One criteria i had in picking this hotel was the Parking available, it was not coded like the Internet Service is that there is an additional fee, well they stuck me with an additional $37.00 per night, no choice unless I could find my own parking off property. I was not happy with the service and explination for this, just that I chose to buy it through Hotels.com

Attentive service and large, comfortable rooms amrk this 170-room property. The on-side restaurant has a reasonably-priced breakfast menu. Street parking is scarce and the valet service is an expensive extra. Walking to restaurants, downtown and Georgetown is easy.

Be Careful! They will nicel & dime you. - Charge for parking was $37 per night. They said this was needed for the security of the car. This cost was never mentioned. - When we asked for stuff from the car, bellboy was busy for over an hour and I needed to go down to get it. - I was suprized the car was parked right on the street and not in an enclosed garage. Then, no one was available to discuss why?? - Internet will cost you additional $10. - Breakfast NOT included will also cost you. - When, I tipped the bellboy and the maid (that cleaned our room) they were quite suprized. I guess people angry of being nickeled and dimed do not tip the staff and they treat you accordingly. This being said; It is still a great value for the location and the facility.

The Churchill is very comfortable, old world, but completely renovated. It is not perfect, but has tons of character and so much more refreshing than the big box chain hotels. Only a 3-block walk from the Dupont Circle Metro. Great walking neighborhood with ready access to lots of good restaurant nightlife. If you have time during the day, definitely check out the wonderful houses in the blocks behind the hotel.

Try the Churchill some time, also everything is at your finger tips, White House, Kenndy Center, Metro station (Dupoint Circle, Red line) etc.....

Separate couch and table area by the coffee maker and refrigerator. Bed was VERY comfortable. Separate make up area and show area. We enjoyed the Dupont Cirlce neighborhood. Lot's a great restaurants in area. Easy walk to METRO. They also accommodated a late check out.

The Churchill is located close to Dupont Circle and the Metro - making it very easy to get around Washington DC. My hotel room was small and didn't have a desk (the only negative of my stay), so I used the lounge area which worked fine. The restaurant was very good and reasonably priced - a nice surprise. Overall, I was very satisfied with this hotel.

Room condition was not what I expected. The nonsmoking room I requested was obviously a former smoking room. The smell was immediately detectable and there was a large cigarette burn on the comforter, along with several stains. There were also two places on seperate walls where either the plaster was damaged and crumbling or the wallpaper was torn. My window was located on the ground level next to an alley lined with dumpsters and I was awakened at 4:00 a.m. and again at 6:30 a.m. by very loud garbage trucks dumping and then dropping the containers back into place. This was a Saturday morning. The staff was very friendly and a room service breakfast was fine. The overall experience was not what I expected, however, and I would think twice about staying here again as the rate, though reasonable, was definitely not worth the hassle of putting up with deteriorated room and linen conditions and disrupted sleep.
