The hotel's location was absolutely perfect. we were able to walk to almost all the places we wanted to see. the train station, tons of shops and restaurants were nearby. The staff was somewhat friendly. The condition of the bathroom was unacceptable. the shower was moldy and was not well lit. the connection for the cable was horrible and the screen […] constantly was filled with static. My partner and I stayed here for three nights in June 2011. The hotel was satisfactory for the price, and the area it's in is great. I will definitely stay here again if I visit Montreal.

The hotel is located few steps off St. Catherine in the Village, so not recommended for people afflicted by homophobia. Easy to get on and off highway, good access to metro, shops, museums, and not far from Mount Royal Park. Lots of coffee shops, sex shops, and male strip clubs. The room w/king size bed was small, badly lit, had small fridge, 2 smallish chairs, table size of a pizza box and an antediluvian TV set. WiFi worked. The bathroom was small, had walk-in shower and toilet meant to accommodate left-leg amputees (if you happen to have both legs you'd have to seat side-ways due to the seat mounted too close to the wall). Some closet space. A/C worked. Rather quiet. Complimentary breakfast was edible. Free parking is limited to about 7-8 tight spots behind the hotel, difficult to get in and out, fenced, locked, otherwise no security. Public parking on the street and off, nearby. Overall: expect Motel 6 level of comfort. Read more

I read decent reviews of this place, but it is not one I would recommend. I actually changed hotels after 1 night because I just didn't feel comfortable. It just had a bad feel to it. Yes, it's decent as far as budget hotels and the front desk staff is helpful and friendly. It's clean enough. But it's the location that is undesirable. I was a single […] traveler and I did not feel safe or comfortable in the area, and it's a bit of a walk or train ride to get to the most popular tourist spots. If you're visiting Montreal, do more research. Spend a little more to stay somewhere else and in a nicer area (it's what I did in the end). It will definitely be worth it. Read more

Hotel was in a great location near the Berri UQAM Metro. Easy to get to Old Montreal and the Crescent St. and McGill areas & St. Denis. Croissants, bread and coffee/tea are delivered to your room if you wish in the morning. It was very hot when we arrived and the air conditioner was very small and did not cool down the room at all after two days. Either […] there were not enough BTUs or the air conditioner was too old to work properly. It also made noise like a jet taking off which made it hard to sleep. The room was fairly small but there was a fridge. The bathtub was scratched and the tile in the shower needs to be replaced. Some upgrades would make this a much more comfortable place to stay. The hotel says free parking but there is not, you have to get up at 6 to move your car or get a expensive ticket from the city. Also bring soap, every time they clean our room there wasnt any soap. Centrally located with free parking, where other places charge close to the 20 dollar mark. I got this place at an unheard of cheap price for a non-hostel environment (no bunk bed, no shared bathroom etc.) through Expedia's unpublished section. Minor issues with the room: blinds a bit beat up and a bit of rust on the electric heater cover in the bathroom. […] Overall much better than I expected for this price and to me the most important things were there there: a clean bathroom and a clean room in general that is in good condition.
