"Very Convenient to downtown."
Stay was very good overall. would stay again on the next trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel and the restaurant were both good experiences.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Rusty hinges on the door. Torn curtains. Broken lamp. Teeny tiny TV from 1982. The bathroom door was starting to rot. Peeling wallpaper. One towel was stained (or worse, maybe it was dirty). Stained carpet. Drip marks on the chair upholstery. Hairs in the shampoo basket... little ones, like someone had trimmed something nearby and no one had cleaned […] up. Walking distance to Smithsonian. I would stay there again, I'm cheap, but my wife would not. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to all monuments"
Nothing special about this hotel. The location is great, the beds not that much (though, they are comfy enough to have some good sleep - just not first class) It's not bad, but nothing to make it a really good hotel - but cheap for the service and location.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very low speed internet lots of trouble connecting, managing emails, and unable to live stream important video conference. No fridge or coffee pot in the room and an overpriced restaurant downstairs. Location is great central to everything including metro and the garage parking is included. Front desk and house keeping practically impossible to reach […] by phone. Be prepared to be self sufficient and you will enjoy the location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Free Parking in DC....great value!"
Perfect for us.....right near The Arena Stage....walking distance to museums and galleries....away from the tourist hub. Old fashioned decor, but friendly and comfortable......just add another reading lamp! Nice seafood restaurant on premises!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Excellent choice for dc!! Great hotel and good priceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
You get what you pay for. Let me start with the pros- not to far from the museums (about 15 min walk), free parking, free wi-fi, and friendly staff.. The cons hotel is VERY OUTDATED, tv was out of frame (some channels did not work), wall paper falling off wall. The heater did not work, turn the heat to 80 degrees it was blowing out cool air!!! "Great location, accomodating staff"
Older hotel. Great location near the Mall and alongside the marina. Convenient restaurant with wide selections and affordable pricing. Great little nightclub with good drinks. Decor in rooms could use updating (well-worn furnishings, bedding and woodwork), but clean and generous in size. Comfortable, affordable (esp free parking & wifi).Genuine Expedia guest review
"near metro station and at waterfront"
i liked the hotel. very nice people, particularly in breakfast room. Cozy bar and friendly bar tender. I will come back thereGenuine Hotels.com guest review
we only stay there because of the balcony which looks on the marina. good food at the fish market nearby everything is old ,needs some remodellingGenuine Expedia guest review
Worst hotel ever. Wish I could get my money back. Would have been better sleeping in the car.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything was great until I got home. I reserved the room with my credit card, but paid daily with cash. They still charged my credit card, & still have not reimbursed me.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice propertyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The place is a little dated but it was comfortable enough. Within walking diatance of Safeway and Starbucks. Depending on where else you go this place is within 20-35 min walk to the attractions, but remember you will do a lot of walking when you get there.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was a place to rest at the last minute. I am not fond of those standard pattern blankets. It took half the night to warm the room. The staff were pleasant but the hotel could use a renovation!!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS PROPERTY AGAIN"
I think Hotels.com should have them show accurate pictures, because it does not look like that in person. I called to Hotels.com to say this was NOT acceptable place to sleep for free never less pay for. It didn't even have proper sheets on the bed. Automatic doors when you walk in don't even work. It's too far away from everything in DC. The only good […] thing was room service dinner and taxi's waiting outside to leave. I think it's run by a family but they have no sense of customer service. I should have been allowed a full credit, but they said they would up grade me at no charge and only charge for one night. So I went to Hotels tonight App where I'm never disappointed. "Excellent location, Comfortable and friendly staff"
The CHANNEL INN is a Classic Hotel, spacious rooms. Our room overlooked Potomac River. Really is a good place to stay when you visit Washington Dc. The monuments, the National Mall and all attractions are within walking distance. The staff were very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice for the price"

Great location, nice room, helpful staff and yummy restaurant on site!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to family we visited"
The stay was pleasant and convenient. The property is dated, but clean. Cost was a little higher than I would have liked, but probably appropriate to the convenient location to sites. Beverage vending machine on floor was inconvenient. It only took change and credit cards. It would not take my change and I did not trust using the credit card.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very reasonably priced for DC"
I can put up with dated decor, as along as the rooms and public spaces are clean, which they were. Views to the river and marina were nice and I really appreciated that parking was included. The Metro is only a couple blocks away and just four stops to he convention center. For all of this and the price I will stay here again, unless they remodel and […] triple their prices. Great Restaurants, Excelent View, Clean Rooms, Friendly People in the lobby, Rear Bottom entry from parking lot Unusual.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel had a nice location. Fair amount of problems with the desk staff not understanding english and not seeming to care to try to help when there was a small problem. Rooms were clean but very well worn.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Waterfront Hotel conveniently located!"
The hotel is in a great place to get everywhere you want downtown with 20 minutes by walking, driving or the METRO. The hotel is very outdated but the housekeeping staff keeps it clean. Overall the management staff was very accommodating and pleasing to work with. The person who appeared to be the "big boss" demonstrated no people skills what so ever. […] In fact he was close to plan RUDE! I secured a room for a friend and extended the stay by one extra day. Unfortunately he did not read the information that the room had been extended until we returned late that evening from being gone very early in the morning. He did not acknowledge our presence and spoke to everyone else in another language. When I asked was someone available to assist my friend get in their room he spoke to another employee in another language (not english). He spoke english with other workers in the hotel but never addressed me. We never had a problem with the bill or any of the other staff just him. If he is the representative for the management of the hotel he is terrible. Management for the hotel industry should lead by example and demonstrate professionalism and courteousness especially when patrons are in your presence. Acknowledging patrons is the first rule of being a boss, interacting with people and definitely working with the public. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Close to the mall, but away from downtown amentities. Convenient to busline. Hotel was clean, but ordinary. Slightly rundown.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel was perfect for what I was looking for. The rooms are modest and dated but they were comfortable and clean. It is 2 blocks from the Metro and parking was free and secure, an absolute must in DC. There were many good places within a short walk to eat. The staff was pleasant and housekeeping was very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely […] stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Pros The staff is very friendly and helpful. Parking is good! and even you leaving hotel at noon and want to walk around DC till evening - you can keep the car in the garage free of charge! Con 1. There is NO internet in the room. Receptionist told me that straight away (they said : most of our rooms are busy now therefore internet is bad - I believe […] the internet connection should not be affected by number of guests, hotel suppose to select the internet plan according to the maximum number of guests. And internet was not bad or slow - I was not able to connect at all (lucky I have my own portable hot spot). SO IF you are for BUSINESS or JUST REALLY need INTERNET this hotel is NOT a choice! 2. not all bulbs in lamps were working and my room was quite dark. 3. I rated neighborhood as 3 for a reason. Although the hotel located 20 minutes away from Jefferson monument by walking, BUT if you decide to walk or cycle to all memorials you will have to go through fish market which is stinky. 4. If you need to print something out - forget it! Their printer low on ink (that was in my visit) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Easy access hotel on the water in SW DC."
Staff friendly even if English is a second language. Old Chinese furniture, waterfront theme. Dated hotel but still has ambiance at a good price. My room was always kept clean. Towels and bathroom kept impeccable. I will stay here again. It is my old neighborhood and I am comfortable here. It feels like home.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Price Performance Ratio"
The price/performance ratio was good. The hotel is clean, quiet, and a few minutes away from the Metro station Waterfront. The hotel is not the most modern one, it had seen better times, I guess, but for someone looking for a reasonable priced hotel in DC, it is a good choice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Arena Stage"
Uncomfortable bed. Noisy--hard to sleep Lack of good restaurants nearbyGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean, affordable and within walking distance"
Channel Inn was perfect for us, well priced, clean and unique. We would highly recommend this hotel to a couple after a very unique experience on a budget. Very nice restaurant on the ground floor to dine out (but close by). Don't judge a book by it's cover, this hotel is a gem once you get past the old boring exterior. If you happen to bump into the […] maids, there's an awesome maid who gave us a laugh or two, very lovely lady, loved a chat! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to friends and National Mall"
Not at hotel very much but had a room facing the Harbor which was very nice with a balcony. Within a walking distance to the National Mall a ways but walkable. Close to Metro and a grocery store/Rx.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The hotel was on the Potomac - so we used it."
I found a roach in the tissue dispenser my first night. The rom was very musty - I bought an air freshener to make it better. The food was passable but higher cost than the quality warranted.Genuine Expedia guest review
Close to FDR & MLK Memorials & Reagan Airport. Taxi always available which was helpful for us. We forgot our toothpaste and they quickly supplied us with some.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Inexpensive hotel in an expensive city!"
A little isolated but only a short walk to the Mall (about 15 minutes)...so the location is ideal for seeing Washington's sights. It's tired in it's appearance but clean and reasonably comfortable. It also has the enormous advantage of having a free, indoor garage. Ask for a room facing the water (Potomac River) and marina. The restaurant seems a little […] uninviting but the food is outstanding. We ate there the first night because we were tired and the second night because we liked it so much the first night...service was excellent (government shut down left few patrons). For breakfast...take a right out of the hotel, round the curve (about 3 blocks) for a great Starbucks in a grocery with fresh baked good and hot capuccino's...hotel restaurant not open for breakfast. "Close to everything"
Bad: Hotel seems old and worn. Beds hard. Thin flat pillows. No coffee in room or in lobby, must go to attached restaurant. Room cleaners disregard "Do Not Disturb" signs and knock on your door, think they want to wake you so you get up and out so they can finish cleaning rooms. Cheap white plastic chairs on balconies, one chair was broken. Sliding […] door to balcony should not be considered a slider, extremely hard for adult male to slide. Good: Conveniently located. Nice view from balconies. Attached restaurant is pretty good or nice buffet just down the block (Phillips). Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"close to metro but very terrible"
The only thing good about Channel INN is how close it is too the metro. Other than that this place is a no go. All the furniture is old and makes you feel like your in the 80's. I paid for a king size room and showed up 30 minutes before my room was ready. When i came back after I was told that the room I paid for was ready, I walked into a room with […] a full size bed. I complained to the front desk and asked to speak to a manager. The manager was rude and said he had no other rooms for me to move too. After raising my voice, a miracle happened... and to no surprise was moved to a room slightly bigger. He also told me, KING SIZE ROOMS ARE NOT WATERFRONT, Well, that defeats the purpose of staying here. Save your money and go somewhere else! Not romantic, not comfy, not worth the money. If you want to feel sleazy, be my guest and stay here. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convienent location, friendly staff"
The entire staff was very helpful and welcoming, especially the maids. The bed was a little stiff. The hotel bar has live music and entertainment, so that was enjoyable. Some rooms have a really nice view and all rooms have balconies, which is nice. Can't beat the free parking garage! There are always cabs parked along the street waiting to take guests […] wherever they need to go. The location was superb! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not a happy traveler"
My first trip to Washington DC. I was not impressed with the Channel Inn. It is an aging hotel clearly showing it's age and condition. Beds and bedding do not compare with most hotels I have stayed in for business travel. Uncomfortable pillows with pillowcases too small, thin and worn blanket, room temperature difficult to maintain with wall mounted […] unit. No check-out time posted, no do not disturb door hanger available. No bottled water available or in room coffee maker. Location was too far from DC attractions to walk, nearest public transit was several blocks away through questionable neighborhoods. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
