Reviewed by Don of Peters on Dec 8, 2009
Doormen and baggage handlers were very polite, excellent. They did a good job parking our new car (no damage). The hotel lobby needs to be brightened up a little. Everyone was very nice, including the receptionist and concierge, who made our diner reservatons. The room was top notch and very clean. The hotel was very clean overall. Workout room was great. The one downside was that we couldn't get a coffee at the Coffee Kiosk (located in the lobby) until it opened at 6:30 A.M. Also, when we tried at 6:30 AM, we were told the coffee wouldn't be ready until 6:45. We encountered other guests there in the lobby who were also disgruntled that they couldn't get a coffee in the hotel either (the coffee in the room is terrible). We finally decided just to walk up to 50th St. and Broadway and get a coffee at the Dunkin Donuts located in the M-Train terminal. Doubletree Hotel location was perfect, I would stay here again (I’ll bring my own coffee pot and coffee though).

This night was my use of a reward night courtesy of hotels.com (plus a considerable amount for tax and fees) Top dollar was paid for a premium king suite above floor 20. Upon arrival we were informed that they didn't have that room type available (tried to blame it on a booking code inaccuracy on the part of hotels.com)While the manager exhibited very good people skills, he was neither able to offer us what had been paid for in advance, nor correct the rate charged for the night we stayed. He did however comp 2 breakfast buffets for the morning. Ended up on the 12th floor with a view of a neon advert board. Comfortable room...GREAT bed, but at this price I would have expected working batteries in the tv remote and washclothes in the bathroom.

We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone!!

Overall, the Doubletree was great for us - we had 3 people, and one of us used the fold-out couch in the living room. The hotel service was great. My only complaint (and it's a matter of personal preference) is that Times Square was not the right area for us - too many people. too much craziness. The hotel itself was very quiet considering its location. If we could find another Doubletree Suites in a quieter area of NYC, we wouldn't hesitate to stay there.

This hotel was amazing! We could not believe how perfect the location was... right in the heart of Times Square. It is in close walking distance to Restaurant Row, the theatres, and many bars and lounges. There is also a subway entry right outside the hotel doors. The room we booked had a bedroom with two double size rooms, and a living room with a queen bed pull out sofa, and we requested a roll-away bed (no extra charge). We fit 7 adults in the room!!! Sure it was a little crammed, but saved us so much $$$. There are two sinks in the bathroom, plus a wet bar sink outside of the bathroom, so that helped with having 7 people. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel... whenever we requested additional towels or other things, the response was very quick, the front desk staff were extremely nice, everything was just perfect!

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Doubletree Hotel in Times Square. The hotel was clean and the bed and furniture were extremely comfortable. The bathroom was very clean to my expectation. They placed us on the 41st floor--what a great view!! We were high enough away from the noise of time square but could still see the beautiful scenery down below. I am glad they offered a suite with this hotel (actually I think all of their rooms have suites). I had room service come for one night and I am pleased with that. However, their breakfast is a little expensive--I recommend hunting around the area you are in to find breakfast, but lunch and dinner I believe compete with the prices you will find in the Times Square area. Check in was fast and efficient and the staff was very friendly. Check out was the same and I had no "mysterious" charges at the end except for the things I knowingly charged. So I am pleased with that. Overall, I had a great time in Times Square and a great time residing at the Doubletree Hotel in Times Square. I will definitely come again and recommend to friends and family. Also, the cookies are wonderful!

Only minutes walk from the Broadway theatres, restaurants and the shopping on 5th and 6th Avenues. Plenty of subway stations close by. Excellent, really helpful staff.
