We had to crawl underneath a retaining wall in order to access our room. I am 50 years old and it was not very convenient. Room was nice and sufficed for one evening. Located a couple miles from any food or shopping.

We went to the hotel during the off-season. The weather was about 10° cooler than normal. Even so, we had a great time. We had a nice view the ocean, the staff was terrific, the room was clean and exactly as advertised. I highly recommend this hotel if you plan to stay in the ocean Isle area.

My wife and I stayed in December and had the place to ourselves. Absolutely woderful. The gardens are expansive and beautiful. Each beachfront room/suite has a front porch with rocking chairs. The best thing was the room being on the first floor. The worst thing was that the TV could not be seen from the couch and the beds. I layed across the bed to see evening programs. The head boards were not attached to the wall.

We really enjoyed our stat at the Winds. The location was right on the beach. The palm trees and the Tiki bar made you believe you were in the carribean. typical southern style breakfast was a nice touch. overall an excellent experience!

We knew nothing about where to stay in Ocean Isle and got the name from Expedia. We were not at all disappointed. The room was clean and c0mfortable. The service was good. We would not hesitate to stay here again next year.

Room had a musty smell when you entered...sofa and chair had mold on it. Bedroom had some type of free standing "air conditioner" that did not do much as far as cooling and was really loud.

We drove all night and arrived at the hotel at 11:00am. Check-in isn't until 4pm, and I knew we couldn't checked in that early, but we let the hotel know we were there so we could at last use their facilities. I've always had the experience that if you arrive early, they try to get your room ready earlier/call you when its ready. No hope of that here. […] After I heard them go out of their way to make special accomodations for several other people, they finally let us check-in at 3:30. Though they gave us a map of the place, but we could not find the door to our room, as it is not clear that you go into a common room to find your cluster of rooms. In the midst of the downpour, we finally find our room, and went in. The room smelled like a wet dog, one of the main lights was out, and more frightening was the lock to the deck did not work (I have a 3 year old). The rest of the stay was fine, however at check out, I expected someone to ask me how my stay, so I could let them know the problems, and since we had express check-out, I received an impersonal, "you're all set" and then he went back to what he was doing. Other than the hot tub being broken, we had a nice stay, great location, loved being right on the beach with my two children. If you like to be left alone on your vacation, this place is great. However, if you expect some personal touches or need something, expect to go out of your way for it. Read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The room was big and comfortable. A very good breakfast was served every morning. The beach is family-oriented. The only downfall is that the town does not allow pop-up tents. We put one up and then had to take it down. Lots and lots of seashells.

The hotel is spread across several buildings on either side of 1st street, so your room is not necessarily on the beach side, which is okay. The beach is very close. If you need elevator access you have to stay on the beach side however - the other rooms across the street involve stair climbing. The hotel offers many free services, including bicycle […] rental and paid greens fees if you are a golfer. This hotel exceeded our expectations given the terrific price we got online. Very convenient for going to the beach. The hotel was a little more dated than we thought it was. It was also much smaller than we pictured it to be. It is in the middle of a neighborhood of rental houses. But parking was good and staff was very friendly.

Room and grounds were very clean and maintained. The second pool area had no lounge chairs to lay on (was told they were only available for the oceanfront rooms). So if you want to lay in the sun at Pool #2 you have to lie on the concrete.

It was great for the weekend traveler or for some one with kids. I found it so kid friendly. They were so nice and helpful. I had a great time with the fun area and the pool since the water was to cool to go into the water. We played in the sand and watched the Dolphins feed in the surf. We didn't want to leave.

Its the best place to go and stay. The staff is the best ever... The food for free full breakfast is the best of foods to eat. The room was wonderful and oceanfront with 2 bedrooms, 2beds, 2 large sofas and 3 tv's and a full kitchen and a living room and a outdoor rocker chair view just outside your door. It was just a few steps to the beach. Only a […] few steps to the outdoor pool and bar. Everything you need for the beach--they have free for you and that means a lot. they have bikes for you to ride. they have a outdoor play area. a library for books you can read and bring back to the garden room anytime.
