Check-in was a breeze, and the hotel makes a good first impression. It's in a good location - easy walk to many restaurants and shopping, close to the beach. After arriving in the room, I was disappointed to find that the reasons I booked the room were not present in the actual room. Within a couple minutes, I went back to reception and discussed the […] issue with the front desk. The service there was superb - it took a few moments to check my booking, and the hotel had availability to move me to the room I had actually booked. No one was sure what the mix up was, but it was quickly and easily resolved. I did not go in the pool, as it is a very small and closed off area, though it did seem to be rather empty in the late morning. It did look clean and well-kept. I could see staying at this hotel again, especially knowing that the front desk is top notch and tried their best to assist. They made me feel welcome, and after the initial setback, really did strive to make things right. The level of service seems higher than similar hotels - I never had to wait here as I have at other Waikiki reception lines. This is the most consumer unfriendly hotel that I have ever stayed in!!!! We made a reservation for March 15 but because of airline flight changes, we had to add the night of March 14. When I checked in, I requested that we check in for both nights, 314 & 15. We were told that they could not do that because they were treating our reservations as two […] separate reservations in their computer. There fore, we would have to call "Room Control" between 6 and 7 AM on 3/15 to see if we could stay in our room. I called at 6:15 AM on 3/15 and I was told that we would have to vacate our room by Noon and check back in after 3PM. It is a Japanese hotel and nobody speaks clear enough English to discuss the stupidity of their position. The did offer a $60 fee option for me to keep the same room. The internet is not WiFi and it has very poor service. There is no heat in the rooms and there are no extra blankets. The room temperature dropped to 63degrees F during the night of the 15th and I froze but they didn't ruin my vacation with my grandson. There are many many better hotels adjacent to this property. My wife would probably say that the room could use modernizing, and maybe retiling in the bathroom, and she'd probably be right. But for the money this was a great hotel in my opinion. Wonderful service and super-friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. No frills, but nothing missing. I would stay here again without hesitation.

I reserved a room last minute on a friday night and they were very accomodating on getting me a room. Once we got there they let us check in at 11:30 a m and they also gave us a wonderful ocean view king room on the highest floor. I was satisfied and very pleased with the service.

This hotel has very poor customer service all the way down from the management to the housekeepers. To begin, we booked a king bed room and was given a double bed room with tiny full size beds. Then, the water in the bath tub flowed extremely slow. Not a bad place for the price, I was alone on a business trip, so it was OK. Just about everyday I was bothered by the staff who had to come into the room for some thing or other they claimed was effecting the neighbors- clogged drain, etc. When I awoke at 3am to depart, there was no hot water.

Well, the pictures look better than the hotel itself. Especially pictures of the rooms. We had an OK experience but the partial ocean view rooms barely have any ocean view at all and the rooms are not as spacious as the pictures seem to suggest. The staff were slow to understand English at times (kinda weird since we are in the US after all) but was […] courteous. Parking (with the hotel guest discount) was still $20 a night which I thought was a little steep. Good location though - close to everything (beach, shopping, etc). I stayed here for 5 nights and thought it was worth the money. It's one of the cheaper hotels in the Waikiki area and so you can't expect everything to be perfect. The room is a little run-down but not bad at all. It was clean except the shower which had some mold under the soap dish. The shower hot water in my room would cut out occasionally for some […] reason (it wasn't for lack of hot water since I could solve the problem by turning off the shower and then turning it back on). My room didn't have a bathroom ventilation fan which I thought was odd and may have been an issue if I hadn't been traveling alone. I liked the location as it was only a couple blocks from Waikiki beach. The bed was decent. There's no business center, but wired internet is offered in the rooms and wi-fi in the lobby. The staff were friendly to me the couple of times I talked to them. I tried the on-site restaurant for the breakfast buffet, but didn't think it was worth the money. Denny's is, however, just next door and provides a better value. Overall I was happy with my stay, but next time I might splurge on a nicer hotel. Read more

Everything was great about this hotel with one exception.....all the hookers that work just outside the front doors. My wife and I were looking for a place to use for free hotels.com nights and chose this location. The hotel is undergoing some updates so the rooms you find here are the older rooms. You have to go to the hotel's website to get updated rooms and other packages/options. Nevertheless, the hotel is a very good location relative to the beach (short walk). […] The market across the street is good for food and other items. The Parking is $20 per day which I was not happy about but is understandable in this area. The concierge desk was helpful in suggesting things and the staff was ok. I kept getting phone calls in the mornings and when I answered, the person hung up. I have no proof but based upon the constant questioning of when I was checking out coupled with the fact I leave "do not disturb" signs on hotel doors wherever I stay, I think they were trying to passively agressively find out when they could clean my room or if I was in there. Pretty sketchy thing to do, but like I said, I have no proof. I just got calls every hour every morning and they would stop around noon (check-out time). Overall, a solid stay. Moved to this hotel from another hotel that was old and claustrophobic. The person at the desk couldn't give the rate that I had seen on Expedia and so used Expedia app to book room. Decent sized room and clean. Easy to walk to everything. Noisy street a couple of the nights and crying child in the next room one night but overall not bad.

The hotel staff is a bit slow and some are more accommodating than others. It is clean, the beds and pillows not very comfortable though. Skimpy on towels. But the location is very good and Housekeeping staff showed up right away for emergency cleaning of room. I would recommend hotel ESP with a good rate.
