"Not worth the stay for the price you pay"
It was one of the worst 4 star hotel I've ever stayed at. (1) The parking garage closes at 11pm and if you need to check in late, you must first park at the loading zone, go through registration and get a key to get through the garage, and your on a one way street, so drive around the block again because the loading zone is ahead of the garage. (2) Front desk called a cab for us, when the cab arrived we got kicked out of the cab because we were only going a few miles. I went back in, and the front desk lady had nothing to say... Let me explain the discrepancies of my eval. When I first checked in my room had a wet spot in the middle of the room on the carpet, the bathroom had hairs(you know which ones) on the floor and in the bathtub. And the bed was slanted as if the box spring was broken. "Clean Hotel, but restaurant needs help"
Checking in, we were greeted by a knowledgeable and friendly concierge. The hotel was clean, welcoming, and very nice inside. My only complaint with the building itself was the fact that parking was $40 a night, but I hear that's par for the course for Seattle. Seems high, but at least it was in an underground garage. The room was clean and updated, […] with a nice view of the Seattle city center. Great location all in all. We decided to try Frolik, the outdoor seating restaurant on the fifth floor. While it seemed like a cool location and a fun place, the outside was first come first serve so we had to stalk potentially open tables. Our first waitress was courteous and attentive, but when we found a proper table, things took a turn. We were excited because the menu seemed nice and the atmosphere was fun, but my girlfriend and I were passed by probably six waiters without any one of them stopping to help us. Keep in mind, we were sitting there with empty drinks. I asked one passing waiter for help and was told someone would be with us in a minute. Ten minutes later- nothing. I asked another guy and heard the same thing. He came out another five times, did a lap around the patio, avoided our table, checked himself out in the window, and kept going. We had enough. We walked in, found him and asked what happened to our table, he gave us a clueless look and asked what table we were at like he had never seen us before, and we walked out vowing not to return. It's a shame, because I wanted to try the food, but I can't, in good conscious, patronize a restaurant with such self-absorbed and despondent servers. "Hotel Motif - Lackluster service"
We arrived at the hotel around check-in time of 3pm. We had booked and prepaid and requested a water view room. At the time of check-in we were told it would be 20 minutes, they would hold our luggage and they would notify us via cell phone. No one called within an hour, so we returned to the hotel and checked with front desk again. Still no room per […] request was available. It would be another 30 minutes.....another person took down our cell #. We waited on front sitting pavilion and then had to go back in and talk to yet a 3rd person. This person got the Manager involved and we finally got a room 2.5 hrs after arriving at the hotel. Our room was nice but it was apparent the bed had not been changed, it was rumpled underneath the cotton coverlet. There was not adequate covering on the bed and we called for blanket. Also the website Hotels.com advertised each room to have "luxurious bathrobes" - we had to call to GET a bathrobe, they were not in the room, when they came they were 2 different robes....not alike at all - definitely not a luxurious spa like experience. "Quick trip to Seattle"
We booked this trip at the last minute for our anniversary weekend. There were literally 4 hotels in downtown that had rooms left. So we paid a premium for our last minute decision. Would I do it again, probably not. It would have been cheaper to book a hotel outside of downtown and drive in and pay to park for the day. We went to a Mariner's game, […] and tried to find some public transit to ride, but was unsuccessful. Not to mention the "event" that was taking place on Sunday morning. To much traffic and people. The hotel is located right on fifth so you are only a few blocks from great points of interest. It is newly renovated so the exterior and the lobby were super clean and very welcoming. This was the third hotel we stayed in on our vacation so we had a few places to compare it too and I wasn't thrilled with the stay. The beds were advertised as Queen […] but that was the smallest Queen I've ever slept on. The pillows were really small and it was hard to get comfortable in the bed. The most disconcerting thing about the room was the pumping. I understand that the just renovated but the shower kept backing up and took forever to drain. The toilet didn't flush very well which isn't always great. The AC worked most of the time but I had to call down to the front desk to get it to reset and finally get cold.
