The name has changed to Econo Lodge. Therefore, it was very difficult to find since the name on Hotels.com is never on a sign.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We found the motel clean quiet and staff very friendly. We would stay again the next time we are in the areaGenuine Expedia guest review
"The whole place smelled like an ashtray."
Fortunately we only had to stay 1 night. The clean clothes in my suitcase smelled like as dirty ashtray when I opened it. The place is a disaster. They had food set up in the lobby of some sort but I wouldn't think of eating any of it!Genuine Expedia guest review
"needs a lot of serious maintence"
Checked in the first night. Room was clean, no silverware, one small plate, and a hole in wall near door where someone punched it. Told the desk person they said they knew the hole was there. Went out next day shopping and sightseeing. When we came back, room was never touched, no clean towels, nothing cleaned. Went to see desk clerk, while i was there […] i saw they had wirlpool suites, i asked if i could just move. I paid extra for suite, after we were moved in we were going to run a tub and relax in wirlpool. suprise no cold water in bath room. Told desk clerk, I was they could have someone look at it in morning. By morning Water cooled down enough so to add a little more hot water and my wife got a bath. No shower for me, too hot. will never stay there again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"the worst hotel/motel stay of my life"
drove up to a disheveled outside. walked into a lobby that smelled bad. reservation was made for 3 people with pre- registration info that we would need to use pull out sofa. when opening it there was no sheet, pillow, or blanket nor was there any in the room. hotel provided 1 bath towel for 3 people. room was dirty. stove top was charred from burning. […] there was 1 little vent from bedroom to living room. in order to get some air into living room person in bedroom couldn't sleep because it was ice cold. breakfast was served in smelly lobby Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"would def stay again"
great place staff are very polite only issue i had was that the a.c. would shut off everytime i turned it on and wifi wouldn't connect in my room. other than that the room was clean and comfortable. i would def stay againGenuine Expedia guest review
"Converting to an Econolodge...good value"
Only stayed one night...had a bit of trouble finding the hotel due to the name change (signs now say Econolodge). Hotel decor is a bit tired, but I'm sure that the new owner will refresh things a bit. No issues with our stay..friendly desk staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good size room."
The property and hotel looked as if it was abandoned. When we entered there was that smell that others have talked about as well as no AC on. But!! With all that a side the room itself was fairly large. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the AC worked well in our room. Also, we got to the free breakfast as it started at 6 am, and it wasn't bad […] for free. Over all this is nothing close to updated, modern, or remotely close. A good value if you do not mind outward appearances as being old and run down and rooms not modern. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The room smell smoke, very old furniture. The hotel is very harable.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great !Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel rooms are too outdated, need to be remodeled badly. At least the room size is big. Breakfast is barely just two kinds of cereal, coffee and orange juice, not much to choose from.Genuine Expedia guest review
Overall the hotel was run down (the tub would not drain unless you held the drain lever open). I was charged an additional fee for linens for an in-room pull out couch.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
got there couldn't open the door manager said bang on it first, got inside room was like an oven, no toilet paper had to back downstairs to get some, refrigerator not working told them, they never fixed it or replaced it said they didn't have complaints about it before. no hairdryer, coffee maker, iron in room, asked for wake up call never got one was […] late for my meeting. pictures not true wish I had my camera with me. burn holes in carpets. inside of microwave dirty, mattress hard as a rock, couldn't open windows cranks were broken. would never recommend this motel to anyone it is so not worth it. "Out of the way, old, run down..."
This place is great if you need a cheap stay near Mystic and casinos...just expect to drive a bit. Don't expect luxury, they don't even have an ironing board you can borrow, just an iron. The wallpaper is peeling, place needs a MAJOR facelift. We stayed in a nice big place, like a small apartment - kitchenette, fridge, etc... One AC in the whole place […] that is LOUD!!! Enjoy... :) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Far too remote"
Would never return. The hotel needs upgrades. the carpeting was dirty and ripped. The walls in our room had huge holes in the drywall with no attempts at repair. The breakfast was very meager in comparison to others. No one explained where the milk and other things were so i saw young children eating their cereal cold and without any milk. Overall, […] I wiashed we had left. Finally, the hotel is still using old signage so we passed it by several times before stopping. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Not a horrible place, however the hallways smelled of colorox and the beds were broken, one had a visible dip in the middle. Rooms could definitely use updating.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very Large room with kitchen and seating area And seperate bed room...a lot of room for the moneyGenuine Expedia guest review
"worst accommodations ever"
Peeling wallpaper Suite had only one AC unit, kitchen/living area hot Musty smell Hole in wall by shower head Only one remote for two TVs no radio or alarm in roomGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very disapointed that this hotel is being misrepresented online. It is no longer the Sojourner Inns & Suites (changed to Econolodge). All appliances except the TV were EXTREMELY OLD. The room was basically clean, however, the following amenities: cookware/dishes/utensils/iron/ironing board/hair dryer/newspaper) were not provided in the room, as advertised […] online. We just wanted a clean, economical place to stay while en route. Arrived late and left early. If fit the bill. Cordial staff. Convenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not bad, suprisingly decent"
We had a king suite 1st floor... room was clean and didn't smell. A/c got loud all of a sudden during the night - rattled and shook a bit but then calmed down again. Lobby was musty as if had water damage at some point. Only turn off really was the front desk called us at 11:00.01 am reminding us about check out... we were literally walking out the […] door... ( couldn't they wait till 1130am?) Still no biggie. Some of the walls in bathroom could have used a wipe down as well as the kitchen area etc.... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Needs to be updated and cleaned."
Did not like the hotel. Carpets and furniture old and dingy. Hotel promoted "free breakfast" yet did not provide anything. Charged ten dollars for pull out coach bedding. Also changed the name to Econolodge; we spent a fair amount of time looking for the Sojourner. Would not stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"nevr stay here"
Worst experience ever. Didn"t even unpack, the room was dirty and looked nothing, and I repeat, nothing like the pictures on the site. We booked another room down the streetGenuine Hotels.com guest review
It's really the econolodge. I drove by several times before finally figuring out that Sojourner inn is the econolodgeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel had a different name"
It took me a while before I found the hotel because it had a different name than the name that I made my reservations under. Rooms were clean. Amenities were few. Common areas were in poor shape.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to visit..."
..but I wouldn't want to live there. Suite was spacious and comfortable. Price was excellent. Not as clean or updated as I would have liked, but at that price I couldn't complain.Genuine Expedia guest review
Was only there for short time after night at foxwoods, breakfast was cleared out by 930 which was a real disappointment! It is not the name you listed, it is econo lodge, bit confusing. Overall good for the reason i used itGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"would not recomend this hotel"
Room was very outdated, old nasty furniture, the carpet stunk, wall paper was coming off the walls. All of there rooms are suites but there is no A/C in the living area, only the bedroom. There are two TV's but only one remote! Overpriced, don't stay here!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is labled as soujourner on this site but it is really an econo lodge. I had trouble finding it because of this. There was gum left on the headboard there were not kitchen utensils as it advertised and we were only given enough towels for one person when the room was for two people and we were told we couldn't have any more.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"never stay there again!"
the tv in the bedroom did not work. the Heater was LOUD, LOUD, LOUD so sleep was scarce. our door did not close without us having to deliberately close it. we had to CONTINUALLY request items, such as towels, sheets, blankets, as there were not enough supplied for the 4 people in the room. The freezer was leaking all down the back of the inside of the […] fridge. the 'suite' is really not a suite at all... granted there is plenty of room, but the stove top is virtually unusable, and there was not microwave provided as originally told when I made my reservation. Would NEVER go back here. I paid $149 (before taxes) and that was an OVERPAYMENT of about $100. Very disappointing stay. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This was easily the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel that i have booked through Expedia. It started with the booking actually being cancelled even after I had a confirmation to asking for a couple of extra towels and being told if i needed them to come down and get them. Once they finally decided to honor the booking confirmation they tried […] to charge me $10 buck extra per child that I had originally put in during the booking process. Then they overcharged me for the room which I had to have them credit and re-bill for the right price. The Hotel was run down and looked like it had not been updated since the 70's. The elevator and hallway smelled indescribably bad. The mini refrigerator was filled with rust and grime. I was ready to drive 2 hours home instead of staying in the "PIT" Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Its OK for 3 Star Hotel !!!"
Since it was my first time staying at this brand hoteI it was good for a one night stay. The room was clean, however the place definitely needs to be updated as far as wear and tear.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not too far from the casino......"
Clean and roomy! Worked out nicely for us when we made a trip to Mohegan Sun and the casino hotel was fully booked.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Check rooms carefully"
One room was okay. The other (Room 117) was terrible. The bathroom was tiny, and the sink did not empty- had to remove the stopper. The tub would not empty. Cold air came on in the middle of the night, and we could not stop it. The spread and blankets were old. Furniture was very old. Very dimly lit.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to Casinos"
The room was overpriced. The furnishings were old and tattered and there was an obvious water damaged ceiling tile with mold. The sheets had water/rust stains. We were only staying the night, but if I were staying longer I would have been dissatified overall.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"You get what you pay for"
-the entire hotel smells like mold, right when you walk in -the hallways are freezing -their idea of a pull out couch is two chairs, one of our third party guests had to sleep on the floor -the lights in our bathroom were exposed and moldy -the staff were visibly rude and short with questions -NO CABLE -extremely old applicances in roomsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Aside from the lady at the desk not really understanding English, my issue was the fact that I prepaid for the room in advance, yet when I checked in after midnight, the heat was never turned on and it was below zero with the wind chill outside. It took most of the night to bring the room up to 70 degrees and I had to sleep with all of my clothes on, […] including my jacket. I understand it is wasteful to heat unused rooms, but this was a Saturday night and I paid hours earlier so I consider that extremely poor service. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This is our second time staying here. Check in and check out clerk were both friendly. Reasonable rates, nothing fancy but a nice hotel. Great for an overnight stay near the casinos.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The lobby and our room was clean, the halls and elevator are older it was a nice room and a great value. We booked this place to lay over one night on the weekend because of a long drive. We were not disturbed by other quest.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The place was party central.. I purposely called hotel.com because they don't have a check box for handicap rooms on line under the preferences. I asked for a handicap room and we were not booked for one.. All the employees there do not speak English well and they are hard to understand and they don't understand you either.. Their free breakfast was […] a joke and the cereal they did offer was stale... The rooms were spacious but not well maintained at all... There definition of handicap accessible rooms are no where close for a person who is wheelchair bound!! The bathroom was the worse handicapped equipped I have ever seen... Guest were extremely loud and obnoxious for which the managers were afraid to go ask them to take their partying out of the parking lot. So 12 am and 2am I had to go outside and ask them to knock it off and be considerate of the other guest and I am a lower leg double amputee who is wheelchair bound..
