The Best=the View, very near the Tram. The Worst=dirty toilet floor, failing lamp in entry. I stayed 6 nights. Staff is welcoming and helpful to tourists. My only meal in the restaurant (dinner) was well prepared, the wait-person was alone but did a creditable job of taking care of us all. The NH Nice is a middle ranking hotel close to the very useful tram which we took several times to go into the town and to the beach. The walk is also very do-able. I was able to rent a car via the front desk, which was certainly convenient, though be sure to ask about the costs of any damage. I was not able to get clear answers from the rental agency […] rep. The front desk staff was very helpful. The lobby had free wifi, for a period, but you could type in new codes (easily available) to get a new period. A highlight for us was the roof restaurant. Good food, views and decent ambiance when full. Note: suggest getting the tram instead of a taxi to the hotel. We felt that the taxi cost more than it should given the distance. While we were upgraded to a suite by the front desk it was a not good - no AC in the bedroom, just in the livingroom/mainroom. Bedroom too warm with AC on high all day. Not next to the beach or noisy main roads. Pleasant waking distance to most of the interesting places in Nice. The tramway stops just across the plaza by the hotel. Its a great way to move around the city. We bought 7 day travel cards.These are a great bargain . Unlimited use on the tramway and all buses. The NH Nice is in a great location right beside a tram stop and only 3 to 4 tram stops to the old town/beach . It is in the nicer side of the city and is about a 15 to 20 minute walk to the beach and a 10 minute walk to the bottom of the castle hill. Breakfast was served until 11/12 at the weekend which was handy. Servings were plentiful with a large range of meats, bread, fruit and juices/coffees. The room was very comfortable and clean with a nice view over the square outside, the TV channels were a little limited with about 15 options. Only BBC World News is an English option but aside for the French stations there's one for German and Russian as well.On the first morning I tried the gym but was told by the manager that some of the equipment […] didn't work. This was a little disappointing and probably the only thing to mark down on as the only piece worth using was a fairly rudimentary cycle machine. It's also the room where the left-luggage is kept which leads to some surprised looks when people are surprised by others in the room. I just had the express continental breakfast which was nice with a good choice and the option to eat inside or outside. The restaurant staff were all helpful and friendly. I didn't have dinner in the hotel but the menu looked good and priced in line with local decent restaurants. There's the option to eat on the roof terrace which also serves drinks during the day with a good view of the surrounding area. The pool isn't huge but has enough room, there could be another lounger or two for the pool area as most days there were too many people for the availability. The location is about 15-20 minutes from the Promenade des Anglais but the tram stops opposite the hotel at the Palais des Expositions which is an absolute bargain at €1 for any single journey. A twin room was booked as double, A/C didn't work, wall plugs off, getting an extra pillow was like asking for gold, squeaky floor. At the reception they told us that the booking was clearly for a double room, while I showed them the voucher stating Twin. They were fully booked so the day after they would have changed. Well, 3 days later we were still in a double bed room, without the AC, pillow and the squeaky floor driving us insane. I complained to the housekeeper and a new world opened. They arranged another room, gave us pillows, in the meantime the engineer had fixed the plugs and the A/C. They helped us moving, gave us all we needed and a bottle of wine. Where the generals fail, the soldiers made for it. The Quality of the receptionists was pretty poor but the housekeeping and those behind the scenes was superb! I even tried to thank them tipping them but they refused saying that they did nothing but their job. The hotel as a whole is good pity for the guests barricading themselves by the pool without caring about other people. I was looking forward to staying at a 4 star hotel with a pool, but upon arriving discovered it was a really 3 star, with an extra star for the pool. It wasn't as nice or luxury as I had imagined. We had a great weekend in Nice staying at the NH hotel, the weather was lovely for the time of year (but it was across Europe that weekend). The hotel staff were extremely helpful and the room comfortable, although one of the rooms we booked stank of cigarettes. The rooftop pool was nice but too cold to actually use (but it was October). What let the […] hotel down is that this is really a conference hotel (it is just next to a large exhibition centre) and it's location for people on a city break was not perfect. It is a reasonably short walk or two stops on the tram to the old quarter and a long walk (4 or 5 stops) to the seafront but there are no good shops (except a supermarket) or restaurants close by. We sat down in the hotel restaurant for one meal, but the menu was very disappointing so we left without ordering. It is close to a train station that will get you to Monte Carlo quickly but we wanted to stay in Nice! Overall not a bad hotel at all but we would have picked a different location if we knew much about Nice in advance. Read more

Absolutely no complaints about the NH Nice hotel - booked it for the rooftop pool and the stunning views. The pool was bliss as the weather was so hot while we were there. Good value for money, the rooms were very spacious and in great condition. Rooms were very clean and the staff very helpful. The rooms are fairly spartan for a four star hotel - we upgraded to a 'superior' room, but there wasn't much difference, and free water/turndown service never appeared. Staff […] were spectacularly surly, even when being approached with the most basic of queries. This was the hotels biggest let down, it was as if anything anyone had to do for you was a favour, despite the fact that we were paying guests. Trying to walk to the hotel following GPS is a no go as well as you are led to the wrong part of town. That's not the hotel's fault, but staff simply could not have been less sympathetic if they had tried. This is basic customer care, and this customer was given the clear impression that they couldn't care less. I am unlikely to ever stay at a NH hotel again in the future - I have not experienced this type of service from any other hotel, and will stick with my preferred Hilton brand in future. At least there you know exactly what to expect, and service is part of the experience. Read more

Huone oli tilava, siisteys saapuessamme välttävä, kylpyhuoneen viemäri ei vetänyt, mutta hotellin henkilökunta korjasi tilanteen päivän kuluessa. Ympäristössä ei ollut juuri nähtävää, mutta ratikkalinjalla pääsi kätevästi keskustaan. Vastaanottovirkailijat puhuivat vaihtelevasti englantia.

Wie nahezu alle Hotels in Frankreich ist auch dieses etwas abgewohnt (Die Fliesen fallen von den Wänden, die Silikonfugen sind nahezu nicht mehr vorhanden..), die Reinigungskräfte sind nicht gerade hochmotiviert und die Zimmer dadurch auch nur zu 80% sauber. Wen das nicht stört der ist in einem ansonsten ganz guten Hotel untergebracht. Ich hatte eine […] Junior Suite direkt neben dem Aufzug und muss sagen, zumindest hier haben die Architekten ein großes Lob verdient: man hat überhaupt nichts von den Aufzügen gehört. Allerdings sind die Fenster nicht gut isoliert, sodass man zum einen die Straße voll mitbekommt und es zum anderen auch empfindlich kalt werden kann, vor allem wenn man im Winter in Nizza ist. Dafür funktioniert die Klimaanlage einwandfrei und diese kann man auch als Heizung benutzen. Es gibt eine Kaffeemaschine und einen Wasserkocher sowie eine Minibar mit erstaunlich niedrigen Preisen für Nizza. Also alles in allem ganz okay. Read more
