Great downtown location only stayed for 2 nights to ski on Mt. Rose. Short trip is good for family after a long day of fun time. Don't have to think about parking and restaurant. Room rate just right for the age of the hotel. Weekdays buy one get one free dinner buffet coupon is a deal.

This Harrah's isn't the same experience as it's Las Vegas big brother but it provides everything you need for a stay in the Biggest Little Town in the World...assuming you are just looking for a place to stay without the frills of a party life. We came to go skiing and so it was adequate for this purpose. You can walk to all the downtown hotels and enjoy those environs including Circus Circus for the kids. If you are looking for a party, you may want to check out one of the other more updated hotels like GSR. In any case, always ask for the West Tower as it is the remodeled side and costs just a smidge more.

The room is too small for our pets. For the pet fees they are charging (more than double the pet fees charged by other hotels in the area), I would expect a bigger room or better amenities for our pets. We go to Reno very often and normally stay in other hotels.

I originally booked an East Wing room for $35 and I think because of my Harrah's membership I was upgraded to a wonderful room in the West Wing. We had a great All You Can Eat Sushi dinner at Ichaban.

Checking in was a nightmare. First, Check-in sent us to the wrong tower. Had to walk all the way from that tower to the lobby to sort it out. Next, we were directed to the room we were assigned, but it was LOCKED from the inside. Who or what was in there? I have no idea. After another trip back to the check in counter, they finally gave us a room we could access. The staff chalked everything up to a little 'mistake'and little else. Room was fine. We were hoping to soak in hot tubs, but they close at 7pm.

The hotel was alright. Definitely not 4 star. In the room, they had charge on water, coffee etc. Also in the bill they added 50$ extra charge for resort facility. We did not use any of their resort facility.

Very pricey, pay attention to all the extra charges they have especially if traveling with pets - they charge extra $60 plus cleaning fees and $25 resort fee - for the room your getting it's no different to stay at the other hotels downtown that are not so pricey! Look online too, you get a better discount online with Harrahs whereas some of the hotels downtown it's just better to show up and don't pay online fees!

room conditions were representative of a hotel that has neglected regular maintenance and upkeep. The rug had ripples in it from age, the room a/c was so noisy we had to turn it off, the non-smoking room seemed to collect smoke from the casino and other smoking areas. The buffet was very good.

The sound proof needs some upgrading. We have been woken up a few times at night because people were walking and talking in the hallway. Need more facilities beside gambling. Room is clean and spacious.

Good location, but a dated hotel with unclean rooms. Although our room was supposed to be "Non-Smoking", we immediately smelt smoke upon entering. The room also smelt like a wet dog...I guess this is what we get from a pet-friendly hotel. For those of you with allergies, I'd stay someplace else!

The location was great, right in downtown. The room was nice and clean. Only issue was that the garage elevators kept malfunctioning; guess from the cold of winter, so it was difficult getting to the car. Otherwise, our stay was pleasant and the rooms had nice views too.

Their internet speed is likely that for dial-up modem based quality. I couldn't see the video through the internet. Even though this kind of poor service, they charged U$13.99 for 24 hours and their Wi-Fi internet service is limited for just two devices. When I ask this kind of usual policy, front desk supervisor, SAM, rush me very rudely. She didn't have any polite manner. I was too much embarrassed by her violent response. And even though I requested room clean-up service, they didn't do that.

Enjoyed our stay,didn't realize you had to ask in advance for refridgerator in room or that the coffee in room wasn't complimentary..that would have been nice to have free coffee in AM. Access to Amtrack and other casinos was very good. Bought tickets to "2 Kings" asked at registration desk about the show, found out after we purchased tickets there were $5.00 off coupons at registration desk, but we didn't discover this until too late.

First off, I requested a king size bed. When checking in at 3 pm before the 4 pm check in time, I was told that they were all out of king rooms and I would be given 2 double beds. When I mentioned it, she told me that I was getting a more expensive room for the lower price. This was an outright lie as I knew through the booking that both rooms were being offered at the same price. When I got to the room, it was clean and seemed nice enough until I tried to sleep at night. The room was at the very end of the hallway and the rooms adjacent to my room were filled with "Santa Crawlers" that were partying in the hallways until 2 am in the morning. I realize this was not the fault of the hotel and I could have called down to the front desk, but I felt why make waves. I wasn't getting any sleep for the rest of the night because the bed was as hard as a rock and I tossed and turned all night. If the CIA needs more torture devices, I would suggest taking prisoners to Harrah's Reno for a night's stay. The next morning, a cup of coffee sounded like a good idea except the coffee maker would not work which was frustrating since there was actually a charge of $1.50 for the coffee. On top of it all, all the cups were paper. I have never stayed in a "nice hotel" that didn't provide water glasses or at least coffee mugs. Obviously, this was not a "nice hotel" and thankfully, I got a decent rate as full rate would have had me rating this hotel a "Terrible". I will never stay here again
