"Older hotel showing it's age but still nice"
Had a good time. Wish the hotel was closer to the beach and had more pools with more shade. The Hilton next door has much more amenities but this is still nice. The restaurant at the top of the hotel is good but over-priced for what you get. Do not order the steak.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Friendly check in, no wait."
Enjoyed my stay at Ilikai. I would return there and stay again. Location a bit away from the main hotel section, but it was still a good location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Awesome view, friendly staff, great location. We will be staying here againGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good for the money"
For a cheap stay this is the place. Nothing glamorous about the hotel but for the most part clean and taken care of. It is an older hotel and you can tell in the rooms. While there they were doing co struction the floor above us, but did not bother us because they only did work during the day 8am- 3.Genuine Expedia guest review
"ilikai stay 6/24/13-6/30/13"
The experience at the ilikai was okay. There was nothing special about this hotel. The location was pretty convenient being that its 2 blocks away from the beach and shopping. The decor was mediocre and needed some updating. Overall I give this hotel 3 outta 5 stars.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Waikiki location for walking"
The Ilikai was a great low key place to relax. Easy walking to the beach and to shopping. The staff were very helpful and made my stay an awesome experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpfull. They answered all questions with a smile. It was a very very pleasant experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"would not stay there again"
Confusing to navigate and find the lobby. The staff was great. The room was plain, unappealing, and the bed was uncomfortable. For $200, it was not worth the price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is conveniently located. It's next to hilton resort and from the balcony u can experience the fireworks they do every evening. Before reserving , do confirm if u want the full ocean view or partial. Overall, a nice nice to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very old hotel.. even though the maid did her job well, the hotel still wasn't clean. It needs severe renovation. Parking was unreasonably e,pensive, $28 a day and you have to give yhem tips each time you pick up the car. Front desk staffs were not willing to meet out needs until they were been called a few times. Overall, they were all not professional, […] definately not worthy for the money you would pay. "Great hotel for all!"
The ocean front rooms were beautiful. It had a very large balcony with great views of yacht harbor and the ocean. It had a full kitchen equipped with dishes, flatware, pots and pans. They even provided dish soap. There was also a full sized refrigerator, microwave, two stove top burners, coffee pot with daily coffee, iron, ironing board and hair dryer. Every […] Friday evening, there are singers and hula dancers in the courtyard. The hotel provides a welcome packet filled with coupons at check in. Also, they provide guests with beach chairs and towels. They were close to a lot of great restaurants, Ala Moana Shopping Center, and the Hilton Hawaiian Village. "Nice hotel, classic character"
If you're not interested in the chain hotels, this is the place. The Ilikai is a good mix of old Hawaii and new. Sure, it shows some wear, but you know you're in Hawaii, from the shell inlay in the furniture to the bamboo font used in signage. Go for the ocean side, and do take advantage of the swimmer's elevator and the restaurants.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A great stay!"
We had a great time. Hotel is very well maintained, staff is great. Our only issue was with the hotel bar/ restaurant, which was woefully understaffed.Genuine Expedia guest review
"First Hawaiian Vacation"
This was our first trip to Hawaii and expedia made choosing and booking our hotel very easy. The Hotel staff was very helpful in helping us book different local tours to help us really enjoy our first vacation in Hawaii.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Worked well for us."
We Stayed 7 days, loved the hotel, loved the location. My only "complaint" is I dont know if they actually change your sheets during your stay? I felt like they just kept making our bed instead of changing the sheets but Im not entirely sure, I could be wrong. Other than that, loved the restaurant downstairs, loved the location, loved everything about […] it! :) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Would always choose to stay again"
We have stayed here a few times. Our first visit, we rented directly from a condo owner and loved the room - was very spacious with a full kitchen and great view. As a guest of the hotel for the other two times, the first time I was disappointed to realize that I had booked a room without a kitchen. The view however, was spectacular, of Diamond Head […] and Waikiki. But we ended up moving to another room anyway that had a full kitchen and "living" area. Was comfortable and spacious but VERY dated - and the view was of the marina (not bad, just much less "spectacular", except for the sunsets). Our most recent visit, we had a room that was spacious enough, but again, no kitchen. However, it was updated, clean and had the marina view. It was great and the staff is always very helpful and friendly. The location is superb, close to everything without being in the middle of downtown Waikiki. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great location and value"
Overall a good experience. Food at the restaurant wasn't that special and no breakfast in bed was available. But hotel was good price and good location between Ala Moana and WaikkiGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Clean, comfy rooms with a view"
We really enjoyed our stay at the Ilikai. The location is exceptionally convenient- steps from Waikiki Beach, and along a major road with easy access to The Bus and every tour bus and trolley operating in the city- many use the Ilikai as one of their main pick-up points. Our room was clean and comfortable. We paid the extra to get the ocean view room, […] and it was gorgeous- nice views of the ocean and Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon, and we could even see Diamond Head over the top of the hotel across the street. All the staff was friendly and helpful, and the free wi-fi was nice to have. The on-site bar/restaurant had good food and reasonable (for Waikiki) prices. We would gladly stay there again. "Been Twice - Going Back Again"
Second time stay in less than a year. We love it here - close to everything. And on the 'edge' of Waikiki, so very easy to jump in our car and head off to Honolulu or the North Shore. We'll be back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Costly parking & Dirty rooms"
My room was dirty when I arrived, I didn't complain I never do, the maids have access to the rooms. We stayed a week and my room was not cleaned properly, hair left on floor, shower moldy. They charge $ 29.00 a day for guest parking then you feel obligated to tip valet. The only good thing about our stay was the closeness to the beach, although disappointed […] with the beach as well, water was very dirty. I only stayed at this hotel because my daughters team was staying there, will not use it again.. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to everything . Good bus service ."
It was nice. Got bad sunburn so couldn't do a lot. Hotel provided what we needed including a free use of beach chairs, towels and a wheelchair for me when my feet were so badly burned that I couldn't walk much. Staff were gracious and our concierage, Reggie was the best ever.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for Business Trip"
The Ilikai Hotel remains one of the Great Older Hotels on Oahu. Sitting on the edge of Waikiki it is accessible to both the Tourist and Business areas. As an older hotel, expect your room to be clean and tidy but do not expect state of the art TVs, modern furnishings and posh accessories. It's the basics. If you are going to Waikiki on a budget, consider […] this hotel if the savings are considerable for you. If you are planning a romantic or special vacation cosider spending more money. I would stay at the Ilikai Hotel again for a business trip. Best feature of the hotel is that all rooms have a large balcony with either city or ocean views. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel for getting a retro Waikiki vibe!"
While this hotel is somewhat of a throwback, it makes up for it's slightly dated appearance with it's character, it's comfort, it's view, and it's service. I loved my stay there, and i WILL be back. Thank you.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel for family"
The hotel was amazing in general. Good location with a few car rental choices around the corner. Friendly staff. Food food.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel for a second honeymoon!"
While this is obviously an older but renovated luxury property, our stay was very enjoyable. We could have paid more and not received any greater benefit. Great location.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Easy TheBus route No.20 to/from airport."
Hotel location is very near to all of my interest points. Some points not close to the hotel, the bus stops just infront of the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Too much money for the age of hotel and location"
The hotel is older and not right on the beach as stated. It is the farthest away from Wakkii and the Stip. And the Beach is not right in front. You have to go over to the Hilton Hawaiian villiage beach and there is no jaccuzi, There are mostly condo's there now 450 and it is a lot of older people buying , renting and staying. 240 was way too much for […] this hotel plus 28 for parking , Restaurants are rough. "Average hotel in Waikiki..."
Dining facilities in the hotel can be further improved. Assistance from bellboys took about 15-20 minutes, valet people are the first people to greet you but can't do much.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great place the Ilikai"
Loved the location ! Out of the hustle and bustle of the major part of Waikiki, but yet close enough to get to all the action. There is a beautiful walkway along the beach to get amongst the other hotels. Ilikai has a lovely deck area that overlooks the marina adding to the restful feeling of the area. Would highly recommend this hotel. The restaurant […] overlooking the marina is great and very friendly. The coffee shop in the hotel is a real bonus. Yeah Ilikai!!!! It needs an update...the public areas look great but the rooms need some remodel and clean the corners a little better. The staff at the front desk were great and always helpful. I liked the beach towels and beach chairs that were available to guests.Genuine Expedia guest review

"An affordable upscale hotel on Waikiki Beach"
View is lovely, staff are professional but friendly. Enjoy the easy walk to Ala Moana park & shopping center. Also enjoy the beach walk to Waikiki. Was highly entertained when Hawaii 5-0 happened to be filming on site one morning. The Ilikai works for us because we like to walk but it could be a distance for those with small children. The lagoon is […] a nice safe area for children or non-swimmers to recreate. Would choose it again over the competition next door. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not the Best experience when you arrive"
Since we arrived the problem was finding a valet, we had to carry our bags upstairs because there was a Big Sign in the Electric Stairs No bags allowed, we tried to check in, but they gave us our room until 3pm (It was 8am) It was 30 minutes until we found the Valet to keep our bags until 3pm, and he was not friendly, looked like he was doing us a favor. When […] we finally got our room we had to call housekeeping to go up and clean again the floor which was covered in hair! On the way out, we had luck I guess cause the Valet was someone else and he was in a good mood Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fit for an older crowd. 50 yrs and over."
the chair and bedding smelled like sweaty people had been lying on it. my airconditioning unit dripped on the ground constantly. the room just had a foul odor to it. It seemed to be more for an older crowd 50 years and older. Very small pool area with not enough lounge chairs. Had to always wait for a chair.Genuine Expedia guest review
"golden girls dusty room"
We didn't expect much but we didn't expect a very dusty room and bathroom with moldy tile and shower. We had to perform our own plumbing to turn off the bathtub faucet and the service from personnel was the worst we had in Hawaii. We were talked into "upgrading" to an ocean front room that was really a city front room with only a view of the ocean from […] one end of the lanai. When I opened the shower door I got some silver goo all over my hand that wouldn't come off till the third good scrubbing. The concierge almost always had the "be back in 5 minutes" sign up and when they came back we waited for 40 minutes before giving up. The lobby decor was nice but the rooms were a flash back to the golden girls era with dust all over the floor boards and all over the bathroom doors. You couldn't open the door without getting dust on you. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice older hotel"
The hotel is located near Waikiki Beach and many shops. The reason I didn't rate the hotel higher is because the shower is a little run down and has a shower curtain, no tub and the water pressure was weak. The sink back-uped and there is NO dresser space which was inconvenient because we had to live out of our suit cases. We had a kitchen which was […] nice and they provided plates, cups and a few cooking essentials. Unfortunately our room faced East and you couldn't open the curtains or sit on the balcony during the day because it was just too bright and hot. It was very nice in the evening though and you could see the HIlton's firework show next door. Ate at the bar and grill one night and had the worst hamburger and onion rings ever, frozen and re-heated food. Nice bar atmosphere though and staff was nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, but the hotel is showing it's age."
This hotel has a great location, but is showing it's age. The pool is very small and the amenities are sparse compared to other hotels in Waikiki. The positives are it's location to the beach, lagoon, and Ala Moana. Walking along the beach gives great access to all the hotels, and puts you in easy reach of International Marketplace.Genuine Expedia guest review
We had a beautiful room with a fantastic view. The room was spacious and comfortable with a full kitchen and wall to ceiling window for the entire wall facing the ocean -- lovely balcony. The only minor issue was waiting for the bellman with our luggage when we left -- but that was a minor issue. Over all we loved our stay at the Ilikai.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Hawaii Thanksgiving 2012"
We've stayed here before - very enjoyable. Great Views. The pillows could use some work, and the rooms could use some updating...but nothing major. Dinner at Sorrento's was great - but remember to tell them up front that you are a hotel guest if you want the 15% discount...they gave ma a hard time and only gave me 10% back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Ilikai is semi-convenient even though it's at the end of the strip. It's right next to the Modern Hotel which is nice if you would like to go to a nice bar. There are some restaurants close to the area and walking distance to the ala moana mall which makes it an ideal hotel that's not too busy, yet close enough for shoppingGenuine Expedia guest review
Very pleasant atmosphere and all employees we encountered were helpful and ready to help whether it be driving directions, restaurants, etc.. Enjoyed the view from our room. Great location!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok hotel at a good price."
