The hotel enterance/foyer was under renovation and obviously looked very poor.I'm sure once the work is completed it will look good.

Would not go back ..beds where hard and the cobstruction was too loud

Great location, great rooms. Lobby was under construction but whatever. Great place to stay in Montreal.

location was central to anything on St. Catherines or Crescent. very safe and well lit. parking below for $20/day, only complaint was the slow draining of the bath tub after a shower

Comfortable, modern, spacious and good value. Really appreciated the blackout curtains. We were on 9th floor so it was very quiet.

Perfect location in downtown Montreal. Adjacent to excellent Italian, Med., Greek, and other ethnic eateries...and the hotel restrurant is very good too. Very convenient (walking) to shopping, the centres of the arts, museums, and McGill University.

First we arrived very early in the morning after driving through traffic from toronto, we arrived 5am we checked in went to room only to find out they changed my room reservation and it was pre paid! I had 3 kids with me, we had to go back down stairs and complain then he gave me another room, we went back up only to find that room hadn't been cleaned, […] towels garbage everywere so again very tired going back down to complain to get another room, we got another room went up, looked fine upon entering right away put kids to bed within 30 mins room phone rings he wanted to change rooms again stating floors had not been vacumed I told him room looked fine and kids already in bed! He should have read that before he gave us room! 2nd thing is I hung the do not disturb sign out right away when we got there and went to bed only to have the cleaning crew knocking at my door at 830 am can they not read! Then when we got up we left the sign on as we don't want anyone in room and they ent in anyway! All they compensaited me was a breakfast! Very unhappy with this hotel and service! Read more

Novotel was clean and friendly however it is not close to good restaurants so some help from the hotel in locating restaurants within walking distance would be very useful. Otherwise we had an excellent stay.

This is our 4th trip to Montreal, and have stayed at this Hotel before in '06, and are still impressed, considering the price we paid booking through Hotels.ca. Just a perfect location off St. Catherine, with everything within walking distance. Enjoyed our week at the Roger's Cup, with some shopping to boot. Stay away from the overpriced mini-bar and […] water. Requested a refrigerator (no charge) upon booking, and was perfect for keeping our 2L water, pop and leftovers cold. Much better than the BW, but not a 4*. Recommended. Read more

The location of the hotel is great! However: 1. there was no normal front desk, there were 2 little desk and the 2 people working were in no rush. 2. Our 2 double bed room, the rooms with a view are extremly small and the bathroom has no real door, no lock, no fan, no bathroom things(lotion,etc.) and was a bit busted up. 3. because it was so small the […] extra roll-away bed we requested, they said could not fit. 4. we finally got a room without the view, (looking at a opening in the middle of the hotel) that was bigger and got out the roll-away bed, the was room had a real door but still no lock, lotion, fan and those little things. 5. The gym has 1 universal and a couple bikes and tred mills, not what was expected. 6. No pool. The only good thing was the comfy bed and the location of this hotel. We come every year to the Fantasia festival and have tried several hotels downtown. This one seemed the best in service and cleanliness. The location is awesome. Right off St. Catherines and close to Concordia University, the location for Fantasia. They have a very nice workout room too. The room was very clean and our view overlooked Rue do La Montaigne […] (to the east), which was very nice. They had free internet in the lobby, which could probably be advertised better on the website, but not a big deal since you just have to ask. It would have been nice to have a pool, but I knew this going in, so not a big deal. I thought the mini-bar could be managed better. We never use a mini-bar, but the front desk warned us not to move anything or the room would be charged. I think you should just go back to the old fashion way of having your maid staff check what has been taken. We would have liked to have used the fridge to keep our personal drinks cold, but were afraid to use the fridge. But since there was an ice machine on the floor, we managed with a bucket of ice. Very clean modern hotel location the best close to everything. Will always be staying here next time in Montreal.

We stayed at the Novotel Montreal Centre over the August long wend and couldn't be happier with the experience. A short walk from both a subway stop and St Catherine's shopping district, location wise it's great - all of the sights and attractions are either a max 20min walk or breif subway ride away. The hotel is well maintained, has wonderful staff […] who are pleasant and helpful and just plain nice! We didn't eat the hotel, but the food looked and smelled amazing! Stayed here for one night in July 2011. Asked to switch hotel rooms because the first one we were given looked/smelled like it hadn't been cleaned in days. Second room was slightly better. Poor service at the front desk. Would not stay here again.

This hotel is in a perfect location! Close to the train station, wonderful shopping and an ideal location if you are attending an event at the Bell Centre as we were! I would 100% recommend this hotel!

We had 2 rooms and neither had cold water. The only temperature of water available was scaulding!

After having lived in Montreal for 35 years returning for a couple of tourist days demanded a downtown site. The Novotel was the perfect location. What could not be walked to, the Metro could be used. The staff was courteous and the garage parking attendant could not have been more helpful. The hotel was super close to the Bell Centre, Ste. Catherine and Crescent Street, making the location ideal. Lots of stuff to do nearby. Found hair in the bathtub and on the towels though - not lots, but enough to raise slight concerns. Hotel service was great, but had issues regarding breakfast being included. The hotel staff had us running in circles […] trying to get the issue sorted, despite the fact it was on the reservation. The staff was apologetic but did not go to any extra lengths to resolve the situation, nor did they do anything to make my friend or I feel like valued customers. Make sure you print your confirmation email and have contact numbers on hand if you book to include breakfast. Overall, a great hotel and I would stay there again with no second thoughts. Read more

Always love the Novotels and I've stayed in a few and recommend the one in North York, Toronto, to our out-of-town guests. I was a little disappointed in the Montreal downtown Novotel, only because it was not up to the quality of all the others I've stayed in. It had been renovated, but it looked it and felt it. We arrived at 10:00 pm, there were no bellman , no one to carry or help with our louggage. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone

This Hotel should be taken down.. it is so dirty...could not believe ... i have stayed at Novel before... U.S and toronto.. but this is real bad.. service in bar was bad.. and room was dirty with hair in sink and bathroom in lobby was disgusting . Great location only . Check into another hotel.

Some attendants were polite, some displayed the redeness associated with French Canadians. The hotel was under renovations during the say (May 2011)

We just needed an overnight stay in Montreal to catch a cruise ship the next day and this hotel filled that need quite well. The location was great and included a full buffet breakfast.

We were told we could check-in early because of an appointment, but kept showing up to be told it wasn't ready. We found the Novotel Hotel in downtown Montreal to suit our needs perfectly. We chose it for its close proximity to the Bell Centre, but found it to be a great choice for style and comfort as well. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was good, the beds comfortable and the stay was great overall.
