"very central to eating shopping downtown"
First night we had a downstairs suite with furnace kicking in rather noisily every half hour or so. Switched to an inner courtyard 2nd floor suite for the 2nd night and were happy with that. Our teen daughters were able to walk over to Loyd Center and cinema on their own. Wonderful quality breakfast bar and friendly service. No problem arranging for […] a late check out. "Nice hotel, convenient location"
The hotel was neat, clean and comfortable. We only stayed one night, but since the rooms are larger than most hotel rooms, so I would definitely stay here on an extended stay. The breakfast buffet had a huge selection of hot and cold breakfast foods. The room was quiet even though the back of the hotel boarders the interstate. overall a very good value […] for the price. "We keep returning"
The outside of the building is a little tired looking but the rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean. The pillow top mattress was a bit on the hard side but not enough so I couldn't sleep well.. My brother stayed at a chi chi hotel on the river front that had valet service while I stayed here. Our rooms were larger and more comfortable than his and […] just as clean and modern. The valet service there was annoying and uselessly expensive since they moved the car only a few spaces from where I had parked it. The breakfast here was definitely better tasting, and free! I will keep coming back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was in great shape - having a kitchen to cook, etc. is a huge plus. The free breakfast they serve is one of the best I've seen with all the choices you have. Very convenient being close to Lloyd Center.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Our stay wasn’t unpleasant, but it was challenging right from the start. We were given a room, to find that it hadn’t been cleaned. We were then assigned another room. We had unpacked and were relaxing when our door opened! Turns out another couple had been assigned the same room. We called the front desk again. A few minutes later we received a call […] from someone who identified herself as the manager (although the posted manager on duty was a male) and apologized. That was nice as far as it went. We went about our day and came back super tired, just wanting to relax- only to find our door keys didn’t worked. Another trip down to the front desk (where we got to listen to some poor couple be shuffled off to another hotel, despite having reserved a room AND prepaid). When it finally got to be our turn, we were told that when the other couple used their keys to open our door, it automatically canceled our keys. It would have been great to know that before we went out for the day, perhaps via that phone call from the manager? To have to stand around in line, for the third time, after a long day, to fix a problem that was totally foreseeable, was annoying to say the least. The rest of our stay was nice enough, although we refused to have the room serviced simply because we were afraid something else would go wonky if anyone came in the room. The facilities were fine, but the service aspect of the experience was just ridiculous. Our next trip to PDX will involve a different hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I went here with my girlfriend and we absolutely loved it. It was quite a distance from downtown but a Max station is close, which is cheap and convenient public transportation. We loved our first trip to Portland and will definitely consider staying here again in the near future.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Marriott Residence Inn Portland."
Housekeeping perfomed less than a Vanna White daily drive by with a perfuntory wave of the hand. Towels were not replaced, the dishwasher contained dirty dishes upon arrival and departure. Bathrooms were not cleaned. The litter in front of the door remained from arrival to departure. The answering machine for Housekeeping greeted us with "Housekeeping...this […] is ________. I hope you have a nice stay. Let me know if I can help. ...Click!" And, the beds were lumpy. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice room, poor response to noise complaint"
The room we received was very comfortable. However, the front door leading to the stairwell did very little to muffle the sounds of people making noise outside. This was compounded by a group of high school/college students having a party next door to us that continually spilled out into the stairwell. We called the front desk informing them of the […] noise situation and they contacted their security, which took two hours to ultimately respond. At this point, the noise had subsided, but people were still loudly coming and going. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I didn't even realize there was a full kitchen in there so it was a pleasant surprise! Lots of space, good layout, nice studio apartment feel. I will definitely stay again next time I'm in Portland.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very good, convenient w/ hard beds"
Overall, we really liked the accommodations. Room was quite spacious with additional kitchen and seating area. Grounds and buildings were far more comfortable feeling than a high rise hotel. With one exception (night clerk), staff were very friendly and helpful. Two problematic issues: 1. Mattress was too hard and uncomfortable. 2. Happy hour was great […] with very good food & drink, but was oddly scheduled on only Monday & Wednesday evenings and every other Tuesday (go figure). Max stop was convenient (about 3 blocks away). Taxis were difficult to get during high usage hours (so plan ahead accordingly). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very nice but..."
Friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast buffet was good. Easy 5 minute walk to MAX station, Lloyd Shopping Center & movie theaters. Hotel was bit pricey but able to divide the cost of room with other roommates. Rooms are located in nearby buildings so it may be inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage because you'll need to walk up some stairs. We recently stayed a week at this Residence Inn and couldn't be happier about the stay. The staff were great. The breakfast was terrific. The location was perfect and six minutes walk to the light rail. We chose not to rent a car this time in Portland.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very Convenient and Comfortable"
If you have kids this is a great hotel to stay at. There is a full kitchen to make snacks and lots of space so they are not cramp. It is close to the Loyd Center where my kids enjoyed shopping, ice skating and movies. It is also just a short way to the MAX where you can ride Portlands train system into Downtown Portland where you'll find Pioneer Square […] shopping center, the Saturday market and many more things to see. We really noticed how friendly everyone was. The breakfast was great and the breakfast staff really cared that everyone was having a good experience. The food went a little beyond what you expect at a hotel breakfast. Thanks! The last 2 nights of our stay were in rm 914 and it was smokey smelling. Service was excellent. Very friendly staff especially the breakfast crew. Rates on the high side but the location is great if you like shopping at Lloyd center. Rooms a bit dated but comfortable and clean. The breakfast was the best I have ever had at a hotel. Would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"In town for a wedding"
Overall it was a nice stay. It was like having your own apartment the way it is set up. The food was way better than expected. The rooms were big and cozy. It was nice to walk to Safeway and buy some things and have a full kitchen to use.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great location, close to Max transit"
We stayed for 3 nights and were very pleased. Many positive things, the staff was the very best, helpful and friendly. Room was nice, newer appliances. Big flat screen tv, comfortable kitchen and dining. We enjoyed the pool, its a great size for kids. We also enjoyed the light dinner we were given on Wednesday night. Woke up late at night not wanting […] to disturb family, did not turn on the light, got a water out of fridge not realizing it was one of the overpriced ones that are put in the room with hopes that someone drinks them by accident. I did. Will resent it when I get my credit card bill. If I stay here again, I will request the water and the fire log be removed from the room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good place to stay"
Overall pretty good- only thing I didn't like was the stairs to my 2nd floor room. Construction made for some confusing times when checking in late at night- wasn't clear where to go.Genuine Expedia guest review
We had 4 adults and they gave us a room with a king bed and pull out sofa. The hide-a-bed mattress was very uncomfortable. We even put it directly on the floor and could still feel every spring in the mattress. The pull out was also small for 2 adults.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We were in 411 which is a first floor room next to the street. Traffic was loud, but the loudest noise that kept us from sleeping was the refrigerator. It kept making banging noises all night, even with the ice maker shut off. The fireplace was great, shower was awesome, and location was fantastic.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"OK stay near mall"
Staff was friendly, Check in and out was quick and easy. Although staff did not seem to understand that we had two separate reservations, but we still preferred rooms close to each other. Our dishwasher was leaking when we arrived and of course I stepped in the gigantic puddle... Which they threw a bunch of towels in while we were away. And did not […] remove towels. Coffee and tea and even popcorn n room. Breakfast buffet provided a lot of choices - all mediocre, but edible. Close to mall, but not much else. Must drive to food/drink in evening. "Great value for the price"
Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The train tracks and interstate are directly behind the hotel, but since our room overlooked the courtyard we weren't disturbed by any traffic noise. The heating and cooling systems in the room were vented systems, and not just a system on one side of the room, so the temperature consistent in all […] areas of the suite. I thought the fans were a little loud when the system would turn on, but that might just be because I have radiant floor heat in my home and am just not used to the sound of a forced air system. The breakfast buffet was great. Instead of the typical continental breakfast served at most hotel, they offered hot items including eggs, sausage, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, and waffles. The hotel was within walking distance of a variety of other restaurants for other meals. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

While visiting Portland with my two children we stayed at the Residence Inn - Lloyd Center. This hotel was great with enough room for the children, a wonderful continental breakfast, and easy access to the city. The staff was great, too.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Residence Inn never lets me down"
As usual with Marriott Residence Inn, the room, free breakfast and staff were great. Free parking was very helpful. The neighborhood didn't have much to offer, but it was a convention center location, so that was to be expected. "Probably a fluke but my experience wasn't great."
My room was very well taken care of. The only issue that came up was that the shower didn't work. A small inconvenience, but they had to move me to another room. This put me behind schedule a half an hour, and the room they moved me into was not what I paid for. I paid for a King, and ended up with a twin. I paid for a bigger room, and ended up accepting […] a smaller room. I will admit the bed in the first room was spectacular. I haven't slept that well in a long time. "Residence Inn/Lloyd Center"
Pretty good. Comfortable bed with good pillows. Nice functioning kitchen with dishwasher/coffee maker. Street/freeway/train noise a bit loud at night. Hotel is in a good area for walking/dining out. Good parking. No elevators to get to the 3rd floor lodging, but the exercise was good. Speaking of exercise, the hotel had a very small fitness center and […] the service with the local gyms was inadequate. Upon check-in we were told that we could work out at the Lloyd Athletic Club for $5day. We paid and went there only to find out that the club was closed for renovations throughout our stay. Returned to the front desk for a refund. We were also given a flyer to work out at LA Fitness nearby for $9.95/week which was not honored by the gym. Management needs to sort those things out before guest spend time traveling about with no success. The tennis court/basketball court on property was an odd size and there was a mountain of furniture debris/garbage surrounding the area. Not appealing. The complimentary breakfast and lite supper/snack in the evening were nice. The internet service went out briefly during our stay and the computers & printers near the front desk area, for guest use, need to be replaced and updated. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Bring your own mattress!!!!"
The hotel staff were pleasant and accommodating. At the last minute they gladly switched us to an ADA compliant room for my husband who is in a wheelchair. The room was large, the bathroom was large, and the kitchen was nicely updated. What makes me give this hotel a lower than 5 score were the bed and the sofa bed. The bed was the most uncomfortable […] I have ever slept in, bar none. We have been home two days and my husband is still trying to recover. The sofa bed that my son had to sleep on was also dreadfully uncomfortable with a mattress that you could feel the springs through. He would have slept on just the couch itself but he is too tall and the couch was extremely hard, so he could not get comfortable that way either. One other note, if you are a light sleeper, the trains that go by at 1am and 3am will wake you up as well as the footsteps over head. This hotel could have benefitted with a little more sound-proofing. However, the hotel was clean, the breakfast buffet was the best we have ever seen at any hotel, and the area is nice and convenient. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Residence Inn by Marriott - Lloyd Center"
Checkin The front desk was nice enough and recommended a third floor room stating that it would be quieter. When I checked the room it overlooked the freeway and was very noisy. I went back and asked for a different room and they gave me a second floor room on the inside courtyard. What I didn't mention is that the hotel is like a bunch of condos […] and there are no elevators. Rooms I like the room layout and the kitchen is quite nice for hotel simi-suites with kitchens. Full refrigerator with ice maker. Full stove, with pots and pans. Bathroom sink had a wide counter that has plenty of room for your morning routine. Layout is such that there is enough room but it is not a suite. There is no privacy between the living area and the sleeping area. I didn't like the wireless. don't even offer it if this is the quality of internet you provide. Can't FaceTime with my loved one. Makes for a lonely week. E-mail takes 10 minutes or more to update. Netflix will not run at all. This is their "High speed wireless". Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
A friend and I each booked a room on separate credit cards to lodge 5 members of a yoga group. When we arrived the staff went out of their way to arrange for 2 rooms close together to make our stay more convenient. We found the pull out sofa bed is not comfortable but the regular bed was. The free breakfast was very good with many selections.Genuine Expedia guest review
