This hotel is conveniently located, clean, the rooms and decor a little dated but overall ok. It was a great value and had a subway stop extremely close to the hotel, and a convenience store in the basement. The rooms are spacious, the rates are competitive and the location is central. What could be wrong? Well, as other guests have noted, the rooms have an odd smell. Even opening the window and going out for an emergency run of room freshener couldn't disperse the odor in my 10th floor room. On the upside the bed was spacious and comfortable and the in-room broadband wi-fi was free and glitch free. I was charged $25 for a buffet breakfast that promised an omelette station but no cook was on duty and the laid-out fare was pretty unappetizing. We only had one night in Tokyo, but we will be going back as soon as possible. The Tokyo Prince Hotel was in a great location, with subway stations nearby, and a few things we could walk to. It is also very easy to get to from either airport. The hotel was very nice though very old-fashioned in a high class Sean Connery as James Bond way. It made me think of somewhere my dad would enjoy staying. If we were residents of Japan looking for a get-away from the city this is the place to be. However we were in Japan to sightsee and the Mita line (closest subway) is not a very well traveled line […] and doesn't connect to much. My daughter was particularly distressed that the pool was closed. The website specified that it was open during the summer but did not in reality open until July 1. The wifi required special equipment for which you must provide a surety. The noise from the hallway was loud. There was a nice convenience store and a shopping arcade that my daughter declared would be perfect for MY grandmother's shopping needs. Read more

TPH very clean. Not a lot of seating in the lobby, but perhaps culturally, it's just not done. The hotel accomodated 3 of us in a room... something we could NOT find at other hotels. The staff spoke English (not fluent) which was very helpful. What I appreciated most, I was able to purchase stamps at the front desk and they mailed my postcards for me. […] AND, all the postcards arrived to everyone in a timely fashion! The twin room is very large for Japanese standards. The staff is very courtesy and spoke English. There are restaurants nearby, but the Shinagawa area (2 stops via JR) definitely have a much much bigger selection. The JR station, Hamamatsu-cho stop, is a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. The subway stop, Onarimon, is 50 yards from the hotel. The Grand […] Prince Takanawa I stayed at last time had free internet using their terminals in the lobby. The Tokyo Prince charged 100 yen for 10 minutes in the lobby terminals. In the room the charge using the laptop was 42 yen per minute with a max of 1050 yen over a 24 hour period. Local phone calls are metered and charged. Overall the stay is good, but I'd rather stay in the Shinagawa area for the huge selection of restaurants. Read more

Very fine but very affordable hotel located at the base of Tokyo Tower. The staff are very friendly and all speak English. Their internet service is not free but is available at a low cost. The hotel also offers a service called "Greener Cleaning Service". If you decline cleaning in your room for the day, they give you a coupon for 1000 Yen that you […] can use in the hotel shops and restaurants. Taxis are standing by out front 24 hrs a day. United States standard size room. Clean and tidy, but hotel needs updating. Elevators were slow and rooms look like they are from the 80"s. 5 blocks from JR line station. But is in a good area close to restaurants and some convenient stores. Good for what you are paying for.

We only stayed one night but wish it was for 10 nights. We were upgraded to a king room. It was large, clean and comfortable. We have stayed in some higher dollar hotels but the staff of this hotel exceeded almost any other hotel we have stayed it. Free shuttle to and from the train station was a plus.... The hotel is very large, and the same is true of the rooms. My room was the largest I have seen in Japan, by far, along the line of large rooms in American hotels. The room was quite clean, but the furniture was old, and the decor was from another era. We reserved through Expedia, but since it was post-earthquake the hotel actually offered better deals. We had a view of Tokyo Tower that was incredibly beautiful at night, and there was a French restaurant next door comparable to places back home.

Stayed at the Tokyo Prince for 2 nights at the end of our Thanksgiving vacation. We booked last minute and it seemed like the best value, turned out it was! I stayed for 4 day at the Tokyo Prince hotel during a business trip. The hotel has easy access to 4 different subway stations and the Yamanote line is about 10min walk. There are many restaurants and bars nearby and the hotel also has a shuttle bus service. Customer service was great, our room had a wonderful view of the Tokoyo Tower and met all our needs. Make sure you go to the Tokoyo Tower, go to the top and you can see much of the city. All hotels should be this good. Best choice for Tokyo. 5 minute walk to train station. Incredible view of Tokyo Tower. Great neighborhood & restraunts. Hotel next to Zojo-ji Temple. 1000yen credit per night for reusing towels and bedding, nice bonus! Perfect home base for use with JR rail pass.
