"Decent hotel, excellent location"
A fairly standard Holiday Inn. Nothing particularly great or bada bout it. Bed was a bit hard but room was otherwise good. Excellent location for access to central London and major attractionsGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Satisfactory. But the cost is bit expensive. No free WiFi.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"London Marathon weekend."
We were in London for the marathon weekend and had stayed at this hotel in the past. Nothing was too much trouble and the hotel and all the staff were well geared up for others and myself running the Marathon. We had an enjoyable stay and would definitely choose this hotel again if I am lucky enough to get another marathon place in the future. Special […] mention to Alfie who resolved our mini fridge query, Greta in the breakfast restaurant and our Italian room maid. Thank you. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Most Enjoyable Stay"
From the moment we Walked into the Hotel we felt comforable. The staff were friendly and nothing was to much trouble. We enjoyed breakfast and was able to have all the things we wanted. Again the staff could not do enough for you. We were lucky with our room as we woke to bright Sunlight comming though the window, which put us in good mood for the rest […] of the day. All in all we had a good Stay and would return to this Hotel again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Served my good transport to the heart of London"
This is our second stay in this Hotel and we have just praise for everything from reception to cleanliness and a great breakfast. We will have no hesitation of repeating the experienceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
From the moment we arrived this hotel was brilliant..room was lovely and selection at breakfast terrific. Location was so central, beside tube and ten minute walk to Oxford circus. Staff were all very welcoming...all in all a great findGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Attentive, friendly and helpful staff. Room was neat and modern and cleaned daily. Would stay again and I highly recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent, far better then expected"
The hotel was in an excellent location, close to the tube, and with some good little eateries. The hotel room wasn't massive, but it was very clean, and the bed was comfy. The hotel staff were excellent changing our broken iron and holding our bags for us at the end of our stay. I would stay here again for the priceGenuine Expedia guest review
Excellent customer service, friendly and helpful, clean, upgraded to executive free of charge. Excellent location, tube 3 minute walk or Oxford Street 10 minute walk. Close enough for everything you want in London and situated on a quiet side street. PerfectGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I thought this hotel was very clean, the room was very comfortable and nicely decorated, although it was small, it was large enough for my granddaughter and myself. I found the staff were very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this hotel as it is ideal for a weekend away, only 10/15 mins walk to Oxford Street and 5 mins walk to Madam Tussauds […] and the London tour bus. I will certainly stay here again. "Friendly hotel, convenient location"
All round good hotel with very friendly staff. My room wasn't ready for 2pm checkin so they upgraded me. Only downside was very poor water pressure (sixth floor).Genuine Expedia guest review
"Holiday Inn near Great Portland St station"
Hotel fine, standard Holiday Inn. Minus points were sheets and blankets instead of a duvet and weak water pressure in shower. Did not have breakfast so can't comment on this.Genuine Expedia guest review
Close to Regent's park and underground. Surprisingly modern.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very comfortable beds. Bathroom very clean although rather small. Breakfast was excellent. Overall very good stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Clean, Comfortable, Great Location"
What more could you ask for? The room was small, but had everything you could need for a short stay - including in-room safe, hair-dryer, iron and ironing board. It also had a mini-bar/fridge, which is a bonus for budget rooms (bring or buy your own though, as the prices are steep if you drink their supplies). The hotel was clean, the bed was comfortable, […] the windows opened so you could get fresh air, but also air-conditioned if you don't want a draft. The location is perfect for the West End. Very close to the tube, so a great base for excursions further afield. Safe surroundings and lots of restaurants and bars close-by. We'll definitely be back if we find ourselves in need of a room in this area again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tired, overpriced, disappointing"
I stay in this area every week. This was one of the few 4* hotels I had yet to try (usually fully booked or comparatively expensive). I thought that the premium they charge and the popularity would make this a good place to stay. Sadly I think it is all down to the brand name. Generally I love Holiday Inns, but this one was lacking in many ways. Room/bathroom […] very small; yes that's par for the course in London, but it was also very poorly laid out. There was an armchair in the room I couldn't get to because it was down the side of the bed squashed up next to the wall with a table in front of it; and I couldn't close the curtains without having to climb over the same armchair and table. The furniture was all quite tired. The room was probably clean but it didn't look it (or smell very fresh). Aircon worked well. Bed was uncomfortable. The room service menu looked great, lots of choice, all sounded very nice; I had 3 meals and all of them were a bit of a mixed bag. Some well-prepared tasty components, but some bits were frankly rubbish (fries looked less fried more boiled). Service was always prompt though and price wasn't too bad. The whole place had a general air of neglect; the door to my room wouldn't close without a good shoulder barge as the door was catching on the frame. Towels in the bathroom also didn't smell very fresh. I'd happily return to any of the other (cheaper) 4* hotels in the area but this one would be my very last resort. "Good for sporting event"
Good quality hotel although we did have an issue with the booking over breakfast as the hotel did not have any confirmation of it from Expedia recommend you take your confirmation booking with you. Hotel staff were excellent and very helpful, had a great weekend.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice but a bit noisy"
Nice hotel and staff. However the walls must be very thin. You can hear other people easily and they had works in the roof after 10am. Staff were very nice and when I told them on the checkout they apologised and asked me if they could do something about it.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good hotel, attentive and friendly staff"

"Construction work ruins hotel stay"
We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn near Great Portland Street station after my wife gave birth to our baby. After four days of non-stop (necessary) interruptions from doctors, nurses, hospital aides, room cleaners, etc... we were exhausted and just wanted to sleep. We checked in around 4pm and showered. We had just laid our heads down on the pillows […] when the sound of jackhammering started, then drilling, then hammering. A complaint and a visit to the front desk ended with multiple room moves until we were away from the construction. The construction was necessary as the hotel rooms were falling apart. Old bathroom fixtures, broken tiles, and years of wear and tear that the construction crew was working hard to update. We did manage to get some rest, then headed back to see our child in the ICU at Portland Hospital. We left the hospital shortly before midnight and arrived back at the hotel just in time to take part in a fire alarm and spent the next half hour outside waiting for the fire brigade to clear the building. Special appreciation to the guy from the hotel staff that thought to hand out space blankets. Well done! The following day we received a note from the manager apologizing for the fire (false) alarm. Nice, but not so much as a free breakfast voucher or free wifi. And frankly, when I'm paying what I paid for a hotel room in downtown London, breakfast and wifi (free at local pubs) should come complimentary and standard. Poor value and won't stay or recommend. "Small Bathroom, Different Beds"
We hard 2 single beds in our room, but the mattresses were different hardness ratings, i..e one hard and one soft. This is a bit silly as if both of you want a hard mattress or both want a soft mattress then one of you is going to be disappointed, as we were. Also the bathroom was a bit small and you could only really get one person in at a time. Its […] a good job we didn't bring the cat to swing around. Other than that the room was clean and nice, as was the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
A great place to stay and the staff here are fantastic nothing is too much trouble. We arrived at 14.20pm and unfortunately our room wasn't quite ready so the reception manager directed us to the bar and when we got there a complimentary drink was waiting for us a very nice touch we thought..... around 14.35pm the manager came up to find us in the bar […] and was very helpful and helped us check into our room apologising again for the slight delay. We were here for four nights the room was nice and warm and as we were on the sixth floor nice and quiet even on New Years Eve !!! The tube station 'Great Portland Street' is just up the road no more than five minutes walk so that is excellent as we came down by train the tube station is only two stops down the line from Kings Cross. "Better off paying that little bit extra....."
..... Than staying here! Rooms were tiny and the bathroom was the smallest I've seen. Decor was worn and whilst I understand these rooms are used continuously it led me to look up the standards hotels have to reach to be 4*. This one is.....just...... Due to the 24hr services. I've used Holiday Inn before and not been dissatisfied, this is the worst […] example and massively overpriced, the location is good but that doesn't justify the cost. Room service trays were a common sight. One tray we saw was out in the corridors for 36hrs+. The only redeeming feature was the staff, there were really friendly and helpful as I was on crutches. However my husband emailed them this beforehand and yet we were still placed in a room at the far side of hotel as far away from the lifts as possible. So small using crutches with an air cast was impossible. Never reviewed in the past but really wouldn't recommend staying here to any one, unless it was a real bargain. I won't be darkening their door again though! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Great hotel as you would expect. Only downside was the cost of eating - hence we went out to find something more seasonable. Felt secure and comfortable and would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This is a good choice for a short break. It is much closer to Euston and OxfordSt/Regent St than we realised - all within easy walking distance. The Staff were excellent, very friendly and efficient, Breakfast was a good "hotel buffet" with chef available for choices. The room was smallish but comfortable, clean and quiet, The bath water was very hot! "Perfect location if you are getting the Eurostar"
Everything you'd expect a Holiday Inn to be.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was clean and bright and staff were polite and helpful. The bathroom was very compact and there was some noise but neither were too disruptive. I had a good nights sleep on both the evenings spent in the hotel and would certainly stay again given the deal we were able to get.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Holiday Inn London - Regent's Park Dear Jenny, Thank you for your kind comments on our hotel. We are so pleased you took advantage of our great central location, we have to admit we are very proud of it. The size of our bathroom reflects the fact that we are so centrally located, however, we hope you found that it was clean and had everything you needed. It's a shame you didn't get to try our breakfast, we are quite sure you would have enjoyed our award winning sausages, and eggs made exactly to your liking. It's great to hear that you slept so well and would certainly return. We look forward to welcoming you back as one of our many loyal customers. Kind Regards, Miriam, GM's office
I enjoyed my time at this hotel. It is well placed. Close to Great Portland St underground. The staff were excellent & very welcoming. My room was clean, the bathroom was pretty small though it did contain a full sized bath. My room although clean was well used & looking like it could do with new decor & carpet. It was well appointed with usual comfy […] bed & choice of pillow types. Overall a good hotel in Central London. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very close to UCLH but a bit tired"
The hotel is only a short walk from Gt Portland St tube, and only a little further to UCLH which was the reason for our visit. The foyer is modern and fresh, but our room on the sixth floor was not up to the same standard. I noted that the midweek room rate was listed at reception and we had paid less so well done Expedia - a bargain. The room had a […] tiny bathroom with a loose tap, and a shower that sort of worked but mainly covered the floor! We had a big flat screen TV, and Wifi (but costly). Nice location. Bathroom a little dated and could have been updated. I had a nice selection of magazines in my room which was great (I think I was upgraded to an executive room) but the room really was tiny - I've recently been in the US and perhaps got used to bigger but there was only the bed and just enought room to walk around it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"OK hotel in central London"
It was all 'just about ok' - room size very small and altogether a rather disappointing experience. Breakfast was good but expensiveGenuine Expedia guest review
"Average hotel and ridiculous WiFi prices!"
I booked this through Expedia's Top Secret Hotels offers, so wasn't aware of the venue until booking. I've been disappointed with Holiday Inns previously, but approached it with an open mind given that I've not stayed at this venue before. Essentially, mediocre is probably the best way to describe things. The hotel lobby is OK - pretty bland, but clean […] and tidy enough. Check in was fine, and the room's are typical Holiday Inn efforts - basic with a very cheap feel to them. One bedside lamp didn't work, the bathroom was very dated and in need of renovating. Nothing unexpected, but given the price of the hotel it was slightly disappointing. The biggest issue is, frankly, the £16 per day charge for WiFi. WiFi should be standard for free anywhere these days (and it is at Holiday Inn Express, the budget chain) so £16 per day is just blatant profiteering. This in itself would stop me ever deliberately booking to stay at a Holiday Inn given half a choice about it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice central hotel"
Perfectly pleasant hotel near to the post office tower and a couple of minutes walk from Great Portland Street or Regents Park tube stations. Our room was very clean, and had everything we needed including tea and coffee. Wi-fi was NOT free however! Breakfast was "on offer" at £14.99 but we declined this and found the nearby Starbucks, having a pastry […] and coffee for about a third of the price. It's about 10-15 minutes walk from Oxford Street, so handily placed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
