Loved this place. The people, the hipster vibe, the free healthy breakfast, the great service at the front desk, bar, restaurant, etc. They just do all of the little things really well. I'll search for other Hoxton properties on future trips near and far.

"Highly recommended"
Hotel is centrally located and it is incredibly nice and cozy. The atmosphere is fantastic. Most importantly, the staff is very helpful and friendly. We stayed in a canal-view room and we enjoyed it a lot. We stayed in two hotels in Amsterdam and this one is definitely top of the notch.

"Sjarmerende flott hotell!"

"Great hotel with a restaurant that could do better"
08/02/15 JBoqvist Gothenburg, Sweden
The location, lobby and guest room was great! We Really enjoyed this hotel during our three night stay. Reception staff was friendly, informative and efficient. A breakfast bag was delivered to the door every morning, and that was great since we don't really want a big breakfast buffét anyway. We only ate at the restaurant one evening but didn't really understand how they could be 18 waiters (yes we actually did count them) in the restaurant and 6 in the kitchen when there only were about 50-60 guests during the time we sat there. Sorry to say that didn't make the service any better than it would with half that many waiters. Not saying the service was bad. Despite it was so overly manned, it was only good. We assume that was because they expected more guests as well as wanting to make a great impression during the first couple of weekends after the opening. The atmosphere in the restaurant was really good. Nice furniture and style. It's a place where you want to hang out with your friends for some drinks before heading out. Food was good but nothing more.

"Fantastic location; great ambience; still a few teething issues to iron out"

Best Bits: - The location; situated along one of Amsterdam's prettiest canals. Great for getting around; close to all the main tram stops and key attractions. - Warm and welcoming atmosphere - it was laid back and casual and always felt good to return to the hotel after a day out. - The staff ; we couldn't fault their enthusiasm particularly the bar and restaurant team. Service was quick and efficient. We've stayed in many hotels in Amsterdam and they were by far the best. - Free wifi everywhere in the hotel. Could improve: It's a new hotel and had only been open for a couple of weeks when we visited so we expected a couple of niggles. Worth mentioning for others visiting soon to look out for! - Rooms without a canal view; a lot of them are situated facing the inner courtyard and therefore don't get as much natural light as the ones facing the canal. Combine this with the wood panelling on the wall behind the bed and the dark floor and the room becomes quite dark, even with all the lights on. We stayed in a "Roomy" room - definitely worth the upgrade to a canal view if you can (in hindsight I'd have compromised on space and gone for a "Cosy" canal view to get more light). - The shower was warm at best, certainly not hot and the shower caddy housing the Pen & Ink toiletries had already pulled the wall plugs out of the wall leaving it hanging. Simple stuff to fix. - The bathroom door is frosted glass so if you're a light sleeper and your partner needs to use the bathroom in the middle of the night you WILL be woken up. Strange design idea! - Other reviews have mentioned this but yes the safe is on the floor. The floors are hardwood not carpet so if you intend to use the safe, save your knees and have one of the cushions at the ready. - Our room maid liked to keep the hairdryer hanging in the shower - everytime i came back there it was again - seems an odd place to put it?

"Not a great exprerience"

There were cobwebs on the ceiling lights right above the bed and a spider beside the bed. Complained next morning at the reception, and was assured room will be cleaned properly, but to our shock, it hadn't been cleaned. Given it was midnight, and we were in no mood to change rooms at that hour, we let it be. I complained again next morning at checkout to the same girl at reception. She apologies again but that was of little help as our experience was already ruined. Also, was woken up both morning at 8am and 9am by loud drilling noise, which apparently came from construction next door.

"A home away from home, but more exciting!"
07/31/15 Wendy D Kolhorn, The Netherlands
We went to stay for a night at the new hotel in Amsterdam and we enjoyed every bit of it. It's location in the heart of the city, alongside the canal is absolutely fabulous. When we entered the hotel itself, we felt immediately at home. A great combination of a lazy Sunday afternoon feeling and the anticipation of something new to discover. Upon entering the room, we both said: let's gift wrap the entire room and take it home. We simply liked it that much. And that was before we had even discovered the welcome card, tried the bed, and the shower... Hotel staff is very friendly, the lobby is a multi-purpose one as it can serve as a working spot, meeting place, restaurant and more. In all, we decided that on our next stay to London, we will definitely book the Hoxton over there. Great place to stay!

"Fantastic new hotel in the heart of Amsterdam!"
07/30/15 Travis C Barcelona, Spain
I stayed 3 nights at the newly opened Hoxton hotel from July 15-18th and I was blown away by how well the property was running for only being open for 2 days at that point. Great location, front desk staff were on top of their game, very pleasant to speak with and I loved the layout of the hotel. I would recommend one of the "Roomy" rooms facing the canal (room #102 was perfect!) For someone who often visits Amsterdam, I don't know of a better place to stay! It has everything you need, great wifi, comfy beds, healthy breakfast included, lively bar/lounge, great work space area, etc. I look forward to seeing you guys again soon. Thanks for a memorable stay!!

"Staycation...."
07/30/15 Arturas Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Stayed one night to check out this new place. Stayed in cosy canal view with a view to Herengracht. Must say rooms do feel very cozy and views are beautiful. Loved colors and little details used to decorate room. Bed comfy too... Some things I did not like: Toilet installed in front of shower which means, after showering it will get wet. I do understand the space in my specific room ( 514) is limited but was definitely big enough to do different set up... I have noticed big difference in service. Seems they have guys from UK(?) and Dutch guys working and you could notice that not local employees are more service minded and friendlier than the local ones... But then again, it is not a secret dutch service is not high level in avarage... Hope it will get better as they are just opened... During breakfast in restaurant, one of hotel's employee was working and taking incoming calls... I do believe they have office space to do their job and would have been nice to use restaurant space for what it's meant to be....

"Exciting new hotel with great details"
07/25/15 LOneno NC, USA
I love the details that make a hotel unique, and this one has plenty. The lounge areas are fabulous. If too crowded with people trying to soak up the good vibes of huias place, then escape upstairs to the quiet mezzanine and sink into a comfy chair, enjoy the beautiful decoration, and one of the classic books or magazines laying about. I was happy to spend my day ensconced in this hotel rather than exploring Amsterdam! The room was nice, the towels great, the bed comfy, the free breakfast baggie wonderful! We ate a good dinner at the restaurant and got even better recommendations from the receptionist for neighborhood restaurants. Everyone was super sweet and ready to be helpful. This will be an awesome place to stay! They do need a few more weeks to sort our their systems so that all elements can live up to their potential, but we loved it nonetheless. Looking forward to going back.

"Puts the Dam! in Amsterdam!"
07/24/15 DM_Traveling London, United Kingdom
Me and my now wife (recently got married) and decided to have a little mini-honeymoon away in Amsterdam (Having our proper honeymoon in feb 2016) Due to short notice we didn't have a lot of time to book accommodation but wanted to be as near as possible to central (so we could walk to the hot-spots). My wife found "The Hoxton" and she said it had basically only opened two weeks ago, so thought we'd give it a shot. Upon arrival the hotel feel's like a proper trendy bar/restaurant with usually a little crowd hanging outside the entrance. You will then see the reception with extremely friendly staff waiting to serve you right away. Once we got to our room we were absolutely delighted. The room is very spacious with an extremely comfortable double bed (very high ceiling too), has a little side table with a chair, shower with all necessary facilities, a fridge (this is a must for me and my partner), AC (This is a blessing and all hotels should have it) and best internet WIFI signal I've ever received in a hotel. A bonus was they had a "Roberts Radio" in our room which left on when we entered the room so came into some nice summer songs playing (we had this on every morning) Of course our stunning room was overlooking the Herengracht canal too!. Another great perk, which was a really nice touch by the hotel is they provide you a free light breakfast if you desire. Basically you will find a brown paper bag on your desk (additional bags for extra people staying in your room) which has some information to fill out (If you would like breakfast and at what time) you then hang this outside your door on a hook. When you wake you will find a bag filled with granola, fresh natural yogurt with blueberries, banana and bottle of orange juice. The Samsung TV we had in our room had a really nifty feature were you can connect your Android device (only certain phones compatible) to the TV where you can stream things like Youtube which I found pretty neat!. Also to take the lift from the ground up you will need to use your room key card. Great for keeping out unwanted guests but make sure not to leave your card if going down to the lounge. Reception also offer drinks for sale at shop value (so no extortion prices) I recommend the club mate cola! it's very tasty!.

"Hip Hoxton transported to the Dam with a Dutch twist"
07/22/15 tennessee2 Southampton, United Kingdom
The Hoxton Amsterdam is an amazing, stylish hotel, with a terrific friendly atmosphere, even though it had only been open less than one week when we stayed. Very friendly, welcoming staff, made us feel very welcome. Quirky, fun styling, close attention paid to every small detail. High quality fixtures, fittings, linens, toiletries, etc. In fact, it's so nice here that it's a dilemma whether the spend more time in the homely, comfortable hotel or to explore this great city. Excellent location, slap bang in the centre of Amsterdam, very close to the Anne Frank House and many other major attractions.
