The Ideal Hotel is clean and right next to the Metro. It's also above a bakery and next to a nice restaurant Nothing fancy here but a good choice if you want to save a few euros!Genuine Expedia guest review
"ideal - less than ideal"
First time visiting Paris, so booked based on very little information. the rooms and bathrooms here are extremely small - seriously like a matchbox.. single elevator servicing all floors - room on the 4th floor ended up having to use the stairs most of the time. city accessible by train - but this hotel is situated in the far end of the city. better […] options are available so do your research Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ideal hotel design- Paris, Sept.2011"
This was my third stay at this hotel, and if it had been my first time I would not have come back. The room given to us was very small in comparison to the previous occassions. There seems to be construction in progress and banging next door started at eight in the morning. There is no air conditioning so this should rule out a summer stay, as this […] room had very poor ventilation. On the plus side, there are local markets where you can buy refresnments and something to eat without going broke. Very accessible to the metro as a stop is just accross its front door. Hate the inconsistency and wonder what would I find the next time. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Okay hotel if you get a decent rate"
Hotel was undergoing some renovations, Rooms are decent size, but do not expect for space for luggage. My room was dark in decor and lighting in room was extremely limited. If you drop anything black on the black shag rug, you were down on your knees feeling around. There is no A/C. You have to advise Front Desk that you want English speaking channels […] on TV so that you can get BBC. Front desk need to be more informed. They were quite limited on providing directions to places in Paris. Location of hotel is on the last stop of the Metro #4 line. It is not close by to any attractions, but if you know how to travel using the Metro or RTR, you can get to most places within a half hour using connecting lines. There are a few decent restaurants close to the hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Ideal Hotel Design - Highly recommended"
We stayed at this hotel for 7 nights during our first visit to Paris in early August. We liked almost everything the hotel could offered - Location right by the subway station, cleaness of the room, good room service and friendly front desk staff. Great value and enjoyable stay overall. The only suggestion is that cleaning ladies need to lower their […] chatting voice while they are working around. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"It's a 3 star hotel, what do you expect?"
The hallways were being painted & rugs replaced, unfortunately with same poorly chosen fabric. Good location, staff friendly, helpful, decent English. Rms small, had a frig in ours though-unusual in a 3 star. Take an upper rear rm for quiet.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Wouldn't stay for longer than one night"
This was our last night in Paris after a trip to Brugge. The Hotel was being remodeled and there were paint cans and partially carpeted halls, which was not a problem. Neither was the dark purple and black decor an issue but the enlarged photo of naked woman in 4 inch heels was just a little close to mild pornagraphic. I would have been happy to dismiss […] it but for the mirror on the ceiling above the bed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Dirtiest Hotel I've Ever Seen"
This hotel has no air conditioning and paper-thin walls. Additionally, it had the dirtiest floors I have EVER seen in a hotel. I wore flip-flops or socks when walking in my room, I would never dare to go bare-footed. The hair dryer was broken, the shower was tiny and there was a rip in the curtain which allowed water to soak the bathroom everytime we […] bathed. Several staff members were very helpful, and several were rude or uninterested in helping or answering questions. All staff members did speak English. There is a Metro stop right in front of the hotel which made navigating the city easy. I would not reccomend this hotel. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great little hotel"
Our family (2 adults 2 kids) had a great stay at this hotel. The weather was very hot but with the windows open and the floor fan on it was pretty comfortable. There was noise from the street but that didn't bother us - just what you would expect from a busy city location. It certainly didn't stop us sleeping at the end of a long day sightseeing around […] Paris. A tasty continental breakfast was included and served in a very pleasant breakfast room on the first floor. The staff were all really nice and one male member of staff in particular was very helpful in assisting us when our wee boy suffered a nosebleed over the bed (sorry about that!). The entrance to the metro is right outside the hotel - very handy - only 10 mins or so to the centre of town. The patisserie next door is also a delight!! We would definitely stay there again. "Good location for the price"
The hotel is right at the end of metro line 4, Port D'Orleans, so handy to get to different parts of Paris. When looking at this hotel the pictures showed a bath tub, but I ended up with a shower. Room is basic, but clean. Based on the price I payed it was good enough for me. Worth noting that the breakfast wasn't included and ended up with an additional […] 65 euro's to pay at the end of the stay for 3 breakfasts. I had a room at the back of the hotel so it was quiet, the front of the hotel faces a busy road so there may be additional noise. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by Ideal Hotel Design Dear guest, All of our room have bath or shower so do not hesitate to ask us to change room next time. When you book online you can choose breakfast inclueded or not. Our breakfast cost 12€ per day per person or 15€ in room service. Hope to see you soon !

"Nice hotel but off the Paris metro map!"
The hotel was nice and fine for our needs. The staff were friendly and approachable and the room was comfortable, although I would have preferred a second pillow! That's just a personal thing though. We didn't sample the breakfast but there is a lovely 'boulangerie' next door, a few cafes and a couple of supermarkets.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Very basic, but ok"
Price is on the low end, so don't expect miracles. My client is nearby which was the reason to stay here + it advertised a gym which was my reason to select this (cheaper then normal) hotel. Gym was not worth it one rowing machine and a bench press no free weights at all. Rooms were not sound proof at all (could clearly hear the nightly activity of […] the neighbor couple) directly next to port d'orleans which takes you quivkly to the Centre audience seems to be young couples looking for a bargain to spent a weekend in Paris. "no aircon, dirty beds"
I don't mind tiny elevators and paper-thin walls, but if you're going to charge 147 euros a night, you better have clean beds and aircon. Guess what this hotel didn't have. I don't think this is a reflection on the hotel staff who were very helpful and courteous. It is more than I was expecting, nice staff and good hotel rooms. The only things I would comment on is the small elevator and the proximity to the train station at night. For me this last one was not a big deal and it becomes an advantage during the day.Genuine Expedia guest review
good, nice and clean room just enough for two persons. Breakfast served in nice way. Overall opinion good hotel except charges when you checked out, don`t try to take something from the small fridge in the room it will cost you a fortune.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Get what you pay for..."
Remember this is Paris in the Summer so a 3star hotel next to a metro station in an OK location for under $200 a night is about expected. (Our London hotel was about the same per night). We were on 7th out of 7 floors with an elevator that held three (like a sardine can on a wire) so we steeled ourselves for the climb up the stairs after a day's travelling. […] The hotel's located right next to the Port D'Orleans metro station which is by a very busy junction, so prepare for a night of car horns. Watch out too for those smoking floors! "Nice Refurbished Hotel, A/C Would Have Been Good!"
Hotel has obviously had a refurbishment recently and it was different to anything we have stayed in yet, quirky but good! Location was good with the metro right outside the door but still quite far if you want to catch taxis etc. Quite a few restaurants and bakeries near by (would not recommend the one right next door though! Soggy pastries) which made […] it easy to find breakfast, lunch or dinner. I spent five days. The first rece ption was not satisfactory as we waited long to get room. The room is calm as i prefered not to take the street view. So the view was not so nice. But the room was very satisfactory. Location of the hotel is the best thing in the whole trip. In front of the door the metro station, tramway. Boulangerie is next door many […] supermarkets around you. Buses to every where in paris is few meters from the hotel. "Kinda cheesy. Not quite as nice as it looks."
The staff were nice and it was satisfying, but I wouldn't call it Ideal. I mean, there's tape on the walls. Tacky. Location was easy to get around on the subway, but there was nothing going on in that neighbourhood.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel bad location"
The staff is very friendly and nice, even though not all staff can speak English. The hotel is ok also, with this price we can't expect more. So overall is fine for budget travel. However, the location is in Murano island, which is not in the main island so everyday we have to use water bus, it is inconvenient. So if this is your first time travel to […] Venice with very limited time, i wouldn't recommend. Otherwise, this is a good choice. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Not an ideal spot."
A bit out of sight of major and popular attraction, close to the 'périphérique', this hotel is showing some signs of fatigue and clearly the staff is polite, but not friendly and warm. Parking is 3 streets away. the elevator cannot fit more than two luggage it is very narrow. NO A/C - in summer, prepare to sweat.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very nice rooms, extremely clean and cozy. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. Location is excellent as well. Surrounded by restaurants, pharmacies and supermarkets. Everything is walking distance. The metro is also right by the door and the hotel is about 20 to 40 minutes away from all the big tourist attractions, by public transit. I would […] go back. This hotel not only delivers good service and a decent place to stay but is in a really convenient location. Having arrived by Eurostar from London we caught the metro and after 30 minutes or so, with no changes, arrived right outside the hotel. Only a 15-20 minute trip on the metro to the major tourist destinations. Very good value for money and helpful […] staff. The patisserie right next door is also a big bonus. And the little Thai takaway a few doors down deserves a mention. There is lots of restaurants in the area and two supermarkets very close by. Appeared to be a safe, clean residential area. Our rooms faced away from the road so very quiet apart from noisy guests allowing their doors to slam shut and shouting in the corridor but you can't blame the hotel for that. For a hotel in this price bracket I don't think you could do much better. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Location. This hotel is right in front of Port D'Orleans station on the No.4 line as well as T3 Tram. Also the RER train is two stops away via the T3. Trés convenient! Bilingual service. We were greeted by helpful staff that despite our early showing was able to check us in earlier than the posted time. There have been attempts to restore the hotel, […] but it's age still shows through the contemporary painted walls. The rooms and washrooms are adequate and clean but are by no means Parisian-chic. We rested well, able to tackle Paris the next day. Rooms include WiFi. The free buffet continental breakfast was also a plus. Its saving grace is its location and, presents itself as good value. Would stay again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ideal location and very comfortable"
The hotel is ideally placed in a cool part of Paris with lots of nearby restaurants and cafes. It was comfortable and funky and clean. "Clean, modern and in a pleasant neighbourhood"
My partner and I spent the weekend at Hotel Ideal recently and had a good experience overall. It was right near the metro station and on the same line as Chatelet, St Germain and other useful stops for tourist destinations. The local area is what I would describe as a very nice, slightly upmarket inner city suburb - and not too touristy. "Nice hotel right next to Metro"
Three of us stayed in the Ideal Hotel in Porte D'Orleans. Room was very clean and good sized bathroom. Towels changed daily. Reception staff pleasant. Only down side was the room size which was really small for three people. However being next to the Metro was really useful and on the direct line to Gare du Nord for Eurostar.Genuine Expedia guest review

"noisy and smoking"
The walls were not sound isolated and we could hear everything from behind the wall and the ceiling. The elevator was so small that barely could fit two people squeezed. The room service was OK, the personnel were OK too (nothing special). The location of the hotel is good. it is close to public transportation and grocery shopping. everything in the […] walking distance. Although it was suppose to be non-smoking room, the room smelled like smoke and it was much worst when somebody in the room beside us was smoking. The noise from the street was always on,specially the ambulance's and police's alarms. In general, regarding the price you pay in an expensive city, the price was OK. We should have thought to ask for a non-smoking room as it was pretty musty and we had to keep the window open. "A great spot"
I found this hotel to be great. We arrived 2 hours before check in and they kindly held our luggage in a storage room, the staff were friendly and could speak English to varying degrees but all could communicate well to me having little to no French myself. The room was great and the bed was very very comfy! It was right beside a metro stop and the […] most delightful bakery going. And a lidl up the road for anything u might need. "Web pictures make it look better than it really is"
The photos of the hotel online made it look cool and modern. The rooms, although having modern decor, we're very simple and plain. The hotel is on 7 floors with a narrow winding staircase, and a miniature elevator that literally hold one person with bags or two without. Quite disappointing.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

We had a family room which was very spacious and you could not fault the cleanliness of the room off which had their own unique design of a modern French boudoir.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is on a main road, parking two streets away, but metro right opposite.
