I checked out within 7 hours of checking in. Great check-in and everyone is VERY cool. Unfortunately, they forgot about how to run a hotel. I usually stay at a four seasons or peninsula, so was really not expecting much from this hotel. Stayed two nights, and left with overall good feelings. Initial impressions, however, at arrival was not good. The guys at the valet failed to help me with the luggage for a while, and they lacked the professionalism of the people working at a five star […] hotel. Check-in was smooth and friendly, if a bit causual. My king suite was relatively large, although the amenities were not good, and the quality of the furnishings were best described as maybe slightly better than IKEA. Rooms are quiet, and except for the bathroom, I didn't hear other guests (which is not the case in many "five star" hotels). Gym was really good, and the demographics of the hotel guests were such that people actually used it. Business center was a bit weak, charging $6 for 15 minutes of internet time. I think the best feature of the hotel was the restaurant. Food for the most part surprisingly good, and the woman at reception was fantastic. A couple of the high end wines are surprisingly decently priced (decent meaning, that $500 bottle of wine has less markup than expected). The student like guy who helped me at my luggage at checkout was also very friendly. Overall, it's a nice, friendly hotel in the middle of an area where service can be a bit uptight.
