I really wanted this hotel to be great. It is right next to where I played little league baseball in the 70's. The whole complex is under construction so it is a work zone. It is also supposed to be non smoking where we were but people lean out of their rooms smoking and you have to walk thru Parking was a huge issue too since about 10 spaces in the […] back are taken for dumpsters and junk. Lisa, the front desk person was EXTREMELY HELPFUL and tried to help, more on that later. We were put in suite 122. Stay away from it. It smelled of must and there was what looked like mold in the closet area. Horrible room. Lisa said she had a nice room and we could get it later. Well, that room was a part of a block reserved but not noted in their system so we were in the lobby for 2 hours waiting for a room. We called Hotels.com and they helped us get to another hotel nearby. Lisa was there when we got there mid afternoon, when we called later at night, when we got up and when we were waiting for another room at 4-5pm. She covered for someone then obviously someone didn't show up at 4. She said she was supposed to be off at 4 and should have our room done by then. Liked the two bedroom/two bath layout. Plenty of room for four people. Unfortunately renovation seems to be taking too long with little attention to detail. One bathroom lacking shower curtain & towels. Repeated calls to front desk to try and have them delivered. Had to go to front desk to make it happen. I have booked this hotel through expedia and when I got there to check in, they did not have my reservation. I called expeida right away and they called the hotel and manually entered the reservation. The room I had reserved by then was not available, Front desk had upgrated me to a two bedroom suite! "Huge room for great price"
Although the decor and facade of the hotel are a bit dated, the suite we had was extremely clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. We arrived late and were given a room way in the back of the hotel on the third floor. We were disappointed at the location of our room, but chose not to move a couple of days later when it was available […] (we were there for four nights to celebrate our daughter's graduation from Emory U.) because we found we were not going in and out so much that we were put out by the location or stairs too much. The breakfast was a good continental breakfast comparable to others we've had elsewhere. Was pleasantly surprised by the room size which was large, included two separate suite rooms (one room with one double bed, tv and bathroom and the other with two double beds, a t.v. and it's own bathroom) and a "living area" with a couch and another t.v. and a full kitchen (included full-size refrigerator, stove and microwave). "Will never stay there again."
Terrible service. Daytime attendant not downright nasty. Did not transfer calls to my room and was nasty to the persons calling me On top of that my security box locked and would not open. I told here I was going out to dinner left my number so she would call me if she needed. She claimed she had called me when I asked what number she gave the wrong […] number. She then said that she had told me to stay in my room which was not true. When I asked her to tell me the truth she just ignored me. Finally I was told that at midnight maintenance would come to open the box. I was awakened at midnight by the relief front desk attendant who was very nicecame to open the box but did not have the right tools to do it. Finally at 6;30 AM the driver of the Hotel came, again without the required tools, and was innovative enough to borrow tools from another hotel to finally open my box at 0730.
