The staff was great. The room was fine. Not outstanding but comfortable enough. We faced west and got a complementary upgrade to partial ocean view on the 14th floor. Perfect location right in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. 5 minutes walk to the beach, many, many dining and shopping options in walking distance. The staff is super friendly and accomodating (we changed rooms once and it was not a problem). Very convenient, in heart of Waikiki. Avoid renting a car except to drive around the island, besides, Shuttles & cabs are plentiful and the hotel parking is too high @ $30/day. Deskman Reid was very gracious and helpful. Don't miss Happy Hour at Shore Bird on the beach.

I have a wonderful time stay at Holiday Inn for 5 days during the Christmas time. It is worthwhile to recommend family or couple who are in honey moon. The hotel closes to the shopping center, Waikiki beach, and food market, which you can walk to reach. Personally, the condition of room is much better than those kinds of expensive hotels.

Hotel was clean and convienent. We stayed two nights and talked to several concierges who didn't seem to know what they seem to know what they were talking about and were a little pompus about it. If you are a self-sufficient traveler, the price was right for this one.

When I arrived back to my room one night, I had to call the housekeeping desk for someone to collect the old towels and furnish new towels. Housekeeping apologized and asked if I had the "do not disturb" sign hanging outside my door and I confirmed that I had not. Housekeeping called back asking if I was sure no one had come to clean my room as the […] housekeeper responsible for cleaning my room had logged my room in as having been cleaned. I confirmed once again that the room had not be cleaned as everything was left untouched including the tip we left out for the housekeeper. I was thanked for my response and was informed that someone would be notified. Upon check-out, I informed the front desk that I did not receive housekeeping during my full stay at your hotel. Again, I received a quick apology and was informed that I was all set for checking out. There is a sign that sits in the vanity area next to the bathroom sink that indicates that guests should notify the housekeeping desk or the front desk if they have received unsatisfactory service and would not have to pay for that portion of their stay. I spoke with both housekeeping and the front desk and no one mentioned that I would receive any sort of discount for my stay at your hotel. If the hotel does not intend to uphold what it means on that sign posted up in the vanity area, I would suggest that that sign be removed from each hotel room so as to not create false advertising. jennifer at the front desk is a classic example of aloha. she was wonderfully helpful every time we visited with her. the hotel is in the midst of waikiki, great location, plus their security was good. get a room higher up and you'll have a decent view. lower rooms overlook roofs. join their club membership and you can have late check out for half price […] (6pm) if available. great if you have an evening flight. the bathtub was made for a child, only useful for adult showers. you have to use the street level elevator entrance is you have a baby stroller. that entrance area is noisy and more industrial looking. this is the only fault we had. This resort has beautiful rooms and gardens and pool and beach! It is right next door to Whalers Village shopping and across the road from the golf courses. It managers to be peaceful in this great setting.

Could see clearly to the west, partial beach & sunset view from the balcony, and could clearly see inland. The room and overall hotel was very clean and comfortable. We had a late night flight out and the hotel was able to hold our baggage in a secure area after checkout until we needed it. Great hotel, but the Beachcomber is not on the beach. It is a block from the beach. Room was great, but our room overlooked the AC system and very noisy. Moved to another room the was a little quieter. Still the view was of the roof over the restaurant. Expedia advertised room with a balcony, but it was not usable.

My only problem was that I drove from Pearl Harbour - this was my first visit. The traffic was frightful and slow, sidewalks crowded.. plus the sign to the hotel was subtle and I missed it on my first pass...once I returned (slowly on one way streets) and pulled into the valet area had great service. Very good staff. Helpful and pleasant.

In general a reasonable choice for the location. Close to everything and just one block from the beach. Rooms in upper floors are much better than rooms in lower floors even within the same category. Connecting rooms request was not honored by the hotel at the time of check in apparently because it was not written in the reservation. In any case, I think that the act of asking me for a kind of evidence of my request lacks professionalism and ethics. The only good about this hotel is location. The slow elevators, ice machines on only selected floors, the small room, the tiny shower and bath tub, the untrained staff (they just painted our room when we checked in and actually asked us to bring our own luggage down to the front desk when I asked to change room). I can overlook these things with a 3 […] star hotel, however, one thing I can't stand is that their idea of an ocean view room is really not what I expected. I could see the ocean by angling my chairs on the balcony by 90 degrees and getting the partial view as most of it blocked by other hotels. Hotel location is great if you are going on vacation and not renting a car. Stores, resturants, malls, beaches, nightlife and even hiking and running trails are close by. This hotel is in the center of Waikiki but try to explore the island to see better beaches. The cleaning staff was great. The first day they came a little too early to clean our room […] but the days after they waited until later, which gave us time to get ready for the beach. Some of the front desk people were nice and helpful but others seemed to have an attitude. The elevators seemed to get croweded at times. I didn't like not being able to have a late check-out "late flight", but at least the hotel stored our bags and allowed us to take a shower in an empty room "30mins only" after a day at the beach. The pools is small but its nice to hangout there after a day at the beach and have some drinks from the bar. Overall, the location is what really matters and this hotel is in a great location.
