Excellent experience. Brought my wife along on a business trip to Brazil and wanted a nice place for her. Since our plane was arriving in the early morning I emailed a couple of days before to see if we might check in early. I received a prompt reply that, since the hotel wasn't fully booked that day, we could check in whenever we arrived. Hotel is […] quite stylish and well maintained. Staff is very attentive and helpful. The reception desk ladies all spoke excellent English and the rest of the staff enough to get by. We had one of the small suites and it was nicely furnished and very comfortable. Apparently it had once been two individual rooms before being made into a suite as it had two small bathrooms. Each was a bit on the tight side but having his & her bathrooms made up for it. There were a great number of electronic conveniences and the airconditioning worked very well, something that I seldom find these days. The breakfast menu is quite good with a nice variety of fruits and breads on the buffet and various egg dishes available. The only problem we had at all was that the wireless was very slow and we had to reconnect every few minutes. However, it was included in the price of the room which is not the norm in Brazil. Like all nice hotels in Sao Paulo the Porto Bay is not inexpensive but but we would definately stay again and would not hesitate to recommend it. Read more

I was very happy with the staff and the room. The hotel was just off Paulista Av so it is close to safe restaurants and shopping. Biggest complaint is that the exercise room doesn't open early enough.

This hotel is located near the Sao Paulo Museum of art and close to the metro station that serves the Museum. It is in a great neighborhood. The rooms are comfortable, but a little small for the price and there was only one armchair in our room. The staff were friendly and very helpful and breakfast was exceptional.

It's a very comfortable hotel in a very central part of Sao Paulo. Everyone was very friendly. I liked the pool with the open roof very much! Great breakfast. Nice touches, like the ipod dock. My TV didn't work very well though and the toilet had a weak flush - but these are small complaints.

Best all-around […] service of any hotel I've stayed in in the city. Had a pre-dawn drugstore need, and staff offered to go out and get it for me. Level of English and Spanish among staff is, again, superior to their counterparts in other area hotels. Room tastefully decorated, gently luxurious. Only complaint: street noise. My wife and I stayed here for four nights when I was in Sao Paulo on business. This is a great hotel in the heart of the city. I can't remember ever sleeping in a more comfortable bed. The room was quite small, but very clean and comfortable. The little gym was good, but even better were the jacuzzi hot tubs and the sauna. You booked the individual […] jacuzzis in advance, and they were cleaned and filled and hot at the agreed time, and with candles and gentle music. If I have one criticism of this hotel it was the breakfast. In much of the restaurant the tables were far too close together, which made personal conversation uncomfortable. Also the quality of the fruit available at the breakfast buffet and the breakfast area were not half as good as at the cheaper Estanplaza Paulista the other side of Avenida Paulista, where I stayed for one night earlier on my trip. The staff were helpful and friendly from the outset. As I was on my first visit to Sao Paulo it was nice to have a secure base. The room was comfortable. Reception staff were incredible and went out of their way to help. I certainly hope to return to Brazil and Sao Paulo and will use L'Hotel Porto Bay as my base. I am looking forward to my return.
