The pictures lead us to believe the rooms were more updated than they truly were. Our shower did not drain and nearly flooded the bathroom and the neon light for the hotel signage was right outside our window. However, the staff spoke wonderful English which is always helpful and the proximity to the train station was really convenient.

Overall I was very pleased with the Hotel Morgana. Their facilities were nice and quaint, plus the free breakfast offer through Hotels.com really made the stay. My wife's luggage had been misplaced and the hotel staff assisted greatly in helping us talk with AlItalia and negotiating a pick-up point for the bag. My three criticisms of the hotel are as […] follows: 1) The hotel is advertised as being air-conditioned, but the AC is only turned on during the summer months. The air was nice in Rome during our stay, and the windows opened, so that was not so bad. 2) The hotel sets up a driver service that must be paid in cash, but you can get a cab for half the price. It was neat seeing a driver waiting, but we got charged an extra 20 Euro over the original quote due to us having to file a claim with AlItalia's baggage department. 3) While the hotel is no-smoking, the floor we stayed on was under construction and the staff and crew smoked constantly while working on our floor. Thankfully the window opened. The surrounding neighborhood was nice and offered several restaurants, plus was close to the Train Station which offered numerous amenities and a late-hours pharmacy with an on-staff doctor. Beautifully decorated but rooms are quite small. We stayed two nights and couldn't sleep with a mattress so hard as well the pillows. Great breakfast and service. Excellent location but took us 30 minutes walking to find after taking the waterbus. I would recommend take a water taxi even though more expensive.

Good value for the money, location can't be beat for quick access to train station. We had a family of 4 in one room and we literally had to turn sideways to get between and around the beds. Although the hotel is conveniently located a couple blocks from Termini Station, the area overall is sketchy and not very safe to walk around at night. The staff was not very welcoming and seem annoyed at every request. The only useful thing of this hotel was the free wifi for 24 hours if you buy anything at the lobby restaurant.

The hotel is located one block from the Rome Trainstation, this made it very easy to get around. The hotel is clean and the staff is pleasant enough. The rooms were adequate and clean. We did get our upgraded room the next day and it was was quite nice with a view of the main street from the fifth floor. . Breakfast was a good deal, plenty to eat, . You can take the subway at the train station anywhere in Rome very reasonable and easy to use . It is true what they say about the pick pocket people.them in action , mostly young kids 10-12 yrs old they travel in 2s. The patio resturants next to the hotel are all good. . I would recommend the hop on hop off bus. You see all of Rome and you get off at such places like the Vatican, Coloseum Trevi Fountain and most other attractions. You can even stay on the bus for a tour of Rome and never get off. You can have the front desk staff make reservations for you. You can pick it up next to the train staion one block away. We enjoyed our stay at the Morganna and for the money it was worth it. You can always pay more but we didnt go to Rome to spend time in the hotel room. The Hote Morgana is curious. The rooms have all been renovated in a stylish and appealing modern way. But. One can easily break a leg because stairs appear randomly at unexpected places, and are hard to spot since the carpet does its best to hide them. The mini-bar is empty: You have to call room service to stock it, which pretty much misses the whole […] point of having a mini-bar. The hotel still charges for internet access, so I did not go online as a matter of principle. The door to the minuscule elevator is too small to admit a decently-sized suitcase. The stylish (and tiny and difficult-of-access) shower lacks a tray or any way to hold soap, etc., but you would not want to spend much time there anyway since the water temperature alternates between very hot and very cold no matter how you try to set it. On the plus side, the breakfast buffet is competitive with other hotels in the same price range. Read more

We had three people stayed in the room, and it was spacious. the hotel is located in a convenient location -- very close to transit station, and lots of restaurants in the area. AC was not turned on when it was above 80F in late April. We were told by the staff they could not turn on the AC until May 1st. Price was little high.

Convenience to the train station and nearness to the metro were some of our favorite things about this place. We booked this hotel because of the great reviews online, and because the photos online painted the picture of a modern hotel, with recently renovated rooms. Unfortunately, we were clearly given a room on a floor that had not been renovated. […] Immediately we felt duped and disappointed - this is the hotel we were to spend Christmas in. The room was very small, which we could easily have tolerated, but it was almost entirely mirrors. Perhaps this is attractive for some travelers, but not for us. We found the staff generally unaccommodating. Every time we had a request we were told to call back or come back in half an hour. Never were we given immediate service. We found this very off-putting. The bathroom looked recently redone and was the nicest part of the room, but there was absolutely zero counterspace, which was hard for two travelers. The area is very close to the train station, but all of the restaurants are quite touristy and at night it is a little daunting to walk through. Not the most comfortable of neighborhoods. Perhaps they are about to renovate the floor we stayed on, but the masking tape barricading the doors throughout the hall we stayed in, coupled with missing ceiling tiles did not give us a great impression of our floor. We stayed at four hotels throughout our trip, and this was the only one where we felt like what we read online did not match what we received upon arrival. Having had such great luck reading other hotels.com reviews and ratings, we were truly disappointed. We would have been able to enjoy Rome more if we had a comfortable place to stay, especially during the holidays. Read more

Overall, we were pleased with the hotel. The room was very small, but we expected this for a budget hotel in Europe. We had a quadruple room with 4 twin beds for a family of 4. The location was ideal for travel by metro or local tour bus. Easy access from Rome Ciampino airport via the terravision bus service to Termini Station. The hotel was 1 block from the metro / train station, which gave easy access, but as expected the surrounding neighborhood was busy, crowded and slightly run down. There were several restaurants on the same steet as the hotel. The Termini station also had a variety of shopping and small eateries. We purchased tickets for an open air "hop on and off" tour bus at the Termini station. THere were several tour lines to choose from. We encountered several street peddlers for the bus lines, but would advise looking for the tourist information booth just outside the Termini station and dealing with them for the tour bus tickets. We never felt unsafe, however did not stay out very late (usually back at the hotel by 9-9:30 pm). I had read reviews prior to our trip about the hotel front door being locked all the time. This was true, however did not seem as ominous after staying here. The locked doors are for security, however, as I said, I did not feel unsafe on the streets immediately surrounding the hotel. The annex was about a block from the main hotel. Although the room was very nice, modern and clean, the annex was not ideal--a bit desolate to walk to, big gate with key to enter, not a comfortable feeling to do this alone. The only other issue was the shower. The door was only a small partition and took a bit to figure out how to keep water from not getting all over the floor, and water temperature was difficult to regulate--got very very hot suddenly.
