We loved Robson Street and the West End so the location of this hotel was perfect. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room itself was a bit run down. The smell of mildew was present during our entire stay though that may be due to the constant moist weather. Still, they could have benefited from using Febreze on a regular basis. The […] housekeeping staff though friendly was extremely slow. We stayed three nights and didn't receive housekeeping service until well after 3pm on two days. One day we opted to pass on service because they didn't show up until after 4. Every one of these days we were out sightseeing all morning & afternoon. The daily breakfast was limited but appreciated as we were on the go most of the time. The underground parking was convenient and not overly priced considering how difficult parking is to find. Just about what we e Expected a large room with plenty of space yet not well-maintained no elevator heaters didn't work well so we had to use space heaters Furniture was definitely old and not very clean smelled a little funky Key card didn't work for the parking lot so we had to take a walk all the way around the hotel to get into the parking lot from […] the inside to go and open the doors by jumping on the cable. All in all if you're picky and you want a really nice clean place to stay the greenbrier will not work for you on the other hand for the price $79 a night for a large room with a full kitchen it was nice and we actually kind of like staying there even though it was funky. When we got there we had to pay extra fees. The rooms were big which was a bonus. It was super hot in the room and we had to open a window because there was no temp control. The suites are very large so there is not lack of space. However the bathroom door swings into the bathroom making the space cramped. I'm a small person and it still bothered me. We enjoyed our stay and would stay at the Green Brier again. The beds were comfortable and even though we were in downtown it was a very quiet 2 nights we spent there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Only complaint would be the ironing board was not very good.

It was ok overall,. the room came with a small living area and kitchen, which I never used, the only problem is that the bedroom had no windows! The staff were very friendly and helpful, there was complementary breakfast, but the coffee was not good, and the pastry items were stale.

Great hotel in a wonderful neighborhood. We stayed here for six days and found the executive suite to be just like an ordinary apartment. The front desk is extremely helpful. The only downside was that the breakfast provided is just a couple items... Not enough to take the place of a real breakfast.

We only stayed for a night, but arriving Vancouver late (10 p.m.), we desired a good night's sleep. "Pillow top" mattress was not comfortable. It had a plastic cover or something, and everytime you moved it made noise. I think there was no heat and I was very cold in the room, and no blankets except one tiny thin one was available. The linens and towels […] were clean however. The bathroom smelled like pee and damp - I think it was the old cloth shower curtain not being washed or replaced, and there were hairs in the bathtub. This hotel calls itself a chic boutique hotel newly renovated in 2010. This is a run down 40 +- year old hotel no AC no elevator.The carpets in the hall are all old and stained the smoke detectors are yellow with age. The breaker box is exposed in the room which turns out to be a good thing as the hair dryer trips the breaker when turn on high. The […] only new thing was the tv. Whoever painted the walls slopped the beige paint on the white ceiling anf left it like that.Also no one painted behind the curtains. The breakfast was a few piece of bread ,muffins,coffee and tea. No juice or fruit very skimpy. The furniture was cheap furniture and the linens were mismatched.The bottom sheet was a flat sheet too small to tuck under the mattress and very day we got less than a full set of towels,sometimes we were missing face cloths and some times hand towels. Other guest were asking why they didn't have bath towels.The bathroom walls were patched but not painted over,electric switches were all out of level. If this hotel didn't say they were boutique ,chic ,newly renovated or have designer furnishing then it would be different. They lead you to beleive that they are much much better than they really are. If you have been to a motel 6 it is better than this. We have stayed in Vancourver several other times and paid about the same for much higher quaility and service. Read more

Without a doubt the worst hotel I've ever used. I can't believe this one even rated an entry on the Expedia site. You would only stay here to help you appreciate every other hotel you might ever use in your life. Dirty, noisy, no air conditioning to speak of, bad neighborhood, poorly maintained, $20 a night for parking. Ugh. Never again.

The hotel is located in a very exciting part of Vancouver. The facilities are ok and not elaborate, but it was clean and a good value. The neighborhood is great for a walking tour as Robson St. has a number of nice shops, restaurants and gathering places.

Conveniently located hotel in downtown Vancouver, about 5min away from Coal Harbor and 10min away from the Convention Center. Lots of food places nearby. Room was comfortable with kitchen corner, refrigerator, and coffee maker. Only disadvantage was that breakfast in the lobby only was available at 7.30am.

Great location, but the hotel is definitely ageing. We were given an upgrade, which was really nice. Unfortunately, the room did not have any cooling so we had to sleep with the windows wide open. This may not have been a problem elsewhere in the hotel, but our upgrade put us right on Robson street on a busy (noisy) night. The bed and everything thing […] else was really great. For our five-night stay we found the hotel ideal for exploring Vancouver on foot and by bus. The kitchenette was a plus point for the times we wanted a change from restaurant food. All the staff were friendly and helpful and this is a hotel we will certainly use again when we return to Vancouver. The simple breakfast of muffins and sweet cakes with coffee/tea we found to be far too sugary for our taste and could be made much more healthy with the addition/replacement of cakes with wholemeal bread and yogurt or fruit. We actually did not bother to take the breakfast on two days, preferring to make our own in the room, as neither of us like sugary cakes and muffins so much. tHE FRONT DESK PUT A CALL THROUGH VERY LATE WITHOUT CHECKING WITH ME. IT TURNED OUT TO BE A CRANK CALL AND THE INDIVIDUAL KEPT ME ON A PHONE FOR AT LEAST 45 MINUTES CLAIMING TO BE THE OWNER AND APOLOGIZING FOR A DISTRUBANCE IN THE HOTEL. DUE TO THE FACT THAT I HAD JUST CHECKED IN, I WAS UNAWARE IF THERE HAD BEEN ONE. I TOLD HIM THAT I WAS NOT BOTHERED […] AND HE WENT ON TO OFFER ME ALL SORTS OF COMPENSATION AND BEGAN TO ASK SO INAPPROPRIATE QUESTIONS, THE FLAGS WERE RAISED AND I DID GET OFF THE PHONE. I FELT VERY UNSAFE AT THE POINT AND WAS CONCERNED ABOUT WHAT MAY COME OUT OF THE PHONE CALL AS HE HAD PROMISED ME A FREE SPA TREATMENT. I WAS IN THE CITY ALONE AND WAS LEFT VERY UNEASY. I TEXT MY CHILDREN BACK HOME AND ASKED THEM TO CHECK IN WITH ME FREQUENTLY THAT DAY TO ENSURE ALL WAS OK. NOTHING HAPPENED AND I DID SPEAK TO THE FRONT DESK. NOTHING WAS DONE TO COMPENSATE ME FOR THE UNFORTUNATE INCIDENT AND I WAS NOT VERY HAPPY. THE DESK SHOULD HAVE ASKED WHAT IS THE GUEST NAME BEFORE THEY PUT THE CALL THROUGH TO MY ROOM. We stayed one night, and although it is an older hotel it was clean and spacious. True there is no elevator, but that didn't bother us. The hotel has some age to it, but again the price reflects that. Our room apparently (303) didn't heat up very quickly and before we had even reached our room the front desk had someone there with a plug in heater which […] did the job for us. Breakfast wasn't much, but for the price I didn't expect breakfast to be included so for us it was a huge bonus. Hot coffee/tea and a muffin/scone/toast was just fine.
