"Unbeatable quality, price, comfort, and staff"
This place is all you could ask for for a family vacation to Halifax. The room was big enough and comfortable, including a well designed bathroom with a good shower. Our room on the 14th floor provided a view of the harbor and casino, towards Darthmouth. The hotel location is great for any downtown destinations like the Citadel, Metro Center, Waterfront, […] Ferry, etc. The hotel is very new and the staff, which appears to be sourced from other successful Hampton locations, is eager to please, friendly, and very helpful. You can park in the garage for less than other city garages, and still access your car very easily. The breakfast downstairs is included and is similar to the usual Hampton self-serve breakfast. Coffee and tea are available anytime. The pool is quite small, but fine for anyone looking to get the kids in the water for a quick splash. I wish you could count on all hotels being this usable and reliable! Absolutely no complaints -- can't even think of any improvements to suggest. Thanks Hampton Inn! "Unbeatable service, location, and comfort!"
We loved it here -- two nights in Halifax during hurricane Arthur. Location is an easy walk to Citadel, waterfront, ferries, hockey stadium, University.... The place is brand new, and the staff appears to be picked from other successful locations to get them started. Very helpful and extremely friendly. The garage parking is very convenient, and though […] it costs a little, it's less than any normal city garage. The room had a nice view of the harbor (up on the 14th floor anyway) looking towards the casino and Dartmouth. The building is on a street where they're remodeling both large apartment buildings right across from the hotel. But this is not a problem, just an indicator of a burgeoning neighborhood. The beds were quite comfortable; the bathroom was clean when we arrived and large and easy to move around in. The breakfast downstairs is included and is similar to any Hampton Inn. The coffee is actually pretty good! The pool is pretty small, but fine for a quick splash. Overall we really liked this place... can't think of anything that really needs improvement. "walking distance to boardwalk"
excellent stay, clean rooms, courtious staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel and room were very nice. It is evident that the hotel is very new and therefore has wonderful clean and up to date facilities. We had one issue with check out. The hotel told me I did not pay for the room in advance and I had to show them the email and stand around while the manager was called and then she had to call and verify with hotels.com […] that we had paid. The front desk staff were nice enough about it but it took 20 minutes for them to varify everything which made us late that morning. I would stay again but just provide my booking e mail verification / proof of payment at check In. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent Accomodations, Service and Location"

This was our first visit to Halifax and this hotel was one of the ones recommended by the booking service of the Nova Star ferry. If you've been to a Hampton Inn in the US, be prepared to raise your expectations. We and our traveling companions were greeted and assisted during our stay by Veronica and Amelia, who went out of their way to make our visit enjoyable. I told them, only half joking, that we would return to Halifax just to stay in our room again. In addition to a great staff and superb rooms, the location is just a few blocks from the harbor front, board walk, restaurants and commuter ferry. The free breakfast was as good or better than many pre fixe buffets.

My sons and mother recently visited Halifax for a family vacation and stayed at the Hampton Inn. We arrived very late - 1:30am and we were greeted warmly by the reception. The hotel appeared to be new. Our room was very comfortable and well laid out. We enjoyed our complimentary breakfast as well. The hotel is located within a 5 minute walk from the waterfront area of downtown Halifax and a couple minute walk from the Halifax Citadel. I had not stayed in a Hampton Inn prior to this visit so I wasn't sure what to expect. I am so wonderfully surprised by this great hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling into Halifax for leisure or business!
"Beautiful Hotel Parking Challenged "

A beautiful hotel with all the amenities one would expect from a Hilton. The complimentary breakfast is quite extensive and will satisfy anybody. Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Make sure you factor in $20 a day for parking in the hotel garage when considering to book. Not entirely happy that we had to walk up through the garage to get back to our car due to a malfunction in the main pedestrian entry door. Felt weird walking up to the garage door scanner to get into the garage through the vehicle entrance as well. I feel they should have not charged for parking due to this inconvenience. Otherwise a great stay.
"Excellent Hotel esperience"

This was a brand new hotel at the time of our stay. (Barely a month old) It was what you'd expect staying as one of the first guests in a room and a hotel. The staff were efficient and helpful. Great central location.
"Brand New (June2014) Makes the Better Hampton Stay"
07/24/14 DebBillingsMorrison Fernandina Beach, Florida
Our recent stay at the Hampton in Halifax was a good experience. The high-rise is located within an easy walk of great dining (on Argyle Street), the wharf, the Citadel, Public Gardens and many other attractions. The hotel staff are very well trained and made an effort to meet our every need. Our room was not large, but was accommodating enough. Many of these type hotels have no space to set a second suitcase, so one person is always digging in a case that is on the floor or hoisting it up on the bed. The breakfast service at this Hampton is still getting the kinks worked out. I think the hotel is/was so brand new, they have yet to be sure how to work the rush time and then ebb and flow of guests as they come in for breakfast. Coffee urns were completely empty more than once, which seems a little like poor planning given the fact that they could have prepared another ahead of time and then would have been ready to change out an empty pot instantly. Nonetheless, the staff who work in the kitchen area were so kind and did everything to respond quickly to any guests need. The best part of this Hampton breakfast area was the fact that there are real dishes, real coffee and tea cups and real flatware. It could be because they are new, or because they are actually connected to another Hilton property that has a higher price point, not sure. Suffice is to say I love having something other than plastic or cardboard dining ware and utensils. I give this one high marks and would recommend a stay at the Hampton if you plan to be in Halifax. Be advised parking is additional and is $20./per day. It bears repeating that this hotel is brand new so linens are fresh, fixtures are new and it still smells new...a really excellent benefit.

New hotel with clean comfortable rooms. Everything in the free hot breakfast comes in frozen and is rethermalized. Staff is very friendly and helpful. I would stay at a Hampton Inn again. Free wifi a definite plus.Like most other hotels,Hampton Inn has HD TVs and they actually have HD channels.
"Great new Hotel"

One of the newest and greatest hotels in Halifax. Accessability was good with a full roll in shower for wheelchair in room 925 only. Needs an accessable automatic door for room. Complimentary hot breakfast was amazing. Love the waffel irons.
"Fantastic place to stay!"

When we stayed here, this hotel had only been opened for a month, however, it all ran like clock work! It is very clean and the front desk staff were extremely friendly. The room was an oasis of comfort. The bathroom is large with a walk in shower. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and there was a very large flat screen TV. The room was extremely quiet. I never heard any noise from the hall or other rooms. However, there is a large construction project going on outside of the hotel and we were woken to jackhammers each morning. We had a harbour view room, but honestly, it didn't make much of an impression on either of us. The breakfast in the morning was included in the room rate. The first morning we went to breakfast little earlier and there were lots of hot and cold choices including many types of bakery delights, cereals, eggs, bacon, and a make your own waffles station (which I highly recommend). The second morning, we arrived a bit later, and unfortunately the wide variety of choice was severely limited. The kitchen could do a better job of replenishing the food on the buffet. This was disappointing as there wasn't even bread for toast. The hotel has a pool and workout room in the basement. We wished there would have been a hot tub as the pool was a little cold. However, this brand new hotel is located close to several attractions in Halifax. It is about a 2 block walk (downhill) to the Harbour, it is close to the Casino, and close to the Citadel. We had stayed earlier at the Four Points. To compare, the Four Points had better access to the harbour but given the choice, I'd stay at the Hampton Inn because it is modern, cleaner, and includes breakfast. Please note that it costs $20 per night for parking and there is an AAA/CAA discount when you book a stay.
"Good place to stay"

Nice hotel. Good service. I was charged for 3 nights when I only stayed for 2. I did have to make 2 phone calls to straighten it out and left a message with the Manager to call me back. Its been 4 days and they have not returned my call. I would think a discount on my next stay would be nice, as it was a bit of a hastle.
"This is the spot to stay"

There is no way to find fault, everything you have come to expect from a maritime experience is found here.Clean, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, engaging staff makes this place a jewel in the Hampton crown.A buffet breakfast is hard to get excited about, get excited cause this on is off the hook, and so was staff. Also the pool was very refreshing after a long journey,if you like refreshing. As per normal an exceptional bed, clean, neat and so comfortable, bathrooms and floors were spotless.Well done to all the staff who work so hard behind the scenes to make things so perfect for others, thank you.
