This hotel is modeled like the Residence Inn, just a step down. The room was clean but they are old and in need or repair. There are cracked walls, water damage, stains on the curtains and furniture etc... The pool and commons area are nice. The hot tub is ok. The area around the hotel was nice and we felt safe. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. I stayed the first night in a lower level and DON"T make that mistake. I heard every footstep from the people above me. The moved me to an upstairs room and it was fine. The door jam was busted from what looked like people trying to break the door down. They also put a $50 hold on your credit card […] in case you do something like, god forbid, leave a dish unwashed. They charge you $30 if you don't do all the dishes. The people at the desk were extremely friendly and helpful. There is a breakfast that is probably not what you would want, but it fills you up. I believe this hotel is a good option if you stay some days, the kitchen is full equipped and you can save some money preparing your own food. Breakfast is good too. I can stay again. Room was comfortable.

We have been staying at this hotel location for many years because we like the location, but we preferred it when it was a Marriot. Some policies have changed recently which we disagree on. For example, the pet policy they recently increased the amount to $15 per day plus tax, a couple of months ago it was $50 dollars per stay without tax. Since we […] normally spend at least 5 nights, this new policy increases the amount thay we have to pay if we take our pet. Another policy which we disagree on is the one for using the kitchen, you as a hotel guest need to wash the dishes before you go or there will be a $30 fine. So probably most dishes have been washed by guests, how can you know that they are really clean, so we have to wash them before we use them and then after using them, which makes it quite a hassle. Generally satisfied. Was not pleased with the local motel automatically charging $30 for a possible damage. I called them and and queried the charge. They said it would take 2 or 3 business days to clear. If they charge, i will contest it. There were no damages or dirty dishes for them to charge me on. Last time i use them.

I was afraid to stay here because of a handful of bad reviews .They ranged from filthy mattresses to horrible breakfast to rude employees. The kids thought it was great to sleep on the sofa-bed with the big flat screen right at their feet! I have absolutely nothing negative to say about our room, I thought it had a comfy ,small apartment type feel and it was just right for our family of 4. And unlike some reviews say we DID have housekeeping come in when we were out AND they always brought plenty of clean towels. I guess they listened to the critics and got rid of the boiled eggs because we had small scrambled egg patties. It was amazingly good for being free!! They had a variety of bread to toast, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, make your own waffles, cereal, yogurt, fruit and a few more things, get here early because it DOES get packed! All of the employees we came across were very nice and hospitable. Its walking distance to I-10 which leads you to everything! 6flags was about 5 minutes away and the riverwalk about 10 in the opposite direction. WE LOVED IT!! Read more

While well appointed, having clean common areas, and in a good location, the room itself was not maintained well. Room cleanliness was questionable - needs a deep clean. The bathroom had a mold smell and carpet soiled our feet when walking around in socks. There were other noticeable things like hairs in the bathtub, the kitchen floor was sticky, water […] rings on the countertops, and wear marks/stains on the furniture upholstery that just gave us the overall impression that the room was not well maintained. it was pretty much an apartment complex turned into a hotel. literally. they were like lil apartments. we had a kitchen bed bath couch and study station. had to ask for a frying pan but fridge work so did toaster microwave and oven. bed was soft and comfortable. breafast was good. ealryer though.

This has mostly been rectified - there was plenty of hot food timely replenished, and two waffle makers so there wasn't really a line during our 6 day stay. We chose this hotel due to the lack of availability at other hotels in the area, due to the late planning of an overnight stay for a friend's wedding. Now we can see why it was the only hotel in the area with vacancies. The first room they gave us smelled horribly of smoke, even though they claim the entire facility is non-smoking. We went back to the […] front desk and were given a new room. Our new room did not smell of smoke, thankfully. The next morning when we attempted to use the shower, no water came from the faucet (both the shower head and tub faucet), due to some kind of issue with the pipes. We called the front desk and asked for someone to come out to take a look and fix it, but after two additional calls to the front desk and and hour and a half later, no one came to our room to help. By that point we had been made late by waiting on the hotel staff and had to check out to leave, without being able to shower for the wedding! There was no manager on duty, so we got the manager's name and card. Several calls to the manager once we were home were not returned!! Do not stay here!!! Read more
