The server was down at the hotel so they could not confirm my reservation when I checked in. I had to pay again to get the room, otherwise I would have had to wait. Then the fire alarm came on very early in the morning. Two worker came to my door thinking I had something to do with it. I was in the shower at the time.

The rate for this hotel was quite good. The room was quite clean and the bed was comfortable. The décor in the main lobby area may seem dated, but it was good. The continental breakfast was also good and offered some choice of foods.

It was the perfect location for my stay. Played a round of Golf at the golf course next door and it was the starting line for the bike ride I was riding in the next day. Room was clean, bed was comfortable. Shower head needs replaced, but that is the only thing.

The staff at The Shilo Inn in Richland, WA was terrific. However, the overall condition of the hotel needs to be updated. I had difficulty with the door lock, the plunger in my sink was stuck in the down position for an entire day AFTER I reported it(maintenance man had a family emergency), the hair dryer quit working the morning of my departure, the […] blanket had several small holes in it and the wall mount night light did not work . I suggest you renovate the hotel; remodel the rooms, install an elevator (it's only a 2 story building) and repair the concrete walkways. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside was the continental breakfast. There was nothing healthy to eat. I know many people like biscuits and gravy, sausage and scrambled eggs and a pastry. I would have liked to have seen some fruit, yogurt and oatmeal. We would stay here again.

It was not good. Our room was dirty. The rugs needed to be vacuumed and the bathroom needed to be repaired and walls where dirty. Also to get in we had a very hard time getting the key to work. It was not an electronic key.

Great location on river. That is the end of the good stuff. This hotel is a total beater. It looks from the outside like maintenance stopped in the 80s. The inside is about the same. Although this is an older facility, it is very clean and well maintained. Beautiful location next to the river and near a crossroads for interstate with little backtracking needed to access each of the three cities. Would stay there again.

The price was good but. But, we were given a room that the bed wasn't made and it was 5:30pm. They gave us another room, which was fine, but the key was bent and it was hard to open the door. They need to update desperately. The rooms are out dated and they still use the old metal keys. They are in an excellent location and have a beautiful river view. […] I won't stay there again. Booked this room for a business associate through Expedia. Ended up needing to extend his stay by one night and was very pleased to hear the hotel would match the rate I received from Expedia! Staff took a while to get back to me and process my request, but this was due to the fact they were training a new employee that evening.

Staff was nice and room was clean, though a little small (queen room) and the buttons had to be mashed for the television. As these are the only things I had issues with, not a bad stay. I really enjoyed the buffet breakfast too, way better than a standard continental. I would stay here again without a doubt.

The lobby is lovely but I was disappointed that it was more a motel than a hotel. Had to park outside in front of the room. No internal hallways. I didn't realize that from the photo. I feel safer walking to my room down a hallway than any "Joe Blow" being able to walk right up to my door off of the parking lot.

This hotel is OK for 1-2 nights. Nothing special. Kind of outdated. Staff is friendly and tries to help. The wireless internet was problematic - did not see the hotel's wireless signal in my room (in outlying wing).

We were traveling with our adult daughter so had two dogs and the pet fee was reasonable; per stay fee instead of per night fee. Free wi-fi was convenient and the free breakfast was good. Not as inexpensive as Motel 6 where we often stay when traveling with our dog but not a bad price for the extra amenities.

Yes, this Shilo is outdated; but we found our room and the entire hotel to be very clean. The staff was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. A hot breakfast was included with the price of the room. The first morning we chose from a limited menu. It was pretty basic, 2 eggs, hash browns and a choice of bacon, sausage or ham. However, it was freshly prepared […] and very tasty. The second morning a breakfast buffet was offered. Again, it was basic, with scrambled eggs, sausage, red potatoes, muffins/toast and choice of cereal. Since it wasn't freshly prepared, it wasn't quite as good; but still adequate, and better than many hotels' Continental Breakfast offerings. The entire hotel is non-smoking, which is a breath of fresh air (pun intended). We had a queen bed room, which was very clean (as stated above). We appreciated that the sink area was outside of the toilet/bath/shower area - even if it was a bit tight. The room was equipped with a hair dryer, pull-down ironing board and iron, a small refrigerator and coffee pot. There was plenty of drawer storage, a desk/chair next to the TV and a separate small round table with two chairs. When we travel, we spend very little time in our hotel room; so it was completely adequate for our needs. The price we paid was very reasonable, including full breakfast - we feel this Shilo was a bargain; and would not hesitate to stay here again. Read more
