"hospitality promise is a lie"
05/29/14 curt f
my wife and I barely slept after being put in room 2 floors over air conditioning units and pool. The room sounded as if a semi truck was idling in it even causing the ez chair to vibrate. The next morning was moved 2 floors higher over same air conditioning units.complaining again we were finally moved to other side of building where we slept fine our 2nd night. Taking up hotel on it's 'hospitality promise' to make it right or not pay for that part of your stay. I was told by front desk they could do nothing without manager approval(who was not there). Upon my insistence I was called 2 days later by a representative and told the most they could do was be given 25 percent reduced rate for the night of no sleep, and room upgrade for next stay. My next move is to file a report with the bbb.

The photos are deceiving. The hotel isn't near as nice as the photos make it appear. The name of the hotel now is Crescent Hotel. It is pretty run down, smelled musty and cigarette smoke. We felt very unsafe there. We did not stay after we saw the conditions. The positives are it was in a good location to an event we were attending, it was fairly clean, it is inexpensive and the desk clerks were very helpful.
"I stay at this hotel Weekly - Read this review"

I have been staying at this particular hotel for over a year, every week. I have seen the new management - and I can tell you there is no difference. Last weekend I woke up to find the bottom half of the bed wet from the rainstorm the night before - I was on the 6th floor and there are 7 floors of this hotel, so the water leaked from the roof, through 2 floors to get to my bed. I usually find washcloths on the shower rod that are filthy, bathmats in the shower that are disgusting, the drains in the shower and the sink area half the time work, I usually have to put a razor in the shower drain to lift it open and just manage through it. I am never surprised anymore at what I find - the room always smells of smoke, the staff running around is rude, and only Renee or John at the front desk it helpful. The floor of the hotel room is so dirty that my socks are black after walking from the bed to the bathroom - dryers work 80% of the time, coffee maker may work, if it has a lid for the pitcher, or a basket to put the coffee in the filter area. YES, my boss gets a good rate at this hotel, $30 per night. THAT IS THE ONLY REASON I STAY HERE. As far as safety - I have never had anything stolen out of my room, and luckily the police station for KCPD is right around the corner - WARNING: If you need a place to stay, and don't mind all the above - you will be fine. I have found bugs in the bathroom, roaches, etc when I turn the light on - yes, it is an older property - but BEWARE
"Under New Management. Totally Turned this place Around"

I had a large crew staying at this hotel from Feb. - May 2012. Watched as the entire way of doing business changed. The NEW Manager is a peach and she Truly has done wonders with this property. Understand this is a discount hotel but it is set in a old what looks like multi-floor Ramada Inn. We were very impressed with the bang for the buck. Remember, you are not staying at the Embassy Suites here. My crews and I live out of Hotels over 300 days a year. I have NEVER stayed at such a nice place, for so little cost. We have done 2 more jobs around KC and have went back to stay both times. I am writing this review because I am today heading back to KC and will again stay here.

@ $24(day) for a weekly stay. I did have to ask for a refg & microwave, received it ASAP. My room is clean & i feel secure. No extra cost for the coffee ammenties, ironing board & iron, things other "weekly" hotels hide charges on you. STAFF has gone out of their way to make me happy! While i was there, every question was met with "MY HIGHER" (than normal) expections. Same "contential" breakfast higher end hotels have. SOMETIMES YOU CAN 'T MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO.

I landed at this hotel out of necessity only, as all hotels in area were full due to a large week-long Event in KC. I will never go back! Negatives: They don't tell you the elevator buttons don't work even tho they see you standing there for 5 mins waiting for it to arrive. (Push the DOWN button only to call the elevator). I found a pair of men's underwear on the floor between the bed & the nightstand from a previous visitor. I found a dirty washcloth hanging over shower curtain rod while showering also from previous visitor. Housekeeping only showed up 50% or less of the time to replace towels. Several times I had to request towels(repeatedly) and once I had to carry my dirty/wet towels down to the front desk at 2am to swap them out for clean ones!!! Are you kidding me????No such thing as "No Smoking Rooms" here--I prayed every night the hotel didn't burn down from someone falling asleep while smoking. The resident across the hall had a yapping, scratching at the door dog and neighbors knocking on the door and hollaring thru the door all night long (I moved to another room after that). The website photo's are misleading: there are no longer any dining room facilities. The photos are probably over a decade old! Minimal "breakfast": Banana's & Apples were ok (I travel with my own brkfst shakes) Positives: The sheets were clean, no bed-bugs or lice, Mattress was ok, I didn't get a backache, Pillows were the worst I'd ever seen (I travel with my own).

me and my boyfriend are in the process of finding an apartment so we moved into the hotel until we find a place. the hotel and staff seem good AT FIRST but there are beginning to be so many problems that it's really starting to make me mad. one of the elevators is always broken. their "breakfast" is a muffin, honeybun,or cereal. there are only 2 friendly hotel staff and the rest are VERY rude and the "housekeepers" are lazy. FULL SERVICE is supposed to be monday and friday, but they come when they want and only clean what they want so you have to chase them down to get them to vacuum or change the sheets...and they'll NEVER wash the blankets if you don't ask. the satellite is constantly messing up,right now 3 of the 6 hbo channels suddenly are only in spanish. a couple channels won't even come in,and when you call the front desk to tell them they say it's the satellite provider so there's nothing they can do about it. everytime it rains the carpet by the window is soaked. we had to change rooms when we first came because everytime someone flushed the toilet above us the sink would overflow with yellow water and something that looked like dirt. we've been here 5 months and seen the police here 3 times. once there was a little boy outside our door crying because he had been left there and we had to take him to the front desk so they could find his parents. it's SERIOUSLY not worth the money and it's WAY overpriced for this garbage..

"Their room reservation site is not SECURE!"

I suggest that you don't use their room reservation site has it's not secured. Most online room reservation sites are secured but this one isn't and they're asking for your credit card information. Don't do it if you don't want someone to hacked your credit card. Always make sure any site asking for your credit card information has a pad lock (HTTPS) before providing your credit card information.
"Not the best stay"

The hotel was not a good stay. The thriving night club is very loud and can be dangerous. We had a group of teenagers that were attending an IHOP conference and when we returned back to the rooom a police officer met us in the parking lot. He stated that we should go directly to our rooms and not leave! We left the next morning at 5:00 AM!
