The hotel is really decorated nice with modern finishing and rooms – and the location is great. However, it seems like the building was built on the cheap as there is minimal sound proofing. You can hear every conversation in the hall and almost everything in the rooms next to you. In our case it was twin colicky babies. The elevators were down when […] we were there, which happens. On check in, the staff apologized and explained that they would have cookies and water while we waited (forever for the elevator). They had a nice cooler, an empty plate for cookies and a nice sign asking us to enjoy cookies and water while we waited. Problem is, there wasn’t a SINGLE cookie or bottle of water there the entire weekend!! You think they would have done more than stage the area. However, my biggest problem was the way the sound carried and would definitely not stay there again based on that. Read more

I give a 3 to the overall rating because of one elevator was not working. So we have to wait a lot and the elevator itself was very little. So, people + luggage= no many people at that time. Also the safe box at the room was not working because of the battery was almost dead. The room was very nice and clean. The hotel was convenient to restaurants, Tennessee Aquarium, McKenzie Arena and more. The downside is the restaurant and lounge closes too early. 11:30 p.m. Hotel doesn't offer 24 hour room service.

The stay was very good the first two nights. The staff was courteous and helpful. Our last night in the hotel the people sharing the wall were very loud after 1am. There were a lot of voices and laughter and we could not sleep. Security came to the room twice and spoke with the people. Eventually the hotel staff offered for us to change rooms to avoid […] the noise. We moved room closer to 2am and eventually went to bed in a quieter room (on a different floor). I thought it would be worth keeping the business and comping the room. The staff told me that he could not do it and that his manager was not there. The staff was helpful, security came twice, but we should not have to move rooms at that hour and I thought, personally, that the room should have been compensated for. Read more

We have stated here twice for family vacations at Xmas, and love it. Our daughter is in a wheelchair and the access is great. Rooms are large and comfortable; having the fridge and microwave makes caring for her special dietary needs easy. We will definitely return!

Overall, a clean and nice hotel. Convenient to everything downtown. Have stayed there before. The only negative was a front desk clerk who seemed a little put out when I told him the comp. coffee was empty (which it was both days). He said I could go upstairs to the restaurant if I wanted to get coffee. On a very positive upside, I left an expensive […] and new pair of slacks and sweater in the closet. Called on the outside chance I might get them back. Nathan the front desk manager was very accommodating, called me back and told me they had found them. Cudos to Nathan and the wonderful housekeeper who turned them in. The one desk clerk will not deter me from returning. Did not get that he is representative of most of the people who work there. Great location. Stayed in town for Head of the Hooch regatta. Didn't have to drive to finish line. Just walked to bridges and the Aquarium. Everything is really close. Only complaint was that it was a full hotel so waiting for one of the two elevators from 10th floor took longer than expected.

I rented 2 rooms at the Doubletree for a Bachelorette party. The location of the hotel is perfect for all of the nightlife and restaurants. We had exceptional service and the price was actually lower than some other hotels in the area. I definitely reccomend this hotel to families or getaways with friends or spouses.

Great place to stay. Walking distance to numerous restaurants, the Aquarium, the city center park, the Tennessee River, and the stadium where the Chattanooga Lookouts (minor league baseball) play. The only thing I would change about the place is to move the pool area away from the front desk and reception area. It is very convenient to downtown activities and that is why we chose it. Needed a roll away bed but was told couldn't have one based on the room we had. Front desk person did not offer any other solutions or options. Would have been nice to know that when booking the hotel! Also, hotel was understaffed when we checked in. Computers in business center were not fully operational. Sound-proofing was GREAT (and we were by the elevator and ice machine); of course you can't help the noise of kids - especially when people leave their door open:) Nice and quiet at night. Room designed well. Pool not operational for part of the time we were there. Staff very nice.

The overall experience was ok. We did have some exceptional customer service from one of the hotel employees, but the room itself was disappointing. The room seemed tight, the mattress did not sleep well at all, and the air conditioner was having issues which made for an extremely uncomfortable stay. I will not stay at this hotel again.

Beds were unconfortable and extremey high not good for short persons, poor arrangement of furniture i.e. bathroom, entrance door and closet doors banging into each other - good forbid you opening any two of them at the same time, no shower caps, tv remote did not work, no phone book or directory of local attactions, restaurants, movies, etc. no tv channel […] listings, no complimentary coffee other than 2 servings in coffee make for 3 people (most motels have complimentary coffee in the lobby area), and only 2 elevators for 13 floors of rooms (the wait time was ridiculous). We were greeted with a friendly front desk staff and the hotel seemed to be in good condition. Upon entering the very cramped room we noted that we would upgrade to a one bedroom if we stayed there again. The air conditioner left a bit to be desired with regards to the thermostat. It was very loud and did not maintain the room temperature resulting […] in a lot of blanket pushing around that night. The bed was very comfortable however. The showers need to be re-grouted. I closed my eyes and showered quickly! The walls are thin and we picked a week the music festival was in town and seemed to bring loud rude people with it. (not the hotels fault) However, the 4:00am drunks in the hall wakeup call was not pleasant. Anyhow, we decided to have the Sunday buffet. Mistake! It was nothing more than a continental breakfast and the majority of the items were out of stock. The cleanliness of the restaurant again was unsatisfactory. After, we had a refreshing dip in the pool which was pleasant. The seating is comfortable and the temperature controlled salt water pool was nice. All in all it was okay.
