good location for me s I am there to work and the beach not importantGenuine Expedia guest review
"Shopping and Beach"
This hotel is located right next to the Ala Moana Shopping Center parking lot. So convenient to just walk across to the shopping center and spend the day. Across from the Ala Moana Shopping Center is the Ala Moana Beach, I loved it. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good hotel; sketchy neighborhood"
The hotel is huge but close to convention center and major mall. Depending on direction going, some areas around the hotel are not ones you'd want to dawdle in, particularly at night. Hotel consists of several towers and some shared facilities. The tower I was in had a small but well laid out room but no balcony. The pool's hours are too short and due […] to a separator of the shallow end is a difficult one in which to swim laps. There's an excellent mandarin restaurant on floor 3 of the hotel. Service is passable but doesn't match that of many properties in Honolulu. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Weekend Getaway from the Hustle & Bustle"
If you need to stay somewhere convenient to the convention center with a lot of shopping and dining options, this may be the place to stay for you. We are local kamaaina and live on a neighbor island that wanted to get away from our busy schedules. Maybe we stayed during a busy weekend, or not? It may be like this all the time. I guess staff too busy […] to show and express that welcoming hospitality to the locals as shown to the malihini so we're kind of bummed and disappointed. We are paying customers too! Hats off to the hotel's basement parking attendants; they were the only ones who made us feel welcome and gave the time to answer our questions and give driving directions! We were also there to scout if this would be the place to bring our children for a vacation but now have second thoughts. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"City facing tower is super noisy in the morning"
Room is very small for the price (even at half price discount). Well furnished, but as with the hotel overall, with small pictures in ridiculously large frames. Overall not bad, but my room was on the side of the tower above the loading bay at ground floor. Starting around 5 am, there were very loud noises from an endless procession of trucks pulling […] up, and backing in with that warning beeping. Even though the room was on the ninth floor, the noise is trapped between the hotel and next door building, and echoes are amplified all the way up. Horrible sleep. "Nice hotel close to beach and shopping"
Overall experience was enjoyable. Set amidst the shopping center and very close to the beach made it a convenient place to stay. There was a situation in the middle of the night with a very unruly guest who was disturbing the entire floor. The hotel took care of this situation immediately and had the guest escorted out of the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
We stay here often when we have to fly over to see family or for doctors appointments from the outer islands. The rooms are small but have always been clean and quiet. Much quieter than the hotels closer to the zoo which have noisy night clubs. Self parking is $20 extra per day and spaces are very tight or you can valet. There is no in-room dining service, […] but so many food choices in and around Ala Moana shopping center. Easy access to freeways and airport. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"there are other choices"
I have stayed several times due to shopping convenience. This time arrived by car and was informed the valet was full so I was to self park. It was not obvious where to self park so I instead went into reception and told them what had transpired. I give them credit for rectifying the situation and getting me valet parking but it was obvious the car […] person had taken it upon himself to say valet closed. It could be due to to two women in a small Chevy, ya think? The other disappointment was no room service, no pool bar and needing to use the room key to move the elevator. For the price it is not worth this hassle so I won't be staying again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I always stay here when going to Honolulu for medical needs. One can walk through Macy's to the Ala Moana mall where there are restaurants and a food court. It is easy to catch the 19 0r 20 bus back to the airport. And one can easily get to Waiki if desired. The area is safe and quiet.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"NICE HOTEL CLOSE TO ALA MOANA SHOPPING CENTER"
ARRIVED EARLY BUT GOT A ROOM WITH NO VIEW ASKED TO CHANGE ROOMS AND FOR $20 MORE A NIGHT GOT A ROOM ON THE 27TH. FLOOR WITH A GOOD VIEW OF THE MOUNTAINS AND CITY. KING BED AND LARGER ROOM WITH BALCONY.Genuine Expedia guest review
great location, easy to get a taxi where ever we wanted to go. Mall is right down the ramp on the 3 rd floor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Although the hotel is a bit dated, it was very clean and it's in a great location. Pool area, not so great. Also no room service but super close to the Ala Moana shopping center where there are a number of restaurants. Service was great and staff helpful and friendly. I would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perfect location for shopping"
We stayed in a 1BR Ocean View suite. Had our two kids. They have a sofa bed in the living room. First room we got the Bed was broken !!! They moved us to a higher floor room and all was good. Great location for shopping. Busy reception. It has a 3 star hotel feel around it including the rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Average.....because of parking challenges!"
Usually like Ala Moana Hotel because of convenience to shopping center & being able to avoid Waikiki traffic. However, this visit was horrible due to NO PARKING....night club users took all valet & hotel parking. We parked down the SPOOKY street. Then, hotel manager was not so gracious....but after much discussion.....returned my $20.00 parking fee!!!! […] Ouch! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The hotel was close to shopping mall"
It was very convenient . Shopping mall and nice restaurant were next the hotel. Bus stops are around the hotel. Room was cleanGenuine Expedia guest review
hotel accommodated my 99 yr. old mother's request for roll-in shower; thought we had to wait until 3:00 pm check-in, but staff was able to prepare the room so wait was minimal.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Getting a bit ragged.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We only stayed overnight, but it happened to fall on Good Friday - it was quite busy - check-in went very smoothly, even though there was a line, the front desk clerks handled all in a timely fashion and they were very courteous and friendly. We used the valet quite a bit and they were all extremely courteous and FAST!!! They were kept very busy all […] through the night but we always got our car in just a few minutes! Elevators are fast! "NIce hotel, right next to the Ala Moana mall"
Good location for vacation and the business traveler. Easy to get to H-1 and to the airport. Close to the beach.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel next to the Ala Moana shopping center"
Hotel is near Waikiki beach, walking distance of about 3 blocks. Being the hotel is right next to the Ala Moana shopping center expect a lot of people in this area. The hotel is comfortable but noisy, especially at night. Great restaurants on site although higher priced than what we are used to.Genuine Expedia guest review
"For a nice staycation"
What I needed was a home away from home for a romantic get-a-way. I got this in the Ala Moana Hotel. It is less than 10 minutes walking from my work place so after work I could hop back to my room and rest before a night out with the other half. Its close to Ward Warehouse, so I could catch a late movie, and also close enough to Waikiki where you can […] go out for drinks afterward. Its also far enough away from Waikiki where the rooms aren't nearly as pricey as some other places. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quiet for sleep"

"Reasonable priced hotel near Waikiki beaches"
Hotel right next to the Ala Moana shopping center with lots of shopping and fast food restaurants, if that is what you are looking for. Very busy area, lots of traffic and people. Nice family park across the street with a nice beach and only a short walk. Rooms we had are compact but comfy for 2 people. Biggest issue is the traffic and people noise, […] which if you are a light sleeper is bothersome, but it does depend on whether you are on the ocean view or mountain view side, so you should request the mountain view for the quieter rooms. This is our second visit here and we will stay again when we come back. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good Hotel For a Reasonable Price"
It was as rated by others. A good hotel at a good price. The only problem was the old fashion material in the bed covers. Other than that I was very happy. Great buffet breakfast!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Staff is not flexible"
I stayed there for 6 nights n extended another night. However for the extended night, I list my breakfast coupon and inform the staff about it and all they say was too bad, there's nothing they can do about it.Genuine Expedia guest review
Overall great experience. Loved the room!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent very nice and clean near shopping center and restaurants.Genuine Expedia guest review
Convenient location next to the mall and Convention Center. Ask for a room in the high tower to avoid noise from garbage trucks that woke us up at 6AM every morning. Maid service was spotty as number of towels varied daily.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Location; Great Rates!"
Located away from the high-traffic Waikiki area, next door to Ala Moana Shopping Center. Lots of places to eat and shop at Ala Moana; free Wi-Fi; easy parking $20 and less congestion. Clean and comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very small room"
Not impressed at all. The room was very small and overcrowded with furniture. Refrigerator in room was so noisy we had to get up and unplug it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Location perfect for me"
If you're looking to stay near Waikiki, but not right in Waikiki, then this is a good location for you. Not a far walk to Waikiki or the beach.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Enjoyed clones to shopping area!"
Great stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Beds should be guaranteed"
Requested a king bed, but ended up with two doubles. Too small for my wife and I to comfortably sleep together. So, we each slept in one bed. Unfortunate since ours was a romantic getaway. Fortunate it was only one night. True that bed arrangements are not guaranteed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We have been at this hotel 2 years ago and our room was much roomier and biggerGenuine Expedia guest review
"beats the competition"
We had originally checked into a different hotel in the area that was supposedly the same star level. It was terrible. For the star rating in the area, this was a great hotel in a great location for a great price with great views and service.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Although our stay in Hawaii was amazing, Our stay at this hotel was less than par. Check in was kept to 3pm. Our flight arrived early morning and we were forced to drive around with our luggage before being allowed to check in. After a 11 hour flight, I was less than pleased. We had to pay $75.00 to park in valet. The hotel staff were rush rush. It […] was like they were trying to get us in and out as fast as they could. The good news is that the restaurant on the 37 floor was AMAZING.. Dinner for two is a must. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
great room, staff were courteous. clean linens. will stay again, except for the price which was quite high due to demand that week( 5000 people for convention)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"employees not sympathic"
the hotel was clean, and well situated but the employees of the reception desk and of the activities desk were not empathic neither sympathic at all.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great amenities at a fair price"
This is a really nice hotel with better than average amenities (especially the gym and pool). What it really lacks is location as it's not on the beach and not that close to the action in Waikiki. Other than that it's a great hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location for shopping, proximity to beach,"
We always enjoy staying at the Ala Moana Hotel because of its location. Local friends and family can visit us and also shop at the Ala Moana Center and dine in the area, too. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice if you only spend one night..."
This hotel is nice if you are only spending one night before catching a cruise or have connecting fights. For that purpose its location is very convenient. Also convenient is the proximity to the Ala Moana Shopping Center with a skybridge. But if you want professional and courteous service from staff and at restaurants, this is not the place to stay. […] To get a good cup of coffee in the morning (yes there is a coffee maker in the room) it will take a walk to the shopping center. If you want to have a mid afternoon cocktail...it will take a walk to the shopping center. And if you want take out from the restaurants or room service, it will not happen. I would not recommend this hotel, again, unless you are staying one night to head for a cruise, or a connecting flight in which case the location is very good. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is convenient to Ala Moana Shoppiing Center and Waikiki without being in the center of it all. The hotel staff seemed to do well even though it seemed that there was a large convention there at the same time. The check-in, check-out, and bell service were all timely and pleasant.Genuine Expedia guest review
The Ala Moana hotel offered the best rate of all the hotels I looked at for my stay in Oahu and it was well worth the cost. It's not the hotel with the most frills, but it's close to the beach and across the street from a large mall, centrally located in Honolulu, close to restaurants, close to public transportation, and an easy drive to pretty much […] anywhere on the island. Parking was $20 a day, less than at several other hotels and well worth it to be able to make last-minute decisions about what to do any given day without having to count on public transportation. An "Expedia Expert" in the lobby can help you with any organized tours you might want to take. The noise from the garbage truck before 6 am every morning could be a problem for people on lower floors. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
