All in all a decent hotel, nice price point. Rooms are large, beds comfy, plenty of pillow choices. A bit dated in some respects but clean and very nice staff!!

The EconoLodge provided just what we needed - an affordable, comfortable, and clean one-night stay. We were checked in easily, our room was exactly what we booked for, the front desk was responsive when we needed something extra... We had only one frustration. We ended up needing to stay out by the airport, rather than downtown (where we were actually headed) because of a wrestling tournament that weekend, which took up all the rooms downtown. Getting a cab was really difficult - we called three places (the front desk helped), and it took 45 minutes! So I recommend planning ahead if you stay here and want a cab - call early!

Had stayed here in past and always found it enjoyable to take advantage of the Governor's lounge. Bartender was fabulous and we met many interesting... people. Other guests came for the concert and the use of the shuttle bus was great. We were a block from the comedy club ( a great place to go if you're not already familiar with it), and enjoyed waking up and walking downtown. I HIGHLY recommend upgrading to the 'governor's club" room. Free top shelf drinks from 6:30pm to 10:30 pm, plus deserts and snacks! Unbelievable value!

Our room was clean, well decorated and comfortable. The bed linens were very nice. The heater was noisy and we found it difficult to find our comfort zone. Our breakfast room service tray was still out in the hall when we got home from dinner that night, as was our neighbors. .

The jacuzzi in the room was great but the room was not cleaned very well. The bedside table clearly had not been wiped down from previous guest and there was mascara on one of the towels. The Concourse Governor's Club rooms are pleasingly located to downtown events such as the Overture Center. After 20 years of going there, we'd say the stay was "ok", that the facility is becoming quite dated. The extra pay for the privilege of the Governor's Club bar can at times seem like a frenzied "trough and feed" with little elbow room and no luxury. […] Individually, the staff tries hard, but one senses on these frenzied weekends that they've seen it all too many times. The location of the hotel is difficult to beat. It will be interesting to see what happens when the Edgewater reopens in two years. Read more

There was a lot of noisy construction going on in the basement. They shoul've alerted customers. Restaurant seems overrated.

Wife and I got married 5 years ago there, and went back there for our 'date night'. Been there a handful of times and as always the Governors Club was fantastic. Nice little selection of hors d'oeuvres, the beer selection up there leaves a bit to be desired, but the drinks are fantastic. The bartender was very knowledgeable and made some very good drinks. I enjoyed staying at this hotel. The location can't be beat: 1/2 block from the capitol, farmers' market, and State Street. The hotel also has convenient underground parking for guests. All employees were very helpful and friendly. The free shuttle was great. They even offered to take us any where we needed to go. Food was great. We were there for a wedding and they were very accomidating. Hotel was very clean. We would love to stay there again. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had a great time staying at the Madison Concourse hotel. It was our first time in Madison and the location couldn't have been better. The staff was friendly and very helpful and the room was lovely. Would definitely stay there again.

I was on the 5th floor- and the room was ok, but in need of a deep clean and refreshing. The bathroom fan was clogged with dust, and needed repainting. Beds were comfy and free wi-fi appreciated. You can't beat the location. Shuttle to the game and driver was excellent. Front desk on check out was irksome- i first asked about a shuttle and was told […] 'i don't do that, you'll have to go over there'. Okaaay.... so next I'd like to pay this bar charge and gave her cash. "i don't do cash, you'll have to go over there' and pointed. You know, i'm fine that there are specific things each manned station can and can't do, but why is that my responsibility? It was 4 feet away from where I was standing at the desk. Really? I'm expected to know this? The clerk should have just said 'sure' and got the right people to me instead of telling me what she couldn't do. Read more

I absolutely love this place! It is convenient to all things downtown on State Street. It has great views of the Capitol building. Most importantly, if you should get so lucky to get upgraded to the Governors club there will be free hors d'oeuvres and dessert not to mention great bartending. The Concourse is very nice. However, for the cost, it is not that exceptional. It is hard to beat the location, though. We got a poolside room (there are only 3), and it was very nice. We got this on a 1/2 price Expedia sale, so it was perfect for us. I don't know that I would pay full price.

Business travelers should book the Governer's floor. The private hosted lounge is a great place to relax, get something to eat and visit. The hotel is close to a lot of great restaurants and pubs as well as the capital.

Stayed here one night for my girlfriend and I's anniversary. I was a little dissapointed that we got changed from a 1 king room to a 2 queen room but the room was nice nonetheless. The hotel itself was very clean and our room was no different. We stopped at the Governor's Club Lounge for a couple drinks before heading to dinner. The drinks were great, […] and of course free! After dinner we came back and had a couple more drinks before the lounge closed at 10:30. The hotel is only a block away from State Street which is now because we went for a wall down it and had a couple beers at the Memorial Union.
