"Stay here if you must"
04/28/14 Gary F Highspire, Pennsylvania
Stopped at this Days Inn for the night on my way to Clearwater. Upon check in found out that the restaurant was closed down months ago (but still listed on the sign out front) the pool was closed for repairs ( and when I walked past it looked like it had been closed for several months) the room was clean enough, but the furnishings looked pretty worn out. went to take a shower in the morning and had to turn the hot water on full blast just to get it warm enough to shower. Found it very interesting that there were packets for coffee and tea in the room but no coffee maker or microwave for hot water (and trust me the water from the tap would never get hot) There were about a dozen other hotels in Starke and I wish I would have picked any of them but I chose Days Inn because I've stayed in them before and they always seemed OK. The only good thing I can say is that Avery at the front desk was very friendly and helpful when I checked in and the hotel is right along the main rd so it was easy to get back on my way in the morning

Ok, I needed a room, had been driving for 16 hours with my daughter age 24, and her 2 twin boys age 4, heading to Disney. Had to take a smoking room, very understandable, we didn't have reservations. He handed me a remote for the tv and said to call when I got to the room to activate it. Well, it didn't work and I had 2 boys who wanted to watch tv while we settled in, they were very full of energy as you can imagine. They said they would send someone over right away, had to wait an additional 10 minutes but he got it working. The beds were ok, the room a bit small but we only needed to sleep and bath. Couldn't get hot water for boys bath, my daughter had to take a cold shower, the hair dryer is from the 50's ??? (long hose with a nozzle type end to it) would not got warm enough to dry a caterpillar. Bath seemed dirty needed upgraded or regrouted. Not real happy with room, but the guy at the desk when I checked in and the guy there in the morning were both really nice and professional. The "breakfast" area is a bit small considering they have 100 rooms. Didn't eat there we were in a hurry, did a drive through...
"Two night stay"

The noise insulation between rooms is terrible. I was in 136 - my neighbor in 134 stayed up ALL NIGHT talking loudly keeping me awake ALL NIGHT.

This hotel needs a lot of TLC and updating. The breakfast area was much to small, seemed like it was an after thought and not much thought put into it. The rooms were dreary and not clean--lot of mold and mildew. My mother has COPD and this mold and mildew was not good for her at all. The outside noise from trains and traffic was very disturbing.

The location is very convenient, right on the main highway through town. Although it is an older facility it has been renovated and seems to be maintained well. It is pet friendly and there was ample area for walking our dog. The room was quite comfortable. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

This hotel was a convenient stop on our trip. Good location and the price was right. They did have free breakfast, but it wasn't as complete as some others we have had.

The only really good thing was the air conditioner. The climate control was very comfortable. The only PTAC I have experienced where the room was actually comfortable. Other than that, the hotel is old and not very clean feeling.
"Good for the Price"

This place was adequate for its age and price. The room was clean and did not have that overwhelming smell of air freshener some motels can have. But it does show its age. I can recommend it if price is a consideration to you.
"A little dated & overpriced"
I expected more and at a better price - my bad. I mostly stay at Days Inns and most are good to acceptable. This one was way over priced at $63 net with AARP discount. The carpet was dirty looking, the couch seat torn, microwave damaged and randomly beeping, faucet in sink defective (but operational to a degree). Staff were friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast was good with waffle machine but coffee weak. The outside facing room doors could be a security risk but to counter that a police station is very close. The area was quiet and several restaurant s were nearby. The building had a poorly kept feeling. I would pass this one next time.

Stayed in room 135, handicap room. The room was clean, but no laundry bag. No microwave as shown. On the refrigerator, the freezer was frozen solid. Very limited TV channels couldn't find HBO as advertised. Tour bus stayed second night, ran motor for at least an hour after parking and at least 30 minutes before 6 AM the following morning. It was stationed outside of our room which was annoying. The shower flooded the bathroom floor and the bathroom sink also leaked badly on the floor. Will never stay there again. 02/09/2014.
