PARADISE ISLAND BEACH CLUB - Nassau

Atlantis itself was a beautiful luxurious destination. There were however 2 things I did not like. 1. You are only allowed 15 minutes free internet access/day (not good for a business owner). 2. The 15% gratuity automatically charged to EVERYTHING and ANTYHING you purchase.

The space was huge for the price. We stayed one week in Jan 2013. The kitchen helped us save on meal costs. The grocery store was a few blocks away and well stocked - just more expensive than what we are used to. (Bring as much as you can if you plan to cook much.) There are liquor stores, restaurants, and shops down the street even a Swiss bakery. The office had coffee and hot water for tea. The washer and dryer were nice too. Towels are provided, although they didn't have enough pool towels for every unit (told that more were on order from USA.) The "resort" provided soap, towels, TP, and dishwasher soap; you were on your own for items like shampoo and laundry detergent. I can't comment on resort activities as the activity director was out sick the entire week. Water is drinkable - but heavily chlorinated. There is no ice cube maker; you can buy ice and 5 gal water from the office. Our first unit was called garden view, however we renamed it "Roundabout view" or "street view," the master bedroom and 3rd floor bedroom faced the busy street and we were bothered by street noise all night when we had the windows open to enjoy the weather. Fortunately there was another unit available and the staff allowed us to switch units on day 2 to a "parking lot / tennis court view unit." WiFi connection was good most of the time depending on our location in the unit and the internet speed wasn't too bad. We would return again and consider upgrading to an ocean view unit.

If you're looking for old-world charm, this is the place!

Quiet, out of the way, little resort style hotel. Two good restaurants w/i walking distance. We liked the hotel and location very much as we had a rental car. Would stay there again.
