We chose this hotel, because it allowed pets and the price was right. However, when we got there the location was a bit scary. On the upside the staff was very friendly and quite helpful. Overall it was a decent hotel for an old building.

Good hotel for the price. The location is also great. Both Cedar Falls and Waterloo were very accessible. Breakfast in the morning was also nice. No big frills, but the location and the price made it worth it.

On arriving at the hotel with a guaranteed room and after a phone call to say we had arrived and would check in later the hotel had given away our room (we checked in at 9pm). It took at least 20 minutes to get checked in only to have the key not work. To top it off we had to go down twice to to get a new key to even get in the room - this took another 20 minutes. They did upgrade our room and after asking reduced the room rate by $10.

"Not bad for a night"

I was under the impression that it would have a fitness center...and the area wasn't exactly safe for running outdoors...but we stayed because we had 9 kids aged 12-17 and three adults and needed as few rooms as possible and the suites were excelent for that.
