Here on business during the busy summer season. I had stayed at this hotel before and chose it over some other places for the price, ease, and comfort. We arrived early in the day and called the hotel for an early check in and it was no problem. The staff is very nice and accommodating. There is a restaurant at the hotel and all kinds of other venues. Rooms are nice no view, but nice and quiet. This hotel is the best for the price in Edgartown for my purpose.

If you are looking for a quiet hotel that is close to all the activity in downtown Edgartown, the Clarion Inn would be a good choice. The woman at Reception was very helpful. I had called a few days before our arrival to confirm our arrival and to request that our two rooms on the second floor be changed to the first floor (there is no elevator).. She said she would work on it and call me back. Within 15 minutes she returned my call with the result I was hoping for. Our dealings with Reception were always productive. Maintenance of the rooms could be improved, however. The AC was extremely noisy and went on and off all night. The water in the tub-shower dripped constantly or water came out in a steady stream after showering. We reported this 3 times to no avail. The soap is a small, thin bar which did not get replaced daily. Finally we had to ask for more. Lastly, one day the drinking glasses were not replaced by clean ones.
"Quite spot in Edgartown"

Enjoyed our two days at the Clarion Inn in Edgartown. It sits off the road and is very quite with large rooms. The staff was excellent and was very informative about the area and history. Grocery store and package store next to the motel. 5 miles from Oak Bluff and 1 mile from Edgartown. The previous review on Tripadvisor were right on and very helpful. I felt the price was very good as compared to the other hotels/motels in the area.
"Nice for the Price!"

Was there for memorial Day weekend & to visit family. The Clarion was perfect for our budget, we simply required a nice place to stay which was comfortable and clean. Parking was plentiful and the free continental breakfast was a bonus. Close enough to walk to downtown in 20 minutes with plenty of restaurants & shopping nearby. The staff was knowledgable & friendly!

we stayed here over memorial day weekend and it was clean and we got to check in early. parking was free and there is a restaurant onsite and a sandwich place next door. we didn't eat at either but it seemed to be busy. great location by stop and shop right next to the parking lot and there were two bike rental places across the street. the room was decent and while it was dated and the carpet had a few stains, it was overall a good value stay for a family. Breakfast was free but we only ate there one day. They had a cool pancake machine. Since we were never in the room, the little flaws didn't matter.
"DIRTY, Unfriendly staffs,Overpriced. "

Do note stay here THIS PLACE IS OVERPRICED WITH CHEAP BREAKFAST AND UNFRIENDLY STAFFS. It was at the last minute that we decided to go so quicky booked it on priceline. When we arrived there the lady wasn't so happy because we checked in kinda late at night. The room was nice with a newer looking compare to many other lodgings but thats the only positive thing about it. The bed was DIRTY that I found some black color hair on the fleece cover; it was nasty. It was late so I just didn't use it instead of bother calling down.. forget it. when it comes to breakfast to be honest dont think that you can fill a part of your stomach with it. They dont have many things here.. not even boiled eggs.. are you for real? If you're a beach person, there is no beach in a walking distance so everywhere you go either take taxi or the bus. THIS PLACE IS OVERPRICED WITH CHEAP BREAKFAST AND UNFRIENDLY STAFFS.

"A quality stay"

I booked 2 rooms at the Clarion for our traveling party of 4 on a Friday night, and we were not disappointed. The check-in process, though a bit lengthy, was pleasant, and the rooms were very clean and spacious. The location was extremely convenient just outside of Edgartown, and within walking distance to restaurants and a grocery store. We had a great night sleep in the comfortable beds. The continental breakfast was adequate, with plenty of packaged options; we would have liked to have seen some more healthy choices. Very good overall, and worth returning.

This small and friendly hotel is close-in and within walking distance to town. There is also a supermarket next door along with a sub shop and an upscale dining facility. What more could one ask? Well, for starters, contrary to other reports, the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Check in is quick and efficient . They easily changed me from a second floor room to my current one (104) ,right by the breakfast room and desk. My fears of noise never materialized and the convenience is great. The room, itself is spacious, spotless and very comfortable with a large queen bed and a fluffy, warm ,comforter. The bathroom likewise, clean, spacious with a large bathtub equipped with multiple grab rales (this is a wonderful safety feature needed, but not found,in most hotels. The free breakfast is in a large day room with TV . The food consists of juices, coffee/tea, English muffins, fruit and pancakes. (More than adequate). Even though the hours are 7-10, I noticed the staff stopping cleanup to accommodate a late arriving family. That doesn't happen often either. Lots of convenient free parking is a plus also. The free international is easily accessed and the day room has a free computer and printer.SO nice to have!!! For the money and convenience, this is the place to stay on the Vineyard as nothing on the island is far away.
"Good affordable accommodation"

My partner and I stayed at the hotel for a week in the off-peak season (Nov 2013). The hotel is situated right next to the Stop and Shop supermarket so it is very convenient if you want to stock-up on your late night snacks. From the hotel, it is a pleasant 10 minute walk to “downtown” Edgartown. If that is too much, you can always catch the bus that runs past the front of the hotel. We stayed in a first floor corner room, which I believe is one of the hotel's larger rooms. The room consists of a double bed, a couch and coffee table, a work desk and chair, bedside tables and a closet to hang your coats. There is also a room safe but there is an extra fee per night if you want to use it. The room itself was pleasantly decorated and was clean and tidy. The bathroom was also clean and had a large sink/vanity, toilet and shower/bath. It comes with the usual selection of small bottles of shampoo/conditioners and soap. The shower works well and you're always assured of a good refreshing wash. Being a corner room, it can be a little cold at night during the winter months. The room heater worked well but the fan was far too noisy to leave on for any length of time. It was noisy enough that you had to turn up the TV more than a couple of notches. It was a matter of heating up the room while we were out and turning the heating off when we came back in the evening. The room came equipped with a bar fridge, a drip filter coffee-making machine and a microwave (rather handy for heating your leftovers if you get peckish late at night). The TV was a large flat screen unit and there was a good selection of channels. Free WiFi was available but its performance was a little patchy at times and depended on the number of guests using it during the evening. Our hotel package included breakfast. This was a basic continental breakfast with boxed cereals, coffee/tea, muffins/cakes, fruit and pancakes (from a pancake making machine). I would skip the hotel breakfast and head into town unless you are feeling lazy. I recommend grabbing breakfast at Dock Street Coffee Shop where the food is deliciously bad for you (the menu includes French toast with bacon or bacon and eggs sunny side up… yummy!!). Being winter, many of the shops around Edgartown are closed for the season. Of those that are open, I would recommend visiting Espresso Love, Sharky's Cantina, Soigne, and the Newes. I also recommend the Artcliffe Diner (Vineyard Haven) and Linda Jeans (Oak Bluffs). The only negative comment that I have about the hotel is the poor sound proofing. Being off season, the hotel seemed to be playing host to out-of-town workers staying on the Island temporarily. They can be a noisy and an inconsiderate mob, making far too much noise late in the evening and first thing in the morning, way too early for me. Other than that, I cannot fault the hotel for its convenient location, comfortable rooms, affordable price and pleasant staff.
