"Great Location Awesome Character"
I've stayed here many times. I love the location. It's easy access to all parts of Philadelphia and the airport. The staff is great, the rooms are comfortable and clean and the hotel has historical charm. I'll take this over a big chain luxury hotel anytime.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Easy walk to the historical sites"
It was neat to stay on the very street where Ben Franklin first stepped foot in Philly. However, from the address and description, I was expecting to be on the waterfront in an upscale neighborhood. It turned out we were on the freeway frontage. That was disappointing. The neighborhood felt safe, but I would not describe it as upscale. It was a few […] blocks to good restaurants and the historical sites, but still an easy walk. The room was small but nice furnishings and had an old-fashioned feel. I liked it. The front desk clerk was warm and friendly, and helped us figure out when to catch the subway for our Amtrak connection. The subway is a stone's throw from the hotel, but it only cost $8 to get to Amtrak by taxi. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Would definitely stay again."
The hotel is in a great location. Convenient parking lot next door that is privately owned and the lot only charges $23 per day for parking, which in the city is pretty fantastic. The jacuzzi tub was amazing and the room was really clean. When we arrived at 3 to check in they were a little late cleaning our room, but we weren't in the city to see the […] inside of a hotel room right away, so to make up for it the owner gave us a couple bottles of beer to sit outside and enjoy the scenery. We did our sightseeing and returned at 7pm to a clean room with our bags already inside. Unfortunately when we came back we had a bag of food and there was no mini refrigerator like most hotels have. I would rate this hotel a 4.8 / 5 and will definitely stay again when we visit Philly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very close to Penns Landing"
Hotel is located very near Penns Landing. Beautiful area to walk around. This is the second time we stayed at this hotel. The hotel staff seemed very nice and polite. Our room was not as clean as it should have been. We found pretzels spilled all over the floor under the curtains and there was mold in the bathroom shower. Over all it was an enjoyable […] stay but for the price I feel there should have been more attention paid to the cleanliness of the room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for the price"
This hotel was very small but definitely nice. It reminded me if a bed and breakfast type of place. Great location in Olde City. We stayed there for a concert that my friends and I were attending across the river in New Jersey. The bridge next to the hotel led us right over to Penn's Landing to catch the ferry. The room though small, was very clean […] and up to date. I would definitely stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Sweet Hotel Close to the City"
My experience at Penn's View was very pleasant. Decorated with colonial drapery and furniture, this hotel is unique and offers the intended feel that one is far, far from home! The best thing about this hotel is its proximity to Old Town Philadelphia. You walk for a few minutes and suddenly you are standing at the Betsy Ross house, or cruising down […] Elfreth's Alley. It is very quaint and the nice hotel staff compliments the pleasantness of the hotel nicely. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Unique and Pleasant"
This hotel is unique and pleasant. The only complaint I had was the highway traffic noise waking me up early in the morning. Other than that, I still would recommend this place. Very charmingGenuine Expedia guest review
Great location to stay at if you are going to a concert at the Susquahana Bank Center. It's an easy ferry ride away.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel and good service"
The hotel was in a great location. The staff, both before and during the stay, were very helpful. The best deal was $23 to park our car till 3 the next day in the separate lot next door.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location/Lots of History!"
Loved staying at Penns View. Well maintained, historic place with updated rooms but still keeping historic flavor. Within easy walking distance of the historic sites in Old City Philadelphia. Great breakfast provided, and a very good Italian restaurant on premises. Incredible gnocchi!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We stay here every year for the XPN Music Festival. Great location near plenty of great restaurants and convenient to the ferry. Excellent restaurant and wine bar on site. The atmosphere and service can't be beat.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"What a wonderful hotel!"
We usually stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels to save money, but the experience that we had at the Penn's View was a welcome change. The hotel was quaint and gave us the feeling that we were stepping back in time. The free breakfast was wonderful...very fresh, lots of carbs, but you could boil your own eggs or eat yogurt if you wanted something other […] than fresh fruit, waffles or pastries. The dining room was elegant. Their coffee was delicious and so was the fruit infused water that was always available in the lobby. If you book early, make sure to check the rates on all websites a few days before your trip. We found out that we paid over $45 more by booking early, but it was too late to do anything about it once we realized it. Expedia will reimburse you the difference if you find a lower rate and contact them over 24 hours before your stay. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"I'll stay here again"
Good location to explore old town Philly, lovely staff, room a decent size for a city hotel - especially at that price. Very reasonable. Liked the terry robes. And free breakfast too. What a deal!Genuine Expedia guest review
Lovely hotel. Very clean and excellent service from all staff. Great breakfast room with wonderful complementary breakfast. Close proximity to many historic points of interest. In fact the hotel itself is a historic landmark. Unfortunately for us we were only there overnight for a family wedding at Cira Center. Will definitely return to this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfy with lots of character"
My husband and I only got to stay 1 night but we loved the place. The room was really traditional in appearance which made it seem romantic but the bathroom was very modern which made it more comfortable. The whole place had a very intimate feel but with all the modern amenities you need. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Everything is nearby […] and we walked everywhere. Public transportation is just at the corner. The parking lot next door was reasonable and allowed in and out privledges, something you don't always get in major cities. We will definitely be back. "Nice hotel that is close to all attractions."
From the outside the hotel looks like a hostel but is much more than that when you go outside. It old fashion nostalgia about it and the rooms are amazing. The only problem is, you have to pay for parking, which was $23 til 3pm next day. It's not that much being that it is in the city but when you are not expecting it, it is. The hotel room was pricey […] and it was booked from Expedia. So if you are watching dollars this place may be too pricey for you. They did provide us with two free tooth brushes and tooth paste and the front desk was very knowledgeable about the area. All and all 4/5 for me. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Walking distance to many attractions. We were attending a concert at Susquehanna Bank Center. Not walkable but a short Ferry ride or cab ride. Rooms are small but the location and proximity to I-95 are great.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great little place to stay!"
Unique and beautiful hotel with a great staff! I loved my room with the jacuzzi tub and the room service was both affordable and wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times. The only 2 things I did not like were that the beds were not very comfortable, and the linens seemed a bit on the cheap side. I would have liked to have had a coffee […] pot and some teas/coffees in the room as well. Otherwise it was a great experience and the location cant be beat! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Historical Sites!"
To be fair to Penn's View we were there for 8 nights and you might be a little tired of anything by then :). The room was spacious with an exposed brick wall that was nice. The view wasn't more than a brick wall. It was clean by all means. The closet was super small (couldn't even put the suitecases in) and the bed was hard. The staff were pleasant […] if you engaged them but made very little attempt at getting to know the guests. Primarily stayed behind the desk and said hello when you came in. The worst problem was the internet. It was spotty at best and, at times, didn't work at all. The breakfast was very good for being free. You could boil eggs and they had scones, fresh fruit plus your normal fair. The dining room where you ate was awesome with excellent music playing and a feeling of elegance. The hotel is right around the corner from the Betsy Ross House and Christ's Church and hundreds of unique and interesting restaurants. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great Hotel close to Camden Bank Arts Center Ferry"
Great location. We stayed while we attended a concert at Bank Arts Center in Camden. It was a quick walk over to the ferry pickup sight both going and coming home from the concert. Loved that we could walk around the historical sights as they were so close. Very Quaint hotel, we love the decor. The staff was helpful and freindly. The room was very clean […] and the bthroom too. It was not a huge room, but enough for the two of us. The wifi never worked for our apple ipad and iphone devices. I called their tech support line but had to leave for the show after 20 minutes of troubleshooting so never could get it working. The breakfast in the morning was very well done, waffles, hard boiled egss, yogurt, fruit etc. A step up from the normal chain continental breakfasts. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location. Friendly front-desk staff"
Great little boutique hotel near Penn's landing in Old City. Woman at check in was very friendly and helpful. Historic spots in walking distance, along with nice little shops, and good pubs. Only negative was cold coffee in AM, when I had to leave before breakfast for my flight.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a charming little hotel, close to Penn's Landing and Independence Mall, with excellent service. The staff is solicitous because they want to be, which is refreshing. My wife & I decided to spend our 1st yr. anniversary in Philly over the 4th of July, 2013. Other than the bed being a little more firm than I prefer, the rooms were charming & very clean. What a great little hotel in Philly! We got this place for our last night in town. It is close to all of the sights (about 3-4 blocks....5 min walk), lots of great bars and food.
