"Times Square Nugget"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 6, 2012
We really enjoyed our stay. We stayed for a week and were glad to find a hotel right in the heart of Times Square. The service was definitely top notch! The front desk was courteous and the concierge was very helpful, recommending great shows and restaurants. Our room was nice. It could've been a little larger. But the bathroom was a good size and the size of the TV's and the fact that they played HD was a bonus. Also, the bed was quite comfortable. The cleaning staff did a fine job of keeping up the room. I'll definitely recommend this hotel to others.
"Consistency. You can depend on it."Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Finding a "GOOD THING" these days can get harder and harder. For this reason when you come across a 'good thing" it is priceless. One of the most recent "good things " that I have come across is the PARAMOUNT hotel in Times Square. The first thing that I leave the hotel impressed by is the professionalism and commitment that is demonstrated by the staff. Starting with the front desk where I was checked in by Catherine and continuing until the driver which I received at the hotel hands me my luggage at the airport. Catherine followed the details of my visit until the moment I checked out. The only dislike that I had which eventually i got over was the view of the alley where the boiler or some loud machine was placed. I know that from now on I will request a room that faces anywhere but there. If you are going to New York and plan on taking in Broadway there could not be a more perfect location. I love this hotel so much I find myself wanting to travel to NYC more. I cannot wait until my next visit to the PARAMOUNT which I hope will be in the next few weeks.

We had a very good time and the hotel was close to work.
""Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012
Very nice hotel, within walking distance to subway for access to Manhattan (take the 7 or E and you can get to grand central, times square, penn station). Just a few blocks to local restaraunts. The room was very clean, excellent staff, free shuttle to subway. Overall an excellent place to stay if your touring new york city. One note, if you are considering a "view room" save your money, the view is obstructed by a number of taller buildings (the hotel is only 7 floors). Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely stay again, especially at the rate because of the new hotel discount. If you plan to take a cab from the hotel call one yourself because the service the hotel uses charges a flat rate to specific areas and you can get a cab on your own for cheaper generally.
"Nice hotel in the theatre district"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on May 5, 2012

"excellent!"
I'm a Japanese and stayed this hotel to accommodate some visitors from Japan. Bath room was specious and bath tab was deep. Hot water was always available with water pot, and Japanese TV channel and news paper were huge plus. Close to Japanese grocery (three of them!), and book store. Breakfast buffet has rice and miso soup. I really love this place. […] I'll definitely come back again! Read more
"Zen in NY - calm and tranquility in the big apple"
My husband and I decided to celebrate Valentine's Day in New York. We live in Westchester and wanted the convience of hopping of the Metro North and walking to a hotel near Grand Central Station. Our hotel was just what we wanted - the staff was professional, the service excellent, the room was furnished tastefully and had many amenitites such as a […] towel warmer in the bathroom. It was also quiet. We would highly recommend this hotel and would go back! Read more
"Very nice hotel"
We enjoyed our one night stay at the hotel. Service was first rate and the quality of furnishings and room size were very good. We were upgraded upon arrival which was excellent. I recommend this hotel for upper accommodations in NY. Location is central at 38th and park ave just south of grand central. Easy to get to sights and activities in NYC.
"Hotel Kitano NYC"
I booked the hotel as part of a luxury evening get-away with my wife new year's eve 2011. The hotel was fantastic. It was on the pricey side from my perspective but for NYC I think it was competetive. The room was quiet, the hallways carpeted and quiet too. Decor was simple and tastefully done. We had a King bed room overlooking Park Ave to church across […] the street. Small but nothing out of the ordinary for the city. Nice touches with room safe, heated towel bar, terry cloth bath robe, marble tile bath, plush bedding (and clean). We needed an iron and housekeeping was quick to deliver. I needed to store an ice pack in the hotel freezer and the front desk accomodated. Front desk people were polite and hospitable. Only disturbance was some all night partyer's leaving the hotel and waiting for a cab at 6am curbside. We had the window cracked open for fresh air (it was a mild evening) but as soon as I closed it the loud mouths below were muted. Read more

"Second time we've stayed there LOVE it"
This is the second time we've stayed at the Kitano, and will definitely stay there again. Tranquil, clean, and polite/efficient service. Convenient location so that we can walk to Grand Central and 34th street shopping, and the Hi-line. And, we love the tea machine in each room - with complimentary delicious Green tea!
"We'll stay there again"
The Kitano met every expectation and wish we might have had. It is clean, sleek, and comfortable without being pretentious. The front desk staff was solicitous, but cool. The concierge was always willing to assist, but somewhat remote. The best part of our stay was the bathroom (GREAT water pressure making for a first class shower, wonderful products) […] the bedding (luxurious linen and comforter) and housekeeping staff (room was spotless). It's big enough to get these services, but small enough not to feel lost in the crowd. Read more
"Kitano Hotel- NY - Great location - Great Hotel"
Our stay was excellent in every way. Hotel facilities were superb and the staff gracious. The 66 Park Ave location is outstanding. We will return in the future and certainly recommend The Kitano to both business associates and friends! Very pleased with all facets of our stay. John B - Seattle, Wa,
"Kitano NYC"
Upper East Side/Murray Hill Neighborhood. 20 min walk to the heart of time square. 45 min walk to the Bowery (LE) -- and 45 min walk to Central Park/Museum Row. 5 blocks from the East River. Bed needed to be a little firmer. But LOVELY beautiful CLEAN (bedbug free) Hotel. WOULD definately stay again.

"Can't beat the location"
The room was beautiful, and very clean. Had a great view of the empire state building. Would definately stay there again. Centrally located in a very nice neighborhood.
"Kitano Hotel"
Overpriced hotel. They only had green tea in the room, no coffee. Only Asian food available in the two restaurants in the hotel. Parking was expensive. Charged me a full day's parking for only parking five extra hours. When I was waiting in the lobby for my car to return from the garge (20 minutes), I was rudely told to sit down," because it looked […] bad standing up in the lobby". Not at all what I expected.... "Nice hotel in his area - if the price is right"
The Kitano is a high quality business hotel when if you are going on a "low price" week in NYC... the prices seem to ebb and flow. Nice sized room, attentive staff and detail. In other weeks when prices are overall higher it may be priced out of your company's guidelines, but you never know.

Great hotel. Nice location, room was huge and very clean. Had an awesome view of the Empire State Building too. I would definitely stay in this hotel again, and hopefully get to try the sushi at their restaurant downstairs!

"Non smoking rooms not non smoking"
This hotel caters to a smoking population. On a floor so designated non smoking, the room was filled with the odor of stale smoke. There were no other rooms available. They stated they had an ionizer which never appeared. Very uncomfortable if you are allergic or find smoking unpleasant. This was for a family wedding and I suffered despite repeated […] attempts to resolve complaint. Food and drinks were also very expensive Read more

The hotel's location is great. Great size. No waiting and the check in personel were very professional and helpful. With out any request, they upgraded my room, a spacious, beautiful corner room overlooking Park Ave in Mid Town. Expensive but if you can find this hotel at a good price, definitely worth the extra.
"Great location, great hotel."
Small but comfy room. Did not have an ironing board and iron, however.
"Outstanding Hotel"
A wonderful little jewel with incredibly kind and helpful employees. The bed is one of the most comfortable too.

"Pleasantly Surprised!"
Read the good reviews of thr Kitano before staying, but the hotel more than exceeded my expectations. The room was comfortable and larger than I usually get in NYC. The only very minor complaint is that the towels were not very plush - more like dish towels than bath towels. However, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel.
"An oasis of calm in the 'City that Never Sleeps'!"
We picked this hotel because of its high ratings on Hotels.com and Trip Advisor. Having been to New York twice before and knowing how hard it can be to find calm and quiet, we were sold with the number of comments that said the Kitano provided just that. It does! We arrived early and received courteous and professional service in a calm and understated […] lobby. Our room was available immediately. It was very clean and, in the style of the hotel, simple and understated. There was a small window (about half the size of the wall) but we had a clear view of the Empire State Building, which was beautiful when lit at night. The room itself was silent and it remained that way. We needed extra towels, as we are a family of 4, which were provided the second we asked. The service was good and professional throughout. The Kitano defiinitely provides an oasis of tranquillity and was a wonderful place to lay our weary heads each evening. I have never stayed anywhere in such a quiet hotel; nor on such comfy beds with very good quality bed linen. Grand Central is within a few minutes walk; the New York Public Library and Bryant Park within an easy 10 minute walk and similar for the Empire State Building. We enjoyed our stay and would stay their again. Read more
"Great Hotel"
Great location - less than a mile from Javits Center. Windows are triple paned - quietest hotel in NYC.
"Great hotel and great location"
Room was very comfortable and bright with a nice bathroom. Staff were very helpful. Nice touch having an umbrella in your room to use if raining. If you like tea or coffee in the morning, bring your own as they only provide green tea bags! If we are back in New York, we would definitely check the price of this hotel - we got it at a special price on […] Hotels.com. Hotel very central to many sights and only 2 blocks from Grand Central. "Misleading"
We were a little disappointed with the Kitano, especially for a four star hotel. There was nothing very awe-inspiring or Asian, and for the money you could stay in a nicer place. It was just a basic cookie-cutter chain type hotel. The staff was mixed. When we got out of the cab upon arrival they didn't really help with the bags or open doors. Once […] inside they did take our bags, but disappeared, so we had to grab them and carry them ourselves, which wasn't a big deal - just a little odd. The room we were offered was clean, but pretty worn, so we asked to change rooms. Oddly enough they ended up giving us a room with "a view" of industrial vents vs the street view we had before. The condition of the rooms was about the same. I was afraid to complain again, because they probably would have put us in the basement. The service was decent on the last day, so maybe we had bad luck in that regard; however, I wouldn't really recommend the hotel as anything special. If you can get a good price and are just looking to be in the city, then it's probably OK, but if you are looking for a unique New York experience - this wouldn't be the the place. Read more
