Embassy Suites Chevy Chase Pavilion

I stayed at this hotel a few months ago. It was under construction, and the atrium was dusty and noisy. The same applied this time, except that it was dustier and the atrium was overly warm. The service is very nice and the staff knows about this issues: too bad about not getting any warning ahead of time. I thought it would have been done by now!

Very convenient location, right on top of metro, safe environment, nice breakfast. Manager reception is a nice bonus. The only thing I'd suggest to change is to lower the $10/day wifi access.

It was so nice to wake up to a delicious made to order breakfast with a large selection of breakfast foods. After a day of sightseeing it was wonderful to return to a clean, refreshed room & relax for the evening. The staff was extremely friendly & accomodating & the breakfast staff was excellent!

We had a pleasant experience overall. The only negative was the construction work in the atrium area. The location was close to the National Mall and downtown, and we were across the street from the Friendship Heights Metro stop. There were plenty of restaurants to eat at within walking distance, along with a drug store and grocery store.

The hotel atrium was under a major renovation, so was a little disappointed to discover that when we got there. Therefore, during the day it was noisy and you stared at a big white tent where the construction was happening. The only complaint I have about our room was the shower. The hotel was in a great neighborhood with lots of nice restaurants. Metro station is downstairs from the hotel which is on the line with zoo stops.. Hotel lobby and parking garage are under construction but this was not a big deal. Complimentary breakfast was was good but needed variation. Evening happy hour Was nothing to write home about, chips, […] salsa, goldfish, Chex mix, obviously geared towards the kids. Our kids likes it. Rooms were in good condition and comfortable. Having a fold out sofa for the kids and a refrigerator was handy for the leftovers from Maggianos and The Cheesecake Factory. Potomac Piazza was around the corner and suprisingly good. As always, Embassy Suites was a great place to stay. They were remodeling in the entry/atrium area which was unfortunate for us because we normally enjoy the koi ponds and beautiful outdoorsy feel, but the service was wonderful, the staff most helpful. hotel is going through renovations. surprised to find the room had a glass wall facing the hallway so you had to keep the blinds closed which only made the room darker. the room was spacious but not cozy -- more like a meeting room than a hotel room.

Took my three generation family of 9 for a 10 day stay. Accomodations were great, staff went above and beyond getting us to where we wanted to go. The metro stop is in the hotel so no walking. When we booked the hotel on Expedia, the site failed to inform us that the parking garage and hotel building were going under major renovations. Noise from construction could be heard reverberating through the building until about 8 or 9 PM. Also, the parking garage was a disaster. My fiance and I had a wonderful time. The staff was friendly and accomodating. The room was beautiful and absolutely comfortable. The breakfast buffet was cooked to order and we loved being in the Pavilion and being able to walk downstairs to shop and eat.

This Embassy Suites is part of the Chevy Chase Pavilion shopping center and the whole complex is above the Friendship Heights station on the Metro red line. My husband and I just spent a vacation week there and enjoyed the convenience of being able to travel by Metro to almost everything that interested us. We chose this hotel because of its proximity […] to the Metro, and also because it has an indoor pool and hot tub, and on-site self-parking. We considered the daily parking fee ($24) in comparing costs for the places that interested us, and felt the included breakfasts more than made up for that charge. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with plenty of protein for my diabetic husband, eggs and omelets made-to-order, and lots of choices for carbs and beverages. Our two-room suite was very comfortable, with large flat-screen TVs in both areas to accommodate our sometimes different viewing schedules, and it was handy to have a small fridge and microwave oven. Staff is professional and attentive. Excellent nearby restaurants we enjoyed include: Maggiano's, Clyde's, Indique Heights and The Cheesecake Factory. Get takeout from any of these rather than room service. Also, the hotel coffee isn't great, but there's a Starbuck's on-site if you want something a bit better. The complex is currently undergoing renovation, and although everything was functional when we were there, conditions changed daily and some areas weren't attractive. Loved this hotel!! would recommend it to anyone. The Metro is below the hotel. There are numerous stores and a Cheesecake Factory in the lobby of the hotel. Service (particularly desk and cafe) was excellent except one case where we called for a blanket and it did not arrive. The suite was very nice but a bit utilitarian looking. Our granddaughter found the fold-out couch/bed very comfortable. Having two rooms and two tvs was really nice. The toilet was a bit touchy and needed occasional handle-jiggling. […] The refrigerator, towels, microwave, soap, hairdryer, tvs, etc. were all excellent. The room thermostat works and heating sytem was quiet. The hotel is very well-located right on top of a metro station with a bus depot acrsoss the street, and surrounded by shopping and restaurants. The building appeared to have good security. The included breakfast was extensive, excellent quality, excellent service throughout the serving period. the rooms were beautiful and spacious. THey had complementary breakfast (both hot and cold servings) and complementary drinks in the evening. This hotel is everything we ever wanted. The location and surrounding neighborhood was perfect. We walked all around the area and their were shops and eateries everywhere. The entire area is very clean and we felt very safe. The hotel was outstanding. There was a dedicated security team constantly walking around the hotel. The breakfast was plentiful […] and the Manager's Reception, held every day in the afternoon, was perfect timing after a long day's visit to D.C. The trip on the subway to the National Mall was quick and cheap, $1.85 one way, and allowed us to keep our car in the parking garage downstairs. The indoor pool, on the penthouse level, was a nice touch and allowed us to swim during the cool weather outside. Our room was immaculate and we loved the suite setup, which gives you a lot more room for the family to enjoy and the convenience of having multiple rooms when sleeping. The front desk staff was very cordial and made our experience go smooth and efficient. We couldn't have asked for a more comfortable experience, thanks to Embassy Suites, and the name of my review says it all. Read more

The convenience to the Metro was amazing -- the Friendship Heights stop is right across the street. And it is not that far to more trendy neighborhoods -- I believe just 5 stops to Dupont Circle.
