Got to the Portland Jetport at 8pm. Called hotel for shuttle and was informed they couldn't find my reservation despite having the confirmation email. Was told hotel was booked. Ended up at a less then desirable hotel instead. Was only in Portland for one night. Whole night was ruined and ended up paying a fortune for taxi cabs.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, comfortable and easy"
Really appreciated the proximity to the highway and getting downtown. The fact that you could park for free was great, and in the mornings we did not mind walking (Holy Donut was only a 7 min walk down the street). We weren't in town for any games, but all of the stadiums are RIGHT THERE. The room was extremely clean, everything was comfortable and […] the front desk staff were very kind. Hotel is in a rougher neighborhood. Walls were thin and you could easily hear neighbors. Furnishings in the room were nice, but the room felt like it needed a good deep clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good value. Good breakfast and great serviceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Helpful staff, tired facility, decent location"
Front desk staff very helpful. Close proximity to downtown and highways . Physical plant tired, a little shabby. Ok for business, would not bring my family here.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Staff was very helpful and friendly."
The location was great the staff helped with directions, places to see and keep the facility very clean. I would recommend it to anyone who is going to Portland. Easy to get to the shops and restaurants from this location.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Ok, but not at the price"
For over $200 a night, i expect nice towels and a superior breakfast. This hotel had neither. Staff was nice and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is fine but the area is sketchy. If I'd known I would have stayed elsewhere.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It's not near downtown. But it's an easy drive to the bars and restaurants.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location near Hadlock field, we were able to walk there to enjoy a game Great price, half the cost of the marriott Room was clean and quiet We loved the poolGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient to downtown Portland and the waterfront"
We tried for several weeks to book a B & B, or a vacation rental, but it was a busy weekend in the Portland area. The hotels along the waterfront were either full, or selling rooms for $400 or more per night if they had any. Even the La Quinta was almost $200 per night, which, under normal circumstances, would be an extraordinary amount to pay for a […] budget hotel room. The property was well-maintained, and the room was clean and comfortable, however, this hotel's main attraction is its friendly staff. From the front desk to housekeeping, they were all nice to a person and did their work with a smile. I will never forget the housekeeper who, when we said "good-morning-how-are-you?" responded with a happy, "living the dream." We laughed and had a pleasant chat. We learned that she was studying to be a paralegal. In fact, many of the staff were students. All in all, it exceeded our expectations, and we appreciated the can-do attitude of this staff. "Reasonably Priced Accommodations"
We were in town for two days to see Portland and visit friends in surrounding towns. Location is good. There is a train track nearby, but we hardly noticed any trains passing. The hotel is a fifteen minute drive from the touristy waterfront of Portland. The rooms were simple but nice. Bathroom and in-room sink were clean and looked fairly new. Furniture […] in the room is typical hotel fare (except for the recliner - very comfy?), but in very good condition. Bed was very comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was good but not great. The usual -- cereal, yougurt, pastries, belgian waffles you can make yourself, fruit, etc. Sunday morning, there was plenty of seating. Monday morning, a tour bus was preparing to depart so the breakfast area was packed all morning. We at elsewhere. All in all, a good value and a very nice place to stay. "an option in portland"
location surrounded by a few 1-ways. staff seemed nice, room was comfy and clean, plugs for chargers were a pain and noise from interstate traffic was easily noticed in the room. overall not a bad stay by any means, but i HAVE had higher quality experiences for the same price and even less. i would consider staying again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great stay. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Will definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice, clean and affordable"
This hotel was very reasonably priced for a busy weekend in Portland. It was convenient, good amenities, helpful staff and the room was neat and clean. The rooms were in good shape, although the bathroom could have been a little nicer. It wasn't bad, but you could tell it had been a while since it (the bathroom) had been redone. Other than that the […] hotel was very much worth the money and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Nice, Clean Room and Helpful Staff"
We had a great stay at the La Quinta. Our room was nice and clean with a comfortable bed and good TV. The staff was very friendly and helpful, they provided us with lots of info about the city and called a cab for us and gave us a discount card. The only bad thing about the hotel is that it is a little bit on the outskirts of town but that is reflected […] in the lower price than comparable places downtown. "Did not give us non smoking room."
The room smelled horribly of smoke, and we had requested non-smoking room. I have bad allergies smoke and will not stay at a La Quinta again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Not bad, decent quality for the price (maybe a bit overpriced for what it is, but compared to some of the other hotels in the downtown area it was pretty reasonable). The biggest negative is that it is a bit of a drive to the 'downtown' area and the waterfront, but if you're OK with that, it's fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Comfy beds, clean rooms, staff friendly. It is very nice 2 star hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel for lower price"
We stayed at the hotel for a night. Room and beds were comfy, clean and simple. It was nice for its price. The only downside was the soap which was awful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Horrible cleaning crew"
They didn't even clean my room and I specifically told them that morning the room needs to be cleaned. We didn't have any TP, shampoo or tissue left and the cleaning crew could clearly see it. They took the trash away and threw 3 bath towels on our beds. It was the worst service I've ever had anywhere!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not bad, not good"
The hotel staff are top rate, friendly and ready to help when needed. The room was spacious. The mattress and sleeping quarters were clean. Bathroom was dirty in the corners, the toilet stuck, and the sink was not as clean as you would expect. The coffee is horrible, tastes like instant coffee. The neighborhood was loud, full of college/high school […] aged kids loud until the wee hours. About 15 min from downtown, handy for shopping. Next to the local ball field, so good if your wanting to go to a game. Overall, I would not chose to stay here again, but if I had to, it wouldn't be the worst place I have ever stayed at. No refridge in the room. Pool is not attached to the building, and we were nervous to go with the local kids outside. The air conditioner didn't work well, and the room was muggy and too warm. "Weird location, friendly staff"
We only stayed one night but it was clean and comfortableGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel was average in almost every respect. There were no real stand-out positives or negatives here. The room was clean, the staff were nice, the breakfast was fine, and downtown Portland was pretty close. So while there was nothing wrong with this hotel, the overall impression it created was that it was just "fine." There appeared to be many nicer […] hotels closer to downtown that I will be sure to consider seriously if I ever visit again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"poor service and not clean"
1. Returned from day trip after 3:00 pm and room was still not cleaned. When we asked why, office told us that they have been busy. 2. No place to sit down for breakfast. Staff have no smile at all. 3. Extremely noisy until about 1:30 am and we could not have a good rest on the first night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not planning to return"
We arrived around 9pm in the rain. The hotel parking lot was very full. We had our dog and the pet area was small but adequate for getting his business done. We left the hotel in search of dinner, and felt we were in a sketchy area. Maybe that's not the case, but it's how it felt to us. The breakfast area coffee machine was not working, causing the […] staff to belatedly bring out small pots of coffee for the breakfast bar. This did not go over so well with the several people waiting for the insufficient supply of coffee. All in all it was fine for a one-night stay, but now we know not to return to this La Quinta Inn; our experience has been better at others. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Highly recommend. My stay was great"
One of the best hotel experience I've had. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Bed was unbelievably conformable. Breakfast was great! Have no complaints.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fine for the price"
This hotel served its purpose, but it could have been in better condition -- my room was fine, but my sister's room had a smell of stale smoke in it. We couldn't beat the price, but I'd choose a better location in Portland if I had the budget for it -- this isn't far from downtown, but we didn't feel comfortable walking from the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to the transportation center"
The hotel is conveniently located. The staff is friendly and helpful. The bed is very comfortable. Good selection of breakfast items.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable but noisy"
The room was very comfortable, but we heard noise both from the adjoining room (loud TV at 2am) and from the hall (talking loudly at 5am). Possibly the hall noise wouldn't be an issue if we weren't across from the elevator. There's a freight train that passes right behind the hotel, but the noise from that was less intrusive or bothersome than the people […] talking and the TV blaring. The neighborhood seems pretty industrial but the location is conveniently near the highway so again, weigh your own priorities when choosing. There was a Denny's right next door though. The bed was very comfortable with plenty of pillows, the bathroom was clean, and the combination of microwave and fridge in the room without having to ask for it was a nice perk. "Overnite before am flight"
I found the young ladies at the frond desk quite articulate and friendly. They were efficient and helpful. The beds in room in 211 where I stayed were extremely comfortable and welcoming after a long day. Room was cozy and above average for the price paid. I needed to arrange for a shuttle or taxi to the airport at 5 am. To my delight the front desk […] receptionist made a phone call and made the arrangements and it was free. The gentlemen was there when I arrived at the front desk any 5 am. He was friendly and polite. Overall my stay was enjoyable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A smokey stay--again"
Overall this hotel is in a very convenient location--close to the train to Boston, easy to get in and out of. There is a very good buffet style breakfast and coffee available i the am. Quieter than other parts of Portland. The overwhelming negative part is the incessant smell of smoke throughout the hotel. The hallways, and my non-smoking room reek […] of cigarette odor. There must be poor ventilation between rooms, because when someone down our hall started smoking pot in his room, it quickly filtered into our room and hallway. "Not that bad, not that great. Good stop-over place"
Location was easy enough to find, though not the best place to walk around and feel safe. I was only in town for 17 hours, so it was good to crash overnight in between work trips. My room was supposed to be non smoking but it REEKED of smoke. At first glace the room was clean, but my socks and feet were filthy after walking on the floor and carpet without […] shoes. I don't think anyone has cleaned the carpet/floors in some time. Didn't have time to take a shower. The bed was comfortable and I was able to open the window, which was nice to escape the cigarette smell. The hallways are noisy, but thankfully quiet at night. Customer service was just okay. Only the cleaning staff smiled and greeted you. The office staff pretended that you didn't exist until it was time to process your room. I've stayed in worse places, though. oh, another irritating observation; no automatic doors in the hotel entrance. It was frustrating to navigate the doors carrying heavy bags. And, the front desk staff didn't offer to help, even though they could see I was struggling. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed at this hotel for one night of the two that we paid for. At 2:00 am the noise from the room on the other side was very loud, and annoying. The walls are paper thin, and the hallways smelled like marijuana. Breakfast time, too many people, so we walked to Denny's. I will not go back to this hotel, and don't recommend it, unless you are a Party […] person. Staff very friendly. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Solid price point and easy access to highway and short trip to old port. Nothing fancy but in good shape. I liked the rooms better than the nearby Clarion.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Handy to I-295 and The Seadogs stadium. We walked to Monument Square from the hotel, but considered it a fair hike. Better to take your car if you wish to explore the Old Port area which is on the other side of Portland.Genuine Expedia guest review
