    While the location of the hotel is a little off from the main highway and a little confusing to get to at night (even with GPS), the quietness was... appreciated. Upon arrival, we were greated by very helpful front desk staff, information provided about area attractions we inquired about, and then shown to our room. Our room was very clean; the bedding and furniture is what sets the hotel apart from competitors. The bathroom was spotless and the bath linens were crisp, white and no soiling evident. The toiletries from Paul Mitchell were a pleasant surprise to us. The breakfast the next morning was very good; in fact, it excels above the competitors in the area and is consistently hot and well prepared. We are repeat customers who don't mind about bragging on this particular hotel--very well done! by Kraig  from DFW on 04/16/13

    Overall room was ok. My husband, toddler, mother in law, and I stayed in a room with 2 queen beds. It was quiet, pretty clean, and convenient. The down side was the running toilet that wouldn't flush again until it stopped running. Also the bathtub needed to be rechaulked.

    The Lufkin Courtyard is a great place to stay. We attend many functions for SFASU and this hotel is by far the most comfortable place to stay. The beds and pillows are super comfortable - plenty of pillows too. The bathroom has plenty of space and shelves. There is not a continental breakfast, but the benefit is a very restful and comfortable stay.

    For the price you pay I would have thought the room would be in better condition, writing on the bathroom wall, shower curtain rail not fully installed. Shower curtain not fully clipped in, cracks behind the bathroom toilet, peices of would wood chipped off of middle table cabinet.     The hotel was nice and clean, but the beds were very uncomfortable. Our 7 year old even complained about the bed!!!!! Also, the next morning someone had loosened the bolts of our back tire. I assume they were going to steal it and got caught in the act and ran off. My husband almost had a wreck on the freeway when the tire fell off our vehicle, jumped […] two medians, and almost landed on the other side of the freeway. We are just glad that he is OK......So......when you park, make sure it is under a light in the front!!!!!! Read more

    The tiles in the bathroom in the pool area are slick and really slick when wet. My son fell and got hurt. The hotel did nothing. I thought that was just really nice.

    This recently built hotel property sits off the highway so nearby traffic is/was not a problem, nor did it disturb our sleep. The rooms/beds are clean and comfortable as was the room temperature. This property also offers plenty of parking for both cars and recreational vehicles. At this writing, complimentary Starbuck's coffee or tea is available […] in the hotel lobby. A variety of snacks are available for purchase, and a microwave oven is available for cooking and/or heating applicable snacks. These amenities are conveniently located next to the Front Desk and very carefully and neatly maintained. The hotel also has a small dining area where one can purchase breakfast, lunch, soft drinks, and some adult beverages. This hotel property also offers an exercise/workout room. Though I did not use this amenity, looking in, I could see that it was clean and well maintained. For anyone attending a wedding, birthday, etc, this hotel is conveniently located next door to Wal Mart and Sam's Club. Also, K-Mart and Target are just up the road, making it handy to purchase a gift upon arrival instead of carrying one around while traveling. The Outback Restaurant is just next door as are several other restaurants including the usual fast food chains, and Starbucks. But these commercial properties do not interfere with access or departure from this hotel property. In short, it is perfectly located. Read more
