Having stayed here at least 250 nights, I got exactly what I expected. Although it is now Holiday Inn (was Comfort), nothing has changed. Elevators are still much too slow (why would staff call and use the elevator to go DOWN one flight?) and not all in use. Air conditioning did not appear to be on (mid-April) and had to open the window.

The hotel was pretty nice overall. It's in a terrific location that is walking distance to many great restaurants, museums, and areas of the campus. The room was very clean and everything worked reasonably well. The service wasn't outstanding, but it wasn't dreadful either. I'd come back.

Great location to walk to most must-see places. Rooms were very clean, spacious and comfortable for the price. Staff very friendly and helpful. Cab ride from airport to hotel is pretty pricey 60$ but it beats paying for parking.

We rented a 'two double bed' room. We were told at arrival that they were upgrading us to a 'two queen size bed' room at no extra charge. When we got to the room, the beds were double size beds only. No major complaints about our stay. We found the room with 2 double beds a bit small and having no closet was an inconvenience. Instead there was an armoire but the ironing board was stored inside as well making it quite squishy. Too much furniture in the room for the size making it seem smaller

This hotel is convenient for Bloor/Yorkville attractions. It is reasonably priced and clean. The rooms and fixtures are a bit dated but well cared for. The staff is attentive and friendly. I especially liked the free internet service. The parking is very convenient with an underground garage directly attached to the hotel.

I would definitely go back to this hotel it is in a great location. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The only thing that bothered me was that every morning there was a lady screaming from Wed thru Sat except Sunday. Holiday Inn - Bloor Street is situated close to University of Toronto and it is very convenient to the subway. There are many restaurants within a five minute walk, and several food, drug, convenience stores within a one minute walk. Hotel room was a little dusty and housekeeping did just the minimum each day. But towels were clean, linen was fresh […] and carpet was clean. Broken sink stopper remained broken and unusable for the five days we were there, it sat in parts on the vanity. Extra towels were provided within minutes of our one request. Hotel was very quiet and seemed very safe. Elevators could be a little slow in the morning, but many older hotels have this problem. Numbers on the elevator keypads needed some upkeep, some numbers were upside down and "G" for groundfloor (lobby) not always readable. Not really a problem, but just an annoyance that the hotel could remedy quickly and make a better first impression. No real complaints, would stay there again and would definitely recommend it to others. Overall, Quite Good. Read more

Superficially this is like any other Holiday Inn - a no frill just above the average - but this one goes out of its way to fall through the bottom. It starts from the garage - a cramped, stinking dungeon shared with other businesses. Hotel charges ~3 times average daily price of the surrounding lots. In reception it takes the clerk and his manager to […] find and handle your Expedia reservation. You get one room key and a password to otherwise free Wi-Fi. The room, ice-cold at 60F, greets you with one bottle of plain water, provided "as a service for you convenience" at a hefty mini-bar price. 20+ years-old TV set - a tube - with exceptionally blurry picture is not entertaining; undersized queen bed is as hard as a pine plank. There is no complimentary breakfast but hotel restaurant (independent franchise) will happily provide an expensive one in an average setting. After checking out you want to use the restroom, just to find that you need to get a key from reception. This sums up the experience - you slept in an overpriced motel owned by a gas station. Certainly I would stay there again. The location is fantastic - near museums, University of Toronto, art galleries, high end shopping, neat restaurants and a subway stop across the street. Subway is awesome - safe, clean and fast. Never used the car. Neighborhood is nice for walking - great old Victorian houses well maintained and pocket parks here […] and there - very liveable. We arrived to find that our sink was broken and draining into a bucket under it. When we asked for another room Reception said none was available. They offered free breakfast. The town was full for an event so we had not choice but to stay. Not fun spitting toothpaste into the toilet and watching the basin fill up with dirty water. We chose this hotel because it was walking distance to some medical care we needed. Turns out it was also very convenient to the subway and lots of restuarants. You can get a Greyline pass to use all week and the bus stopped right outside the hotel. Hotel was clean, reasonably well appointed, a good value. Near both trendy upscale shops, good museums (Bata Shoe and Royal Ontario Museum) to the east, and more funky diverse restaurants to the west, and the university to the south. A great base for exploring Toronto.
