Perfect hotel for a honeymoon or anniversary. Wish we could of stayed longer. Location is great. Walk to Boston Commons, Prudential Center, Newbury St. Was a rainy day and we forgot our umbrella. As we stepped outside we were handed one at the door! Didn't even need to ask. Little touches make all the difference. Also, upgraded us to a suite at check-in. Will stay again.

We had a very comfortable single-room but not a suite. It was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was large but didn't have a bathtub - only a shower - a tub with a shower would have been nicer. Staff was very helpful and polite. Location is terrific. Many small shops and the Hynes Convention Center are within easy walking distance and the Hynes subway stop is only a block and a half away. We'll definitely consider staying here again the next time we visit Boston.

I can't believe that this hotel charges what they do. I was not impressed with any offerings at this hotel. The service was horrible. I booked this room 3 months in advanced and paid in full at the time I reserved the room. I got stuck on the first floor (which felt like a basement) with a sweet view of a generator. The staff was of no help at all. Do not stay at this hotel. There are better hotels in Boston for this price.

We had a very small suite with a tv in the living room that did not work. I set the A/C on 66 degrees, but it never did get very cool - even over night. There are no vending machines, so expect to pay high prices for the minibar items - $7.00 plus tax for a Ginger Ale and and Juice. The bed was very hard and not comfortable, and even with the $10.00 per person breakfast discount coupons, they still want $10.00 per person for the bagel/bakery/cold cereal breakfast - which we passed on. While it probably wasn't a bad room, we were very disappointed in what was suppossed to be a luxury hotel.

THERE WERE ALSO SOME HAIRS IN THE SINK UPON MY ARRIVAL, OVERALL A GREAT PLACE BUT THE HAIRS ON MY CLEAN TOWELS REALLY MADE ME THINK TWICE OF RETURNING.

This was not our first time at the Eliot Suite Hotel. We returned because we like having a suite when traveling with 2 children. The location is great, close to public transportation, shops, restaurants and Fenway Park! The hotel staff were professional and friendly. We did not eat at the hotel so I can not comment on the food or room service. There are many, many great places to eat or get coffee or sit and have a drink with in walking distance. We like that it is an older building that has been restored which gives it an old world charm.

We really loved the hotel, very friendly staff. We were upgraded to a king suite, which was large, clean and lovely. We were bothered by the fact that the room temp. would not go lower than 75 degrees. It seemed that the air conditioning was out of wack. We told the desk at check-out and were told that they were sorry. I would stay again and hope that the air problem had been corrected. The location was wonderful. Again the staff could not have been nicer, from the doorman to the desk. It seem that the Eliot really stresses customer service.

This was the way hotels used to be - doorman, porter who set up your room, ACTUAL keys to a room - not a slide key, immaculate rooms, little "extras" (free jelly beans for my 7 year old son) and attentive staff. All for a VERY reasonable price in a major metropolitan city. We also received breakfast coupons and the costs were extremely reasonable. Plus a 15% coupon if we stay before the end of the year. I can't wait to go back.

The rooms are great (very large). The problem is the front desk. When help was required with booking a train reservation the concierge booked without checking the price then said "I'm not from here so I don't know what to do". Big problems with the internet which is expensive and did not work and took forever to fix. Breakfast was a fiasco!! Took forever for a cup of coffee and ran out of food. What should have taken 5 mintues took 45 minutes. It's too bad because it is a lovely hotel but most of the staff needs more training.

Our stay at the hotel was great. At arrival we were upgraded from a standard room to a suite, and greeted with cookies in the room. The Eliot is a charming and small hotel. The staff is extremely helpful. On the first level is Clio Restaurant with Uni, a Japanese food bar. Clio even gave us free coffee to go since we were too late for breakfast. The hotel is located at the end of Newbury Street, about one block away from the Hynes Convention Center T stop. Overall, I would recommend the Eliot Hotel. However, if you prefer to be closer to downtown Boston, I would look at the nice hotels on the other side of Newbury St., and closer to Boston Common.

My only regret is that I didn't try the restuartant Clio which is supposedly one of the Best in Boston. It was quiet and clean. The staff was super helpful and friendly from the doorman to housekeeping staff. I will definitely stay here again! I would receommend it to anyone.
