"expensive but impressive"
Great two day stay. Could have stayed a week. Service personal were very accommodating. Nice shops and a variety of restaurants and sport bars. My only disappointment was thae Stax hamburger stand. Could have spent 28.00 dollars at McDonald's. Take your sweetie to the Gaylord, she'll be impressed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"There's some taxes in my oatmeal"
I arrived, was quickly checked in and assisted to my room. The hotel was beautiful. The atmosphere and people were amazing. You get what you pay for. Cost; however, was an issue. Valet parking is $28 a day to which they add $2.59 in taxes. You can self park but that is not free for guests and I feel it should be. It is $21 a day. During my stay the […] nightly rate was $199 to which $18.41 state tax, $11.94 OCC tax and $2.50 city tax was added per night. You are also charged a $18.00 a night resort fee. This is what allows you to use their wifi and gain access to their indoor pool, gym, spa etc. If you Don't plan to use them I Don't think you should be charged. They add $1.67 a day tax to that resort fee. There is a $50 a day deposit for incidentals you will get back within 7 days after check out. Eating is expensive. Breakfast for example, coffee oatmeal and one banana was $16. Luckily there are plenty of places to eat in the area. When booking the room I was quoted $467. I ended up paying $664.22 for the hotels failure to inform me of the extra taxing in their area, the cost of parking or the incidental deposits. It was a gorgeous place and friendly people and wonderful if you have money to burn. I would recommend free self parking for guests, the right to wave $18 a day fee if you dont plan to use the services, food, can we get some bacon with our oatmeal if we are paying $16 for it ? And please tell guests of the extra taxes before their arrival. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Weather was bad. Did not need to leave the resort"
Was only there for one night, but it was a very nice hotel and resort. Great location and services. Will be staying again if we get the chance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not what you expect..."
It was very disappointing. The hotel its beautiful and charming. The customer service was good, but they need to get some of that to the rooms. Hot water took about 15 to 20 minutes to come out and the maintenance guy told us to turn on the shower 1st and let it run and then the hot water will come out of the sink, what kind of joke is that? Rooms were […] not worth the price for sure and they charge you an extra $18 day resort fee, for 2 bottles of water each day, WiFi and I don't know what else. That fee should be optional. What if you don't want to drink their water or wont use the WiFi everyday? So you are wasting your money. Parking sucks. you have the option for valet for $28 a day or self-parking for $21 a day. I think self parking should be free for their guest, they are gated so they could charge people that are not there to stay. Overall was an Ok stay but I would not stay day again if I don't have to. We were stuck at the hotel in the recent ice storm. Most of the staff never left the premises and replacement staff could not make it in the next day due to the conditions. Everyone pulled it together and service was top notch during our entire stay. Lots of attention and smiles. Thank you!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel appearance. Room could use some work."
There were very thin blankets on the bed. Not thick enough for January or February. Could not get the heat to work in the room. We froze all night. Three very small pillows on the bed for a king size bed and no extra blankets or pillows in the closet. No so impressed with the comfort of the bed either.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
On a road trip to Florida and had always wanted to stay here. Worth taking the time to catch your breath in the beautiful gardens and spend a night in Nashville taking in the great bars.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Grand Hotel... smh"
The 21$ a day parking fee was a surprise! The 54$ room fee is stupid, It's for bottled water and for them to restock you with shampoo and etc. Ridiculous!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Siblings Trip to Nashville"
I enjoyed staying at the Gaylord Opryland Resort. The hotel is located outside of downtown Nashville and cabs and shuttles are expensive so be prepared if you are planning a vacation in Nashville. The hotel restaurants are convenient but also expensive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I LOVED THE PEOPLE"

Beautiful place, architecture and gardens. A very special experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We took our 3 grandchildren for a night out. The hotel was amazing, our room had the atrium view. The kiddos loved the pool, boat ride and we enjoyed a great dinner. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Thank you for helping us create a wonderful memory we will all remember!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

You feel like you're on a tropical island when you stay at the Opryland Resort. Everything about it was exceptional! We will definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"An experience, but not a great hotel."
The Gaylord Opryland is a destination experience but it isn't a great hotel. The huge gardens/atrium with restaurants, etc. scattered about make it a nice place to stroll but also a good place to get lost - and not in a good way. There is no help to be had but from other visitors. The rooms are small and not well-appointed, particularly for the price […] that is charged. There was so much space around the door out to the hall you could hear every word people said as they went by as though they are in the room with you. The self-parking was a nightmare as half the cards given out to visitors didn't work leaving lines of cars waiting to get out and one parking attendant. Calls to speak to management met with the unbelievable claim that there wasn't a manager available to handle the issue. The restaurants we ate at had good food but the prices were probably 20% higher than they should be for what you received. One last comment: this is a Marriott property and it definitely isn't up to their usual standards. I wonder if it's because it's a convention center and they tend to have "captive" audiences. A twitter rant about the parking issue didn't get a response from the @gaylordopryland but @marriott did. My advice? Visit but stay elsewhere. Anyone can go in, wander the paths, take the boat ride, enjoy the water features, and eat at the restaurants. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Grits, gravy and great!"
Business and pleasure. Outstanding hotel, but the breakfast restaurant is too small and wait is ridiculous. Other than that, great, almost overwhelming place.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Amazing botanical garden, w/truly impressive specimen trees one w/never expect to see in Nashville. Also loved the Jack Daniels bar - remarkably good musicians and great drinks!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had such a great time staying here! Beautiful accommodations, friendly staff and delicious food. We will definitely return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
A friend and I come once a year or so just for rest and relaxation. It's a beautiful hotel with great staff and good food. Love the fitness room, spa, and lap pool. Its my sanity get away! I only have one suggestion. At 10:30 on Saturday I was having a serious chocolate craving. The front desk said the one store was open 24 hours (conservatory I think). […] We arrived at 10:59 and the sign said it closed at 11:00 but it was already closed. I'd had a few drinks so couldn't jump in the car and wouldn't have wanted to anyway at that time on a cold night. Point is a 24 hour store to pick up food items or at least a vending machine with snacks would be most helpful. One place was open but it only had healthy stuff. Big fan of healthy food but not at that moment when "chocolate" was the only thing on my mind. Not a complaint because the hotel is awesome just a suggestion. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The map is a little confusing. I discussed this with others that felt the same way. Would be great if your app had a way to have a GPS on it. Or colored dots to follow for each area. But overall it was beautiful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall a relaxing weekend but there is no music in any of the venues.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Many services were closed. No entertainment anywhere in complex. Too far from the action of downtown. Pricey to take cabs and the hotel transportation. Would not stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice but Pricey"
Wonderful and very interesting common areas of hotel. Very overpriced and found everything to be extremely expensive. New York City prices in Tennessee? Watch out for hidden costs, such as parking and many additional taxes and fees.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Make sure you know your room comes with a bed!!!!"
Was very disappointed to be told upon arrival that my room did not even have a bed, only a sofa sleeper. I was there for my 10 year anniversary for my wife and this started our trip off on the wrong foot. The person working the front desk was very rude about it and said that it happens frequently, which makes me think they should change their website, […] so I asked him to get a manager. After some time, the manager agreed to upgrade me to a room with an actual bed. I would consider this a pretty major issue, however, other than that our stay was pleasant. "Very Nice Hotel - Front Desk Service Lacking"
Overall - very nice hotel. I particularly liked the location for my purpose, and the room was clean and comfortable. The resort covers a large area and is quite spread out; so you better enjoy walking or plan to use the hotel service for your luggage. My only complaint would be that the maps provided to you so that you can navigate your way around the […] complex is not very clear; add to that that the staff didn't seemed all that interested in fielding any questions about the map, which is my reason for down grading the service. "Staff is lacking. Beautiful facilities."
The hotel itself was nice. The hotel staffed lacked all charm. There was not a single staff member that didn't act as though we were troubling them to do their job such as at check in and out, restaurants, and even the concierge. As beautiful the place is and well kept it is, I would prefer a less beautiful hotel for better hotel staff attitudes.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The stay was great. The staff was mostly friendly and helpful. The hotel was beautiful with all the Christmas decor, lights, displays and trees still in place. We spent over an hour just walking around the hotel looking and taking pictures. Get a room that over looks the Cascades area. All the rooms in this area have balconies to watch people and the […] many BEAUTIFUL waterfalls inside the hotel. Its' proximity to the mall was so good we just walked across the parking lot to explore. My only issue is that when checking, in I was told our room contained only a sofa-bed. And for 4 people this was not acceptable. We got an "upgrade" for an extra $50 a night. Not sure where the problem was here...wink, wink but the room was very nice, enjoyed the balcony, view and the relaxing atmosphere. Much better than I expected. Disappointed with hotel. Shuttle to main attraction-downtown was expensive. Nickeled and dimed. Stay Downtown! And go visit Gaylord for lunch-dinner is usually a long wait. Also, 5 families Booked 6 rooms in July for a December stay. We were told we could not request rooms together until check-in. We all checked-in together and were placed all over […] a very big hotel. "Will not stay here again"
When we got there, the bell hop told us to give him our ticket and he would bring up our luggage...after 1:30 minutes we called down to find out the problem to which the main bell desk said they would talk to our hop because that was not the right way to handle things....30 minutes later I took it upon myself to get my own luggage from the bell stand […] after no response....our first night there were kids running up and down the halls and knocking on our door, the next night we requested towels and at our door was the clerk with a pillow and a role away bed....the day of our departure, we called the bell stand as we were told to do and our car would be brought up and that day they said they could. "Come for the experience, sleep elsewhere"
As a tourist attraction, this place is an amazing experience... but the hotel fails at every basic function of being a hotel. House cleaning didn't even clean the room on my second day by 4pm. After calling the front desk, they assured me that someone would be up to clean it by 6pm. I had to call a THIRD time to get house cleaning done, which is absurd. […] Walls and doors are paper thin, so you can hear a pin drop anywhere in the hallway. There is also a ridiculous $21/day "parking fee". Everything in this hotel is exorbitantly expensive, so I expected a little more. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
