The cross street and traffic from the quarry made getting to the hotel complicated. Otherwise a very nice hotel, and a very nice and helpful staff.

The carpet near the bathroom was wet as if there had been a leak or major spill before I arrived - the TV was on lock and kept turning off on its own in the middle of a program - the remote did not affect the TV and was more nuisance than it was worth - not anywhere near my usual Hyatt experience.

We came in for a youth conference in San Antonio and stayed here for two nights. The hotel was nice, the place was clean and it was in a good location. The only problem we had was when we checked in they gave us a room that when we went to the room there was already someones stuff in there. I went down to tell them and they apologized and gave us a […] second room and when we went up there and went in there was SOMEONE sitting in the bed. I thought that we would get a great night's sleep in a classy hotel. I could have walked into any number of non-descript hotels and gotten the same experience for way less than it cost. I paid $150 including tax for the chance to sleep on a hard bed, sit on a hard couch and deal with a shower stall that leaked water onto the floor and floor mat. My daughters and granddaughters were with me and we all loved our visit there. The girls loved the breakfast buffet, hot chocolate, and big TV most of all. They asked me if we could stay longer or come back sometime to stay again. We'll see.

For a Hyatt Place, we expected a bit more. The staff was pleasing, however, had a bit of a problem when we ordered some food (please order food at your own risk, description of meal does not match the real thing). My wife went downstairs and ordered a personal pizza, bruschetta, and a salad. The pizza was a Digorno and was not all the way cooked/baked/done. […] The bruschetta consisted of a chopped up tomato with salt and pepper sprinkled on top and a few crackers (even though the menu called for flat bread). The salad was jus a bunch of spinach thrown in a bowl.. that was it. When the cook brought the food out, my wife asked if she could take it upstairs. Somebody at the desk said "yea but you can still tip her (the cook)". My wife could not believe what she heard. All in all she spent $30 for something she could've bought at whole foods down the road for less and better quality. Do I recommend? Yes, for a short stay. cheaper than other Hyatt Place hotels in SA and so you get what you paid. Read more

Went to SA for outpatient foot surgery at an ambulatory center nearby. Positive---Location was great and convenient. Rooms were spacious. Reps were pleasant. Negative---However, matresses were terrible--old, very soft, lumpy, very uncomfortable. Asked for dinner through room service. Ordered 3 of the same and only one came as ordered, 2 plates were […] wrong. When the food was delivered, they said they'd be back with the drinks. About 15 minutes later, got a call to say we had to go down to get our own drinks because they were too busy. We were already in pjs and my son had to get dressed again to go down for drinks. Sofa sleeper was big and roomy, but terribly uncomfortable--both the sofa cushions (barely no cushion# and the mattress #lumpy). One could tell they were very old. If they would update their furniture and mattresses and get their act together on the "room service", I would stay there again because of the convenient location. The location is convenient, the staff is friendly, the breakfast was so-so, basically egg mcmuffin type sandwiches, mostly dried out. Biggest complaint was the room. Styled as a "suite" the room is horrible. Can't close the bathroom door till you are all the way in, it's that tight. There was no real separation between the bedroom and the "living room", […] so no privacy as I have seen in most "suite" style rooms. The A/C unit rattled all night and made sleeping very difficult. It's a really old unit and needs to be updated/replaced. Shower dripped all night too, so don't expect to sleep without ear plugs. We will not stay there again, and will return to embassy suites. The hotel was easily accessible to the airport, malls and some great restaurants. The breakfast in the mornings were especially well cooked and prepared. The only bad thing I can say about this hotel was that the gym was too small, needs a little bit more aerobic /treadmills. But overall, I really enjoyed my stay.

Overall the stay was wonderful and I enjoyed my room. I ordered a salad around 12am and the older lady brought the food to my room with dirty silverware. I was uncomfortable eating the salad because I started to wonder how sanitary was the preparation. That was my only complaint during my stay.

This Hyatt Place is very consistent with other Hyatt Places I've stayed before - very modern, clean, friendly. Staff was friendly and helpful. There was a free shuttle from the airport that came and picked me up ~15-20 minutes after I called (so call as you land or get off the plane).
