Most visitors begin and end their Southland jaunt at the Los Angeles International Airport. As the nation’s busiest immigration port, LAX is a modern Ellis Island. The airport, convenient to the Beach Cities, has its own tourist attraction. The retro-futuristic Theme Building, built in 1961, resembles a flying saucer. Today, it houses a restaurant.

Staff was wonderful and very very helpful... However we had the unfortunate sighting of prostitutes in the hotel late at night. They apparently had rooms there and were bringing thier clientele in with them. It was very apparent what they were up to and the physical acts taking place as they walked the client in was repulsive. Grabbing, swatting etc.. Dont bring your children here. For what appeared to be an upper class hotel this was shocking.

The breakfast service was awful. The plates, glasses and untensils were not clean. A few times they ran out of plates and utensils. They put out plastic utensils, styrofoam plates and cups. The lines for food were long and when we did get our food we had to wait for table to clear. The help was rude and flippant when we complained about watery eggs, empty milk dispensers, dirty tables, etc. The manager's reception was almost as bad as the breakfast. There were long lines for drinks, empty bowls of tortilla chips and burnt popcorn. The public restrooms lacked soap and sometimes toilet tissue. The room was clean but the help was skimpy with the bath towels. We stayed there a week and each day had to call the front desk to request a couple of more towels. The location is not pretty nor in reasonable walking distance of any shops, restaurants or parks.

We thought this was a very good hotel for the price and area. The rooms were well-appointed and comfortable. We had a room on the fifth floor towards the back of the hotel which we thought was quiet. We didn't hear planes during the night, although I did hear an occasional one after waking up in the morning. This was not an issue with us. It was strange that the windows facing the outside were "frosted" so you can't see out. It would have been nice to look out, but it wasn't a big deal. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the buffet staff was very friendly. If we're back in LA, we would definitely stay here again.

Me, my husband and 8 year old daughter enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The only downside was the breakfast. Ohter than that the hotel was pretty good for the price.

My husband & I have stayed at this hotel before because it is convenient to the freeways and easy to get around the Los Angeles area without getting tied up in downtown LA. The price through Hotels.com was excellent. I had initially reserved rooms directly through Embassy Suites and canceled it in order to use Hotels.com and get the better rate. the complimentary breakfast was great and hotel service overall was good. The only downside is that I thought the $21 price of parking daily was high. The other downside is request a room on the opposite side of LAX since sometimes the noise of the planes was distracting.

My husband and our son were in line for breakfast for about 30 minutes. When they got to the counter, they were asked for their ticket, which they don't have (because I got it and I forgot to give it to them). When they can't present any ticket, they were asked for the key, which they don't have it too. Next they were asked for their room number and the clerk can't find the room number in the list too. At that point my husband was really embarrased because of the people behind him. But anyway, the clerk was linient and went ahead and give them their omelet order, however, the damaged has been done. What would be in the mind of the people behind him - some might think that he and my son just sneak in to the hotel for breakfast. I think something must be done about this ticket thing.

I travel for business all over the country, my stay at Embassy Suites LAX in El Segundo was a personal pleasure trip for Christmas. I booked the hotel for convenience as my parents live in El Segundo and wasn't looking for all the amenities I normally require on business trips. Was I surprised about everything at this hotel. The people especially were amazingly into customer care and service 100%. The rooms are fantastically comfortable. I had 4 teenage girls visiting and spent most of their time with me which made the 'suite" a perfect match. Plenty of room. I couldn't be more impressed. Relatives that paid twice what I did at a major airport hotel 1 mile away, cancelled their room and moved over to el segundo embassy suites after visiting my room.

Loved the hotel. Front desk personnel was great. Enjoyed the happy hour and complimentary breakfast. However, I booked two rooms and both were 80 plus degrees. Very uncomfortable and the air did not work at all. Called the front desk but they were unable to help. I guess engineers are not on site and the air could not be fixed. I spent the entire evening and next morning sweating. Had to take another shower. Other than the air conditioning not working, the hotel was very nice and very clean. I would recommend this hotel, but confirm your air works.
