"Nice hotel. Close to theaters. easy access to subw"
Other than my key battery dying several times, my stay at this hotel was great. The staff was friendly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
"I'd stay again."
We chose this hotel for price and location, and we were not disappointed. Staff very helpful and friendly. We did have a window that would not latch closed, however, making the room very cold. It was supposedly fixed once, but wasn't. Then they did fix it, and came to move our bags to another room per our request, but after knowing the window was latched […] closed, we stayed in the room. Overall, very nice though. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Perfect for a short stay. Close enough to Times Square. Easy access from a subway station.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
one night an irate guest was fighting/screaming/cursing about an hour . After numerous complains the situation ended. Other than that great hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was awesome, bought my gf flowers to wake up to and they provided me with a vase for the duration of our stay, very friendly...only down side is the shower, the entire bathroom floor got wet whenever one of us showeredGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small hotel, but great area !"
Everything was close , that's why I like this area !!Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is located only steps from 5th Avenue but 55th Street (between 5th and 6th) is dirty and uninteresting. The hotel is trying too hard to be "cool" and lacks warmth and comfort (despite a massage chair in the room). The bathroom is in a "light cube" which provides little privacy. The Bose alarm and radio didn't work, there was no iron, the […] bed squeaked and I was interrupted from a nap by loud maid staff and someone claiming to want to "freshen the mini bar". On the plus side, the hotel provided free coffee in the morning and some limited breakfast items (for purchase). The bed was comfortable, the elevators were not crowded and valet service was helpful. This is a boutique hotel so don't expect anything glamorous. In fact don't expect a window. The room was very small and not well lit. The hotel was a lot like the hotel I stayed at last year in Londan, which was only 2 blocks away from the London Eye. So it's all about the location which is absolutely great - right off of 5 th ave and right between […] Rockefeller center and Central Park. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for families with small children. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The champaign offered at check-in desk was marvelous! When my room key didn't work after three trips back upstairs and three separate attempts, I was upgraded to a Junior Suite and given more champaign. It all made me a happy camper :).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Weekend Stay in New York!"
My daughter and I went to new York to do some shopping and see a show and the Shoreham was perfect for us. They were extremely pet friendly, so we were even able to take our dog with us. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
We were visiting family in NYC over Thanksgiving when we stayed at the Shoreham. The staff was fantastic!! They went way out of their way to ensure us a room that had a balcony overlooking the parade!! The room was beautiful - we stayed in a suite. Plenty of room for a family of four. Incredible bathrooms, very clean. This hotel made our stay!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"convenient, clean and nice"
Had an event at the University club so it was perfect. door man could have been better, otherwise fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ideal for what we wanted...."
It was a great hotel-- just enough out of the way as to not feel like a tourist hotel but nice rooms, comfortable, very clean and helpful staff.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel and perfect location!"
I was very happy with the service, the room, the ease in checking in/out. Thanks NY!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
On the expedia site it was advertised, that the hotel has a free Wi Fi, when you log on, to says, that Wi Fi cost $14,99, but for you it is free, no way, I have been charged $15 per day for the internet connection.Genuine Expedia guest review
Easy location for the meetings I had while in the city. Room temperature was a little difficult to regulate...no drinking glasses in the bathroom. Other than that, good. Room service was quick and convenient.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best location for tourist"
Room too small for lounging. Ice only available with slow room service. Good restaurants across street, central to everything.Genuine Expedia guest review
Loud pipes near our room that kept us up one night. Comped breakfast for the trouble. Offered us another room if it didn't stop, but it would intermittently start up again and again. Great location. Friendly staff. Ashtray in a drawer even though we requested non-smoking room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"location, location, location"
Location is fantastic! Got off to a little bit of a rough start with room right over the side walk...but they were able to put us on a higher floor the next day. Hotel rooms were amazingly quiet from the street noise. Nice to have breakfast available in the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Location Bad Hotel"
The location is perfect and it was convenient for what I was down for this week, and the room was actually more spacious than I expected, but the compliments stop there. The front desk staff were joking sarcastically about the guest in line before me after he left, right in front of other guests. The walls and doors were grimey and dirty, and the overall […] decor of the hotel was absolutely disgusting. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel is ok for an overnight stay"
The Hotel is ok for an overnight stay. I wouldn't recommend anything more than one night unless you don't mind living in a closet. Everything in this hotel was small. For starters, the elevator can only accommodate two people and if you have luggage with you I wish you luck. You will be better off with the stairs if you are on a low floor. The room […] is small which is expected in NYC but the bathroom is ridiculously small. Another review mentioned its like a bathroom on an airline. So true, except it does have a bath/shower. The lighting in the room, or lack of, is quite annoying b/c you can't see anything! The room was clean but. then again it probably seemed clean b/c I couldn't see anything. This hotel is nothing more than a 3 star. Overall, if this stuff doesn't bother you then for the reasonable rates, very pleasant staff and great location its worth it for a night. "Good location, good value, but small room"
The Shoreham is good value given its location, on W 55th. Convenient to museums, theatres, and shopping. I have stayed there twice before, and each time my room (as I expect most of the hotel's) are very small. I was there by myself so I was fine, but if someone else shared the room, it would have been very tight and a bit uncomfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Central Park and the theater district"
Stay was great and location was good as well. Hotel staff not very knowledgeable regarding local dining. Room a little strange, bathroom was quite large, but had very small sink and no other shelf space.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was very attractive and clean but the lighting was inadequate (except for over the bed) and there was no full-length mirror. The bathroom was very small. The location was excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
was good, but for this rate could make wireless internet included in room facilities. And receptionist could be d bit more courteous. Location is great!!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to everything we wanted to do!"
Loved the hotel. Rooms were tiny but comfortable enough as long as you didn't come to hang out in the room! It was surprisingly quiet. There was no noise in the bedrooms. I don't even think we saw anyone else on our floor the entire time we were there except for maids.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Decent for the money"
This is a hip hotel, in a perfect location. The suite with sofa bed is more than ample for a family of three. The bathroom is extremely small, even by NYC standards, but adequate. The decor throughout is very hip though the bathrooms are showing some wear. There are some lovely perks, however. The lounge, on the first floor, is a wonderful rendez-vous […] spot, if you are traveling with others and need an easy gathering location. The complimentary coffee/cappucino machine is welcome and a savings for that first cup, in the morning. The fitness center is clean and comprehensive. The staff are friendly and helpful. For me it was the perfect hotel in the location I needed to be.Nice bed, great bathroom, good products.Food is good, free coffee not that great.Friendly staff, street with lots of food options etc...Very central.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice little hotel with and excellent location!"
The hotel is really nice and cozy hotel. Somewhat decorated in a contemporary style. The hotel staff are amazingly polite and courteous. The hotel was able to offer reasonably priced ways of parking, getting around and provide maps and some guidance of NYC. Location is incredible, its about 4 blocks south of Central Park (10 min. walk) and 10 blocks […] up from Time Square. By subway Time Square, is literally about 2 mins away. The hotel is located about 2 blocks from the subway station. We had a smaller room with a king size bed and accessible bath.....is was a pretty nice room as seen in the pics, but with the accessible bathroom there is no shower curtain (which the hotel was absolutely up front about). Trustworthy hotel!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Exceptionally comfortable bed"
I hate those hard as a rock cheap beds -- the Shoreham bed was the best I've ever had. Bathroom is very small in size but OK as long as you don't weigh 3-400 pounds. Shower was very good with very good water pressure and a great shower head. We had a corner room so we had two windows (we were on the 7th floor; no view at all -- 15 feet from a another […] wall from one window and multiple other backs of other buildings from the other -- but they did let in light). The Foreham allows pets, this was the main reason for staying here since the hotel is located 5 blocks from Central Park. We stayed at one of their penthouse suites, plenty of room for the dog and us. Quiet, yes, very quiet for a Midtown hotel, and sunny.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not for business travelers"
I booked this hotel because of its great location in midtown and its (comparatively) cheap rate. To be honest, considering how expensive New York hotels are now, this was probably a reasonable value for the money. But there were some issues: first room they checked me into was stripped of bedding and full of garbage bags, so I had to go back to the […] front desk for another room, which was small even by New York standards. They did give me free Wi-Fi and one morning continental breakfast, but the I could never connect to the Wi-Fi and the breakfast (normally $17!) was okay, but cramped as it is set up in the smallish bar. In the room, there were no extra electrical outlets, so I had to unplug the lamp on the "desk" to plug in my laptop. Had to charge my iPhone in the bathroom. The desk is a narrow glass slab with no chair - you have to sit on the bed to use your laptop. Housekeeping was not great - they never replaced my washcloth all three days and the bathroom was not thoroughly cleaned. TV was cumbersome to use, but probably no more so than some other hotels I have stayed in. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I enjoyed my stay, staff friendly, however I thought the staff could have used a helping hand, my room was clean but my shower had hair in it , and I don't like to see someone else's hair in my shower, grooooseeeee!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Checked in late morning, and was told they'd have a room within the hour. Returned two hours later, and still waited over an hour. Reservations requested a smoking room (and confirmed upon check in), only to be put in a non smoking room (initially). Finally received our requested room at 5:00 PM. Very poorly executed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Victor at the front desk was very helpful, and a great ambassador for your hotel!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Was expecting a littler nicer...."
Although the stay here was not awful, I was somewhat disappointed in the room. The bathroom was very small and the lighting in the room is terrible (ladies - you'll have difficulty applying any makeup in the amount of light provided). It didn't help that the windows faced the interior of the building, which was depressing. The room itself and the bed […] were comfortable. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is in a great location but not the greatest hotel. The room was extremely small and cramped. The walls were dirty.. not the nicest place I've stayed...Genuine Expedia guest review
Very small room. No towels in the room when we arrived. Had to call the front desk for ice. Good location to see Midtown.Genuine Expedia guest review

In town for 2 days from Palm Beach. As guests of the Director of Captain Phillips which was premiering at the New York Film Festival we were pleasantly surprised with this "boutique" Hotel! Will recomend it highly to all we meet!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Shoreham hotel smoking rooms"
I was not aware that they booked me in a smoking room , I was shock and disappointed initially . Hotel staff took care of it and booked in a better room.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Tidy little room, emphasis on the little"
I was looking for a reasonable place near 5th and 57th, and this came up. Recently redone with modern look. Tiny window looking into ventillation shaft. Small room, reasonable rate for NY. I'd try another before going back.Genuine Expedia guest review
1 - should be a light in bathroom over toilet. 2 - needed a king size bed (2 twins together would have been fine). 3 - had to ask for 2 washcloths instead of 1 each day (we were a couple). 4 - ceiling light over bed was outGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Central Park and Times Square"
In general, it was great. The bathrooms sure do need an upgrade, though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient location; trendy for the $$"
Very nice stay - found the staff to be helpful and accommodating. Felt badly having to ring the front desk for ice every time I needed it. The free deluxe coffee machine was a nice treat.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel, great location"
Recommend this hotel. Stylish, modern, clean, well run.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Run down shade of itself"
I used to stay in this hotel few years ago. It is sad to see that the hotel in such a good location and with fine ambitions in the beginning, have been run down so hard. Shabby furniture, pealing paint everywhere, tiny washrooms (competing with airlines apparently), etc to complete a bad impression.Genuine Expedia guest review
