use the hotel's facilities even though our check-in time wasn't until 3pm. The very helpful Reception staff suggested we keep checking to see if our room was available, which it was at 12.30pm. The room was clean, reasonably spacious and had a great view of the beach from the balcony. The beds were comfortable, ample linen, plenty of storage space, iron & ironing board, hairdryer, large TV with plenty of channels, small coffee machine and a fridge (which I wasn't expecting). The aircon machine was a bit loud, but no more so than any other hotel we've stayed in. A few more AC outlets in the room would have been nice as we travel with the usual range of cameras, laptops, iPads, etc, but that's a very minor complaint! We were never troubled by noise, in the room or anywhere else in the hotel. A minor quibble: for the price I would have liked nicer toiletries. What was provided was OK, but I've stayed in similarly priced hotels and been provided with much nicer and a wider range of soaps, shower gels, shampoo, etc. We thought the hotel facilities were excellent: a private beach with loads of space (it never felt overly busy), outdoor pool with plenty of sun loungers, kiddie splash pool, indoor pool & hot tub, on-site spa (which we didn't use), on-site jet ski rental & parasailing (the jet skis were brilliant!), indoor & outdoor bars, two or three places to eat, drinks service at the pool and on the beach, etc. The facilities we used, especially the beach, outdoor pool and indoor hot tub were excellent. The free tea and coffee served at Reception was nice, in addition to the coffee making facilities in our room. Free wifi was readily available in our room and around the pool. Prices for food and drink in the hotel seemed reasonable, although we did take advantage of the very wide range of restaurants nearby for most of our meals as we wanted to experience as much of Cape Cod as we could. Throughout our stay we found the hotel staff to be, without exception, very friendly and helpful. This was a real standout feature. Well done! I'd be very happy to return to the hotel.

Arrived for a 1 night stay to extend our beach vacation after being at the Sea Crest in Falmouth. Very disappointing -- rooms were extremely dated in both decor and design. Bathrooms need a major refresh..the shower and toilet are separated by a door and the sink was in a separate area but led back to the room so no privacy or way to keep the light from shining in the room. Carpet in room was soiled and the room decor was a very dated colonial style -- straight out of the 70's. No table or floor lamps. Beds were hard as rocks - zero cushion. This is NOT the place to forget your toiletries. They didn't have a hairdryer and offered extremely poor quality basic amenities (shampoo/conditioner combo and 1 round soap). Given the price and location, we definitely expected more luxurious accommodations and amenities. We stayed in an ocean front, ground floor room. Beautiful view! Smoking was allowed near the registration area which was annoying. No drink service at the beach, nor do they set up your umbrella/chairs for you. However free coffee near the restaurant in the morning was a bonus.
We booked with our friends in Sept 2013 from the UK. When we arrived after a 6 hour drive from New York (despite having a booking confirmation) we were devasted when the receptionist we had no booking. The following day they admitted they forgot to carry it forward and rented the house to other people. Really disappointing and poorly handled so would not recommend.

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights with our 3 year old. The beach and the pools were great (minus the hot tub which was blissfully hot but in need of a serious scrubbing). It was wonderful to walk right onto the beach. We were also really happy with the onsite food for breakfast and lunch. Our daughter is still too young to really take part in all the kid activities but we thought the offerings looked fun. However, there were a few important negatives to our stay. We paid a high nightly rate for our beachfront room and we expected more. The bathrooms are in need of serious updating, they are quite old and cramped. The AC unit woke us up multiple times because it was very loud when it clicked on and off, which was frequent and left us either sweating or freezing. Also, the balcony was very unsafe. It is wooden and rickety with large gaps between the columns. We were not comfortable having our young daughter out there which meant we could not enjoy the view which we paid extra money for. In addition, the balcony was absolutely crawling with spiders and webs. At one point, I counted over 15 spiders at once! One of the other beachfront units appeared to have vinyl railings and a new deck which I hope means they are in the process of replacing all of them. We did have a great time at the resort but the room really wasn't worth what we paid for it.

Recently stayed at the Red Jacket beach resort for a vacation. As always a wonderful time. The rooms were ready and cleaned very well for being right on the beach. The staff is very friendly and always asked if you needed any help.We had a second floor beach front which i usually dont enjoy as much as the ocean front lawn rooms however it was nice to be down the end of the beach way near the river as it was very quiet. We had to move our room to enjoy an extra night but the staff made that easy and were very helpful..Love the new addition Tikki hut where you can enjoy drinks and escape the sun.The only negative complaint which has nothing to do with the resort is the amount of rude smokers...couldnt really leave your doors open to enjoy the beautiful ocean breezes!!Again thanks to the staff at the RED JACKET BEACH for another enjoyable stay..see you next year!!!!.
"Beautiful Property, Friendly Staff but....."

The Red Jacket Inn is a well kept, beautiful property with amazing views!! However, the family staying in the rooms above us were very loud and outside on their deck until after midnight! The kids bounced balls on their deck with sounded like a bomb exploding when we sat below on our deck trying to relax and enjoy the view. The band under the pavillion was so loud you could not talk while they played. I loved the couches, view and outside bar but again, the noise is overwhelming!!

We usually rent a house when we stay at the Cape, on this vacation we thought to try a resort experience instead. Red Jacket had three swimming pools (2 outside and 1 inside), Yoga on the beach and access to jet skis and other rentals. We also visited the spa for massage. Unfortunately that covers the highlights for our four day stay. We were originally booked for five days, but after four we were ready to go home. The space they sold us on for a family of 5 might have been best for a couple or a family of three with a small child. The shower did not work properly, the toilet flushed only after considerable encouragement and the WiFi was non existent. The staff were friendly and apologetic each time we raised a concern, but for $365/night, I did not want apologies. They were even gracious when we told them we were leaving a night early and we were not charged for the room. I understand that they have other inventory, but the only room we saw as probably something special 30-40 years ago.

I traveled here with a bus tour. The resort was beautiful. The landscape was perfectly arranged and the hotel was walking distance to the beach. This was my favorite feature. My room was very comfortable and it had a scenic view. The breakfast was delicious, the entire staff was friendly and always ready to assist in any way. I would definitely return.
