We had a great stay. I was delighted to find a complimentary evening meal, especially since I forgot the sandwiches at home. Very nice staff. Wonderful room. The only thing that would have made it better would be a hot tub. Everything was closed on the Monday night we stayed.

At the cheap price I paid, I was very surprised at the quality of the hotel, the size of the room, and the friendliness of the staff! The location was perfect; it was only 5 blocks from the concert venue. Staying at this hotel added to amazing trip I had in such a beautiful city: Minneapolis.

the hotel is very outdated. the carpet was ripped in all of the hallways (causing me to trip more than once), the microwave didn't work. & the television in the bedroom also did not work. the staff however was very friendly & the breakfast was great.

The rooms are spacious with lots of extra seating in lobby. Small pool, but the breakfast had made-to-order omelets, sausage or bacon, fried potatoes, waffles, cereal, pastries, fruit, and excellent service. Adjacent to skywalk.

This was a last minute stay. I was staying at the Days Inn by the UofM because my wife was in the hospital and had to move to a different place because the rate at the Days Inn doubled because of the Minnesota vs. Michigan State football game. I drove past it 3 times before I finally spotted the sign. The lobby was clean, and the front desk person was nice. The room was a suite which was nice, but it was definately dated. This was problem a very nice hotel in 1986, but now looks very out of date. The TV in the living room and the bedroom both sucked and were definately out of date. There were 2 beds in the bedroom and one of the comforters had a huge stain on it. If my family would have been with me I would have called the front desk, but since it was just me I slept in the other bed. Overall for a last minute stay and I what I spent on the room it was a great value. If they ever decide to update the rooms I could see this hotel being fairly expensive considering it is downtown. I am staying at this hotel for a medical internship at HCMC that is 2 blocks away. The hotel could use a few cosmetic improvements, but the staff is always very kind and does all they can to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are clean, and the beds are extremely comfortable. Two days before a I arrived the hotel was sold. Despite that they knew that they were going to lose their jobs in December, the staff was fantastic. The desk staff remained patient with customers who were upset about not gettings points or discounts. The breakfast was first rate. The hotel was sold between the time of our booking and our arrival. Yes, the hotel is dated and needs a facelift. The clerk at the front desk was exceptional in his assistance. Hope he stays with the new ownership. I will be sure to consider staying again if I visit Minneapolis.

I made reservations at the Comfort Suites but upon arrival the signs said Aspen Suites which was a bit confusing. I guess the name had changed between the time I made the reservation and my arrival. The hotel employees were extremely helpful and friendly - very good attitudes. The complimentary breakfast... especially the "made to order" omelets was […] really outstanding and a great reason to stay at this hotel. In addition the happy hour prices and food in the City Lights Bar and Grill in the hotel were also excellent. The room itself was rather run down (no stopper for one of the sinks, broken drawers, old TV stand without a TV inside the armoire, etc...) however it seemed to be getting upgraded and had a very comfortable bed, new carpeting and new sofa. I was not expecting such a nice hotel especially at the room rate I paid. So, I was pleasantly surprised by the well appointed lobby, restaurant and atrium lounge areas. My two room suite was spacious, comfortable and quiet. I felt right at home. You can connect to the Convention Center ( a hike), the Metrodome and other destinations via the very nice […] Skyway which crisscrosses and links downtown buildings. I never had to go outside. I knew about the free wireless service. What I didn't know when I booked was the extensive complimentary breakfast ready every morning including made to order omelets. I was impressed. The bar and restaurant provided an excellent menu choices and my dinner was great. Another plus is the well stocked convenience store at street level should you need supplies or snacks. This hotel has a few quirks. One is the location downtown, and the parking arrangement. The parking garage is hard to find at first, and then difficult to navigate once you're in it. You have to keep getting validation tickets from the front desk every time you leave the hotel. The rooms face into an interior atrium, which limits privacy, though you […] can pull the curtains closed across the door. If you book through Expedia, you are not eligible for Choice Privilege points, which was disappointing. The hot breakfast starts at 7am, so if you have to travel earlier you can only grab some self-serve muffins. In your room, there is a sign next to the thermostat saying the heat only runs in the cold months, and the A/C only runs in the hot months. I was there on October 20th and the nighttime temperature was around 35 degrees, yet the heat was not turned on. Overall, I would not have chosen to stay here if I didn't need to be so close to downtown. Downtown Minneapolis is a bit difficult to navigate by car if you are a first-timer, and getting in and out of this hotel isn't the easiest. Read more
